My favourite course ever. No question.

This is my favorite golf course in the world. Natural golfing majesty steeped in history and a true test of ability, patience, and moral fiber. No, it’s here. Coastal erosion it’s fallen in. But maybe not for much longer. I don’t think I’m going to stop smiling. Literally grinning like an idiot. Come on. Best pot in the world. You’re royal. We’re making golf love to each other. What a magnificent erection. That’s my best shot of the day. What if this course isn’t here for future generations to enjoy? A place that holds a truly special place in my heart. This is Royal Abedine. Morning. [Music] Okay. today. I am excited. I am nervous, weirdly, and I’m just delighted to be able to make this video. So, I’ve been up in Scotland with Golf Breaks. We’ve been on an amazing trip. And today, we’re just kind of due to be going home. It was a bit of a free day. There was nothing um happening. Now, we’ve ended up staying in Abedine. And Abedine is home to my favorite golf course on the planet, which is Royal Abedine. I’ve never filmed that. [Music] Do you want anything more? Uh, just Yeah, water’s good. Yeah, but I’m not hungry now, so I’ll try and imagine what you’re going to be like in an hour. Okay. [Music] I really like the pool house as well. [Music] And here we are, the first hole. There’s so much history in this place. I mean, it’s quite literally the sixth oldest golf club in the world. We are walking through history today. Our feet are stomping a path in the ages. and hopefully we’ll have a round to match. This is a scratch golf episode, so we do have our score goals. 17 under, we are looking for a gold medal. Anything up to 75 is a silver and then anything up to 80 is a bronze. Anything above 80, we don’t deserve to be here and I will be banned from Royal Abedine for life. I’m so excited. I’m so excited. Par 71, par4 to begin with. Look at a view. This is the cruise ship, by the way. Absolute beast. Right, it’s 280 to that left bunker. It’s not a golf course. You can overpower this. We actually have to play a little bit of golf. So, all right, boys. Play well. Oh, man. Left semi, I think. Yeah, it’s pretty safe. Good angle in. Got to be tactical around this. First swing of the day. I don’t think I’m going to stop smiling like no matter what happens scorewise. Buzzing. Absolutely buzzing to be here. I mean, we’ve played a lot of new style links this trip. This is links. This is traditional proper is not the right word, but you know, this course was made when they didn’t have they couldn’t move a lot of earth. So, it’s just set naturally into the landscape as much as possible. Got 175 pin. Literally no wind. Going to be landing this. I think I obviously don’t know what the greens are like. So I think we want to be landing this just a bit short of the pin. I’m going to go a be good. Oh, is that short? Oh, no. It’s good. Like it took a weird bounce through the shadow then kind of confused my eyes. All right. barely put on the first me royal aine. Oh, we’re making golf love to each other. Ah, literally grinning like an idiot. I forgot last time the beaches up in Abodine are really pretty beautiful, but kind of just depends on the day, doesn’t it? Right up the hill. It’s just going to move back to the right at the end. Whatever happens today, I’m not going to get frustrated. It was a good put. It was a good par. It’s just going to take a little bit of adapting. Played the new corset um trump international yesterday and the greens were very furry, quite slow. These look pure, pure than pure. [Music] Second old par five, but it’s stunning. I mean, look at this. It’s a proper golf course as well. So, I’m not I’m going to take driver out here. Can’t literally can’t bash it. Got to finesse this course a little bit. The only thing I’m hoping for here when this lands, I need some chase if I want to try and get home in two. Go on that big old bounce. Go on. Go on. Okay, it’s not too bad. Might be a touch far back. Just came out of the top of the club. It’s okay though. Fairway found. And that’s what you got to do around here. You got to be a little bit more well pragmatic about the shots. Bit far back. So that bank off the tea was 290. I just wanted to try and scramble it up there if possible. Leaves me about 300 to go. Right where I want to land the ball, there’s like a couple of bunkers. So, I’ve got a choice of almost like hitting a seven iron up the right