Played Chambers Bay today. A brief frost delay followed by amazing weather. Driver was not cooperating and on 10th, I sliced to the bunker on the right (I hate golf).
With only 160ish yards to the flag, I thought I can pull some magic out of my ass and tried to go for the greens. Chunked the shit out of my attempt, ball went 20ish yards and landed inside the same bunker, right on the lips with a fried egg lie (I hate golf).
With no other option, I had to just get it out of the bunk with my LW and (finally) take my medicine. No frill thunk to the fairway (I hate golf).
With 129 yds to the pin, I hit a decent approach, hoping to salvage for a bogey. Ball hit the side of the hill and started rolling down. My position on the fairway only allowed me to see that the ball landed and rolling down the greens. What came next was a loud scream from the 3 strangers that I got grouped with saying it went in! I was speechless as this was my longest holeout ever! My only reaction was walking toward the greens with two hands on my head for the longest time. Still can't believe it. (I love golf!).
