Brooks Koepka speaks after Round 2 of the Farmers Insurance Open at Torrey Pines, confirming he made the cut and will play the weekend. Koepka says Day 2 felt “more normal” after the nerves of Round 1, loved the improvement off the tee, but admitted the putter was cruel: he felt “all over the lip” on the poa annua greens.

In this FULL Q&A, Koepka talks about:

Why making the cut mattered: “I just wanted four days this week”

The difference between Round 1 nerves vs. Round 2 feeling normal

Driver improvement and why the score could’ve been lower

Putting frustration: great rolls, nothing dropping, “poa greens”

Cut-line mindset: awareness without changing the goal (go low)

A special moment walking off with his wife and son waiting near the green

  1. Any LIV player that turned their backs on the PGAT for money should have to pay a significant cash penalty and go back through the qualifying ranks, the Korn Ferry Tour, without special exemptions. The excuse the current CEO of the PGAT gave for exempting Koepka into this week's Torrey Pines event is backlashing the past months of downsizing the tour. The field was already set for 144 players! Claiming that two more players on the standby list would benefit by Koepka playing, needing two more players to make up another threesome for the field of 147. Talk about fuzzy math for reasoning???

  2. Wesley Bryant, never slap you in the face and you bring Liv golfers back… bring Wesley back.
