In this lesson, Craig Jones shares the “Senior Swing” cheat move that helps golfers over 55 add more turn at the top of the swing and unlock longer, straighter drives.

Craig explains how he struggled with shoulder turn for years—even while owning 5 Golftec Learning Centers and giving 10,000+ lessons—until a simple hip-turn adjustment changed everything. Now, he’s refined the move into a preset setup that helps older golfers swing more from the inside, square the face faster, and finally take back lost distance.

You’ll learn how to:

Use a strong grip to square the club face and release the toe

Preset your backswing to create more turn without forcing it

Add a hip bump to encourage hitting up on the ball

Release the club with proper toe past heel motion for effortless power

Sync up your body and arms to avoid slices, weak contact, and spinny drives

  1. Might seem like an obvious answer or a dumb question, but are you trying to turn the toe of the club past the heel at contact or just through the swing?

  2. Love his comment at 14:15…"stayed in the air a long time!".
    No kidding.
That has to be the most elevated tee box in the state.
    LOL.
Otherwise, a great video! Can't wait to see more.

  3. What encourages clubface rotation is external rotation. of the upper. left arm . A strong grip internally rotates the upper left arm. From. that position the left arm can rotate from internally rotated at address to externally rotated through impact. This rotation causes where the elbow points. And transmits force to the shaft.
Upper right arm rotation plays a role in this as well.

  4. I just hit two 250 and 245 drives recently using these tips. My other drives were only a few yards over my usual 200 yards, but more accurate. That's up from 200 to 210 average, as my distance dropped with age.

  5. One of the better videos I’ve ever seen I typically set up just like that at 64 still carry 260 I can carry further than that if my synchronization is really good otherwise I start swinging too hard and I’ll hook the shit out of the ball. Once my swing is grooved a little bit for the day I can swing pretty hard but you’re right there. There’s not that much distance loss by barely swinging when you make that kind of contact. you’ll pop one out there 2-220 and playing from the senior teams you’ll have a short iron. When I was young player, my left shoulder would be scraped up from my chin beard. Now I can’t even put my shoulder under my chin.

  6. 56 here, can play from seniors, choose not to. I outdrive 80% of the field in every friendly competition, averaging 230 meters… Just do mobility traning and keep your muscle tonus – go to the gym or train home. That's all.

  7. Never understood why teachers don’t just show you what to do than ramble on about what you shouldn’t do.. I can’t listen any longer I will fall asleep.

  8. This video was a game changer for me! I was able to regain my distance and hit straighter drives within a week of viewing this video! Love the content. Keep them coming!

  9. I like this instruction for the driver. I noticed that you didn’t have a lot of hip rotation or turn. Is that right?

  10. Very efficient instruction. Love the focus on feel rather than swinging like a mechanic. This is my go to method for driving,

  11. 73 year old here. Been having good results especially with the strong grip which was a major adjustment after 60 years of playing. Yesterday at the range I was somehow ending my swing almost up on my toes and offbalance, I began setting up with my weight on my heels and had great results. Where is your weight distribution? Sorry if this sounds petty but I have always been a feel golfer.

  12. I really appreciate this golf tip. This actually works. I was on the verge of giving up golf for a second time. This has changed my game more than any instruction I have ever seen. Thank you for sharing.

  13. I'm 70 years old soon to turn 71. Four years ago I played bethpage black and averaged 265 yds a drive. I've never done that in my life. After that I went out and played rounds and couldn't drive it more than 220 to 230 yd on a good day. For the past few years I've been trying to figure out what I did that day that allowed me to drive the ball with great distance, have a mild draw and get the ball to roll out so far. It wasn't until watching this video I realized that this is exactly what I did at bethpage black. I am so grateful to you for triggering that memory and one of the key points was making sure that the toe passed the heel.
Thank you again for relieving that frustration of trying to remember what I did during a great round.

  14. So many instructors fal to teach “feel the club head weight” during the swing. That plus a “strong” closed face grip affects the hit and ball flight. Back foot angled out for more takeaway. It’s a Hogan instruction.

  15. I do this and have been since spending three weeks at the range . Three days and 300 balls a day each week at the Driving range hitting balls. I have it nailed down. I went from 150+ yrd slices to 250 yard drives down the middle at 66 years old. You don't have to bring the club all the way back. Youose your club face being in the azmit you want the ball to go

  16. So you used to turn 67 degrees. What’s your turn radius now? I wish your video had shown you face on so we could see your new turn. From the position of camera it stills looks about the same.
Great video. I’m definitely going to try this.

  17. Awesome! Thanks yesterday I tried your rev tip and wow I was striking my irons with power! Can’t wait to practice with the driver this weekend

  18. I'm sure this helps people who hit slices with an over the top move. But what about those who already swing inside out and it right to left shots?

  19. 61 years old high handicapper here. Hands down one of the easiest translating lessons I’ve ever watched and I watch several daily. Thank you sir.

  20. Implemented this on the driving range and took it to the course. Best round of driving the ball I have had in years. Such a simple easy swing. It works.

  21. I use to play with a group of seniors and they constantly out scored me with slower swing speed and accuracy. I could out drive them with speed and youth in my 40’s but put myself in trouble on miss hits. Now in my 60’s and didn’t play regularly in the last 10 years now I’m starting to slow down but still going for speed but miss hits are more and more so this is really making sense
