ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – The New Mexico women’s golf team begins its spring schedule this week with a trip to California for the Alice and John Wallace Women’s Golf Classic. The tournament, hosted by Long Beach State at Monterey Country Club in Palm Desert, will be held Saturday-Monday.  

The tournament will feature one round of play each day. Live scoring will be available on Clippd.

This year’s tournament features 16 schools, including nine teams in the top 100. The Lobos will play against No. 2 USC, No. 10 Vanderbilt, No. 11 UCLA, No. 33 Eastern Michigan, No. 57 San Jose State, No. 59 Cal, No. 63 Northern Arizona, No. 92 Boise State, No. 99 Washington and No. 100 Long Beach State. Denver, Grand Canyon, Hawaii, Fresno State and UC Riverside round out the field.

New Mexico’s lineup for the event is Chelsea Truong, Ava Cepeda, Rebecca Galasso, Ciara Rushmer and Maria Caparros Levin. Juliette Hole will compete as an individual.

The Lobos are playing the event for the first time, but are frequent visitors to Palm Springs, with the Mountain West Championship held annually just a few miles away at Mission Hills Country Club.