or trying to hit a mini driver and trying to get it chasing up there as far as possible. I think like a mini driver up the right hand side wind behind as well whatever there is. So just that draw. Let’s keep right. Okay. It’ll be up there. Probably just left of the green. Struck it. Great. A calculated risk. But there’s no like water or ditches or anything around this green. Have a stupid grin on my face all day. Do flies up. Not that excited yet. Okay. Pretty good. If you’ve uh I think he should be out by now, but did a swing quest video with uh Parker McGloin short game chef. My ship has been pretty good since that lesson. I kind of forgot a few of the things he was saying and after we edit it and rewatched it. I’m back. I am back, baby. Okay. What’s that? Part Birdie putter been on fire recently. New grip. Feeling good. I’m feeling fine. Got roll arine on my mind. [Music] 200 y. A little bit downhill and a little bit downwind. Just a touch. So, I want to be carrying this around 190, which is around the front of the green. So, I’m going to go seven. Gosh, what a place. What a place. It missed the bunker. Sure. Fatted it. I fatted it. Ah, got so excited. I ate a full on fat ball. I don’t even mind. What a spot. All right. Fairly longest shot needed. This about 3 4 foot short. So, I should be able to get a bit of check out of here. Go on. Go on. Go on. There. Two fats in a row. Fat. Fat. But look at this. Look at this rake is unbelievable. Tell us that. This is a new green which has been popped in. Just got little undulations in. It’s going to be a little bit right to left. Right at the end. This would be a hell of a par save. Just too far right. Oh, bit Nigel Farage that. Okay. Bogey. And if we’re going to be completely honest about it, it deserves a bogey as well. Fat T-shot. Fat second too firm and right with the putt have a park through three holes. We’re having a good time. We’re enjoying ourselves. The sun is out. It’s my favorite course in the earth. That would have been good. Favorite course in the earth. I did I did everything right. I mean it is kind of in it. I mean it is in it but it’s more on it. [Music] Just look at it though. I just don’t think I don’t think you understand. Don’t think you get it. Look at it. I think it’s very difficult to get a combination of natural drama while still creating a really good golf course which isn’t just like quirky, which isn’t just silly. Oh man, this is stroke index one and I can see why. See, I could be a little bit more aggressive here with a driver. It’s 450 yards, but I’m thinking kind of hybrid again just to get it in play. I mean, this is something which you do tend to find. So, I’m going to hit trying to hit it around here. So, it’s 2 235 run out um from here, which is kind of over that way. So, we’re looking at about 270 odd run out there. Now you see this bit of the green here, you got a bunker protecting short, right? You see in the distance, the massive one and all this is going to feed in this way. So if you land it short, it should kick on and then you’ve got a collection bunker which is going to pull up an errant shot. And I just love little features like that. If you lay up far enough back, you know, you’re not going to be able to hit in with loads and loads of spin, but if you can land it short and actually trundle it, it just makes courses like so much more enjoyable that way. All right, high breezy is a great club. This right now just stop short. Stop short. Oh, almost like I meant it. 184. But again, we want to be landing this short, slightly downwind, and we’ve got that little slope on the front. 195 middle, so a little bit down breeze. It’s a good strike. Just a bit pulley. Just a bit pulley. Come on. Short game. Excellence needed. I don’t know how it’s ended up there. You see the green grass? It’s a little bit longer now. makes this simple if not delicate. I just got to land it like here. Yeah, I just hit it too hard. I think it would actually if I got a good lie, I might have preferred to be in the bunker though. A bit more spin. Come on. Best putter in the world. Time to show it. Can’t believe how firm they are. He absolutely smashed it down yesterday as well. Feel like most lynx courses over here, they do need a little bit of water. Just as long as we’re not playing when it happens. [Music] Thank you. Honestly, this this putter and grip combination has made such a massive difference to confidence. Square