You might be missing out on one of the best-performing putters… just because of how it looks. 👀

We’ve seen this story before.

Golfers said it about L.A.B. Golf.
They said it about PING.

And now it’s happening again.

This year, Runner Golf completely surprised us in testing. Not just with their blades, but their mallets too.

The lesson?

Stop judging putters by looks.
Start paying attention to what actually helps you make more putts.

Because at the end of the day… that’s all that matters.

What do you think, would you game something “ugly” if it worked? 👇

  1. You can’t jump from the Anser to LAB. You have the Odyssey 2 and 3 ball, Ping Crazee, TM Spyder, and dozens of other mallet putters, then belly and chest brooms. And over sized flat grips and double thumb grips. Now we are in the zero torque era. since old Tom players have been searching for tech to putt better. This year alone we have seen players changing putters and putter setups multiple times in a season and some while winning. What we see is the .05% of all golfers fall into three camps: find what works and ride or die (Tiger 17 seasons with the same putter); fiddle all the time with equipment and blame it when it doesn’t work; and retool their putting motion constantly. The one factor that really matters? Can we read the data the greens give us? Putter tech will help only if you know how to putt to begin with. Otherwise, any putter will work until you get your head wrapped around reading greens. Then find what works for you. My son learned on a mallet, went from terrible to okay. Switched to an Anser and now putts quite well. The Anser fits his eye and in his words ‘feels right in my hands’. I am an Anser user as well, though I will die on that hill, while he is flexible. Me and any mallets? Fire and turpentine on a date. Blade and Anser? Match perfectly. The best advice I ever received when I started was a club pro showing me to read a green and telling me to figure that out, then find a putter. 14 years and one regrip later, the same Anser is in the bag. I know it, and I know what to expect, what it says through feedback, and it is consistent. I don’t have to think about the putter at all, just the green and the break. That is the most underrated aspect of Tiger’s game, his consistency with putting. He said when your hands and the putter are one, you are done. Now just make the stroke.

  2. Every manufacturer chases the dollars of players based on the new tech breakthrough. Zero torque is the new thing right now, so all mfrs are trying to cash in, even if they are only kinda zero torque. I expect a full data driven breakdown from your team using a panel of players high, med, low, and pro players on real greens in different conditions (warm and dry, wet, cool, etc) and all types of putts downhill, uphill, sliders, long lags, 3 feet, inside 10 feet, etc. Do what all players want, real life application data across skill levels in different conditions. Give us the real data on blade, Anser, Mallet, mid-mallet, low and zero torque, broom, heel shafted, center shafted, etc. Please give us real data from real players on real greens!

  3. There's also another brand that spins BS.
Show me a tour player that not only used but has won using a runner putter.
    Your so full of it.
    Is this another PIAD promotion.

  4. Where’s the data for the testing you guys do? Would love to read what the methodology was and how the test was performed and scored.

  5. In a sport where everyone has unique needs for what works for them, I love how MGS just makes these bold conclusions. “The #1 (pick your club, ball, shoe, etc)” implying that you should go but it. BTW, If this putter is so awesome what pro is playing it? There are many tour pros switching putter week to week, some round to round. Yet to see this in anyone’s bag.
