President Trump has been warned to “get off the golf course” in the middle of the U.S. government shutdown.
The U.S. Government shutdown has hit three weeks, as it becomes one of the longest in history. The shutdown reached its 21st day on Tuesday, October 21. On Monday, the U.S. Senate failed for the 11th time to advance a House-passed measure to fund the government and end the shutdown.
“The House is expected to remain away from Washington this week as GOP leaders continue to put the responsibility on the Senate to reopen the government. The House hasn’t voted since Sept. 19. Speaker Mike Johnson said he would bring the House back if the Senate voted to pay federal workers and members of the military, but indicated he thinks that is unlikely,” CBS News reported.

While the U.S. Government has been shut down, President Trump has been spending some weekends at his golf courses.
The President of the United States has prominent golf courses in New Jersey, Washington, D.C. and Florida.
President Trump, who took office in January, has been spending a lot of time on the golf course in his second term. He’s played dozens of rounds of golf since January. President Trump recently played a round of golf with his granddaughter, Kai Trump.
President Trump told to ‘get off’ the golf course
House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-N.Y.) said Monday needs to take a more hands-on approach with the shutdown, adding that he needs to get off the golf course.
“Donald Trump definitively needs to get involved,” Jeffries told reporters in the Capitol on Monday.
“He needs to get off the sidelines, get off the golf course, and actually decide to end this shutdown that he’s created.”
Jeffries doesn’t think anything will change until President Trump gets involved.
“We know that House and Senate Republicans don’t do anything without permission from their boss, Donald J. Trump. And the reason why there have been no negotiations — zero negotiations since Republicans shut the government down — is because Donald Trump clearly wants the government shut down. He wants to inflict pain on the American people,” Jeffries said.
“And this will not change until Donald Trump gives Republicans permission to sit down with Democrats.”
