In the very first part of the downswing, you do not need to rotate your lower body yet. What happens first is a small, almost invisible shift onto your lead foot during the transition. Once a bit more weight is on the lead side, the rotation starts. Note: You do not need to rotate as much as the player in the video. It is not about being extremely flexible. What really matters is creating tension between the lower body and the upper body. That tension builds the energy that gets released into the ball at impact.
It looks easy in the video, right? Some players do this naturally, while others learned it the wrong way from the start and have to retrain it.
If you feel like you’re one of those who need to relearn this move, comment "DM". I’ll send you the link to my Practice Community, where LPGA Tour player Sandra Gal and I personally help you improve your golf game.
