  1. Umpire is 100% correct in this instance. The speed that the shuttle is coming at him is why he missed the shot, NOT any possible interference from the players fall.

  2. BWF stupid double stardard rules … better train all umpires know what is shi.t taste like 😂 ..

  3. The way Lai fell would have caused extra brain processing in the split second on Loh to hinder him from make an accurate pass as Loh had to determine if the momentum of the fall is heavy enough to cause injury or harm to Loh or to both players. Hence that is a split second distraction and any distraction especially from the opponent crossing into his court is definitely a foul come on

  4. The quality of umpires in badminton is a joke. Racket cannot cross the net, but the whole player with racket in tow is allowed

  5. Why the aunty never try asking for clearance. How can request Victor Lai for his acceptance. He is a professional player.

  6. Sack the damn umpire for his obvious bias and incompetence. Another show of power play by an arrogant umpire.

  7. i am one loh´s side it is a huge distaction
and the Empire was so rude like litearally I felt like so bad for loh

  8. Badminton rules aren't clear enough compared to other "net sports" such as volleyball, tennis or ping pong, that's not good.
So then you get outraged debates (especially coming from Asian people actually) for trying to negociate a single point : ridiculous…

  9. Whole body falls over the other side of the court ruled no interference but raising a racket in own court ruled interference? Some umpires are aliens from Mars 😂

  10. It was not tumbling OVER the net. It is a body fall UNDER the net.

This time I am on the umpire's side until the WBF makes rules about this unambiguous.

  11. If you notice unlike volleyball, sepaktakraw, tennis or other games that use net in the middle of the court, only badminton does not have a straight line under the net. This means that the player can go across the court under the net. It will become a fault only if the player touches the net or blocks the opponent…

  12. It was clearly an obstruction. Lai could not control his balance which is natural but that completely left in a clueless dumbstruck state.
