Poppy Hills hosted the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro Am for 18 years alongside Pebble Beach Golf Links. Same zip code, same forest, same Monterey Pines. A normal tee time runs $350 but a twilight tee time on the weekend is $120.
If you time it right you are finishing your round as the sun goes down over Monterey Bay. That is hard to beat at any price.
This is the first of a series I am putting together around twilight tee times at courses worth playing. When a round is a third of the price and you get to finish in golden hour, that is hard to pass up. There is something about the way a course looks as the sun goes down that a 7am tee time just cannot replicate.
