Using the FullSwing Kit launch monitor has transformed both my game and my content! Check it our for yourself here – https://fullswingemea.com/pages/james-robinson
There should be no need for an insert on any of the LAB putters. On slower greens or uphill putts just make your grip a bit firmer. On fast greens & downhill putts soften your grip a bit. I've got a DF3 (no insert) and since being becoming aware of benefits of changing your grip pressure on different types of putts and green speeds my putting has improved to a level I never thought I would ever achieve. I can now honestly state that putting is now the strongest part of my game and no longer the weakest since adapting these grip pressure changes.
The 2.1 looks just like my very old Titleist Dead Center Putter which I still use. There's no reason to drop $500 on a putter for no reason. It's all about the amount of practice.
This is awesome. Lab needed this. Believe it or not I’m sure it will increase the sales of the other lines too having the full lineup. That link 2.2 looks like it’s in my future!!!
James- now that you have tried all of the labs, which one are you going to play? I've been waiting to order one, but not until I know which one ends up in your bag.
Why is no one talking about how insane bad the paint quality is on LAB putters? Every time i see a youtuber with a Lab putter older than a month or so, it looks terrible. It is one of the most expensive putters on the marked, how does people accept that?
James, the insert on your LAB putter is made of 303 stainless steel, which is the exact same material that this entire putter is made of. 303 is not the weight of the putter, it's the grade of stainless steel the putter is made from.
Since it's the same material, the way the ball collides with it is the same. It feels softer because the weight is lower. Notice how when you got the feel of the 2.1 but then switched to the 2.2 you hit all the putts too far? The two putters have the same face but the weight and the way the mass is distributed is different.
So the 2.2 is likely closer to your current LAB for that reason. And had you not switched to the 2.1 and back again, you probably would have had the distance control dialed in with the 2.2 before the end of the video.
I like both designs and it's about time they came up with these. I would love to have the 2.2, but I probably won't buy one because I already have a putter that I not onli love, but putt very well with.
Remember the PXG Hellcat? LAB going more mainstream is interesting but they enter a sector that is extremely competitive. I'll stick with Ping Mundy for now.

I do love the look of that double wide model.

Shocking !!!!
I mean the old putters were soft because they were aluminum. These are 303ss.

Finally proper putters from LAB
Still don't think LAB make you hole putts
2.2 looks the nicer one out of the two and that’s the one that I would choose, great putter review video James

Thanks for the review.

FYI Guys… 2 points… the 303 is the stainless steel not the weight… and I’m an idiot… that is all 😍👊🏼🔥👌🏼