just sits really square. I’ve got this image of Jason Day in my head naked. [Music] Right. Fifth hole. 350 from the back tea. There’s rough around the green, but I’m thinking this might be the first chance to be aggressive cuz we’re slightly downwind like up near the green in a greasine bunk on the end of the world. All right. So, effectively straight at it. And if it misses, I just want it to miss slightly on the left. Go on. Get a kick in. I think there might be some thick rough there. So, hopefully we have a lie. If the lie’s okay though, actually should be fine. It’s just like a chop onto the green. God, that’s so just so spiky. I think we should be able to get a bit of elevation. So, I’m going to try and carry over the bunker rather than going to the side. It’s not have a massive amount of spin. So, I’ll land this short and let it run out. Ow! Ow! Ow! Pretty good. Pretty good. Maybe that’s what I need to play good shots. Just like a little bit of pain, like bit of a Dainci code. Need a shalice. A bird. All right. Just on the right edge. Wow. What a putter. What a putter. Best of the generation, I say. [Music] It just looks great for links greens. Like these are just perfect. We’re in about 10 10 and a bit smooth. These little undulations that are kind of difficult to navigate, but they’re easy to see. It’s not like a a super subtle type of green. Royal Abadema, [Music] right? Par five. Oh. Oh, that’s annoying. Well, not annoying. It’s good course design. Bloody bunkers right where I want to w it. I mean, with this one, we have like a big old ridge to the right hand side. I just want to carry it on top of that. We got 300 run out um to the bunkers. So, again, it’s a hybrid. It’s a par five, so it’s going to be hopefully if I get this hybrid going down there and chasing out to about 280, then I might be able to get an iron on the second and chase that up as well. It’s a little bit further left than I wanted. Yeah, little funnel down that end. Just don’t think I would have quite got the distance I wanted going down that side, but I wish I was Scottish, man. And I’ve had a look through my um like not not that many generations but a couple to try and find some like Scottish ancestry. And I might have to dig back even further. I’ve not found anything. I’m like I amum I mean half my I’m half Latapian on my mom’s side. But then my dad’s side I’m as Anglo-Saxon as they come. I’m like you might as well just trace me all the way back to the Saxons. I’m pretty sure that side of the family was here when the Romans came. It’s like so annoying. Never went beyond Hrien’s wall. 220 left in. Wonder if I can like try and run like a six or a five iron. Line is directly on the like the hump of the bunker. Landing it short. Letting it bound bit right. And it didn’t come out very hot. That’s going to be short. That’s annoying. Well, I say that. I think it’s going to be short, but we can cut all this out if I’m wrong, can’t we? It’s not difficult. We control the head. Yeah, it was a bit right. Not line ideal to be honest with you. It’s kind of like an open face chop. Just got to land it over this hump. Maybe in the semi. It should kick on. There is like a ridge behind the pin. So if it does go long, at least it’s got a bit of a back stop. Yeah. Just got to get it out. That’s pretty good. That’s pretty good. Very good either. I’ll take that. Look like it’s just inside, right? [Music] That’s disappointing. [Music] I was so focused on the line that there’s like just like a little little spot in front of my ball. I was like, just get it to the right of that. Just get it to the right that pace will take care of itself. But it was just a little bit uphill and I’m just a little bit stupid. Next. Decisions, decisions, decisions. So, it’s 360 or 370 practically. And again, it’s one of those where could smack driver and could be able to get close. Like with this wind and how firm it is, it would it have to be a perfect drive. And there are bunkers around the green, but annoyingly the bunkers around the green as well, they’re a little bit short off the surface. Now, that would mean obviously a longer Sorry. Sorry. I listen, I feel dirty and I get it. If you’re angry at me, I completely understand. So, this is the play. Yeah. Sorry. Sorry everyone. But it’s the shot. Very good. It’s the shot. Trying to get a good score. Trying to play well. Trying to balance the balance the combination of risks and reward. And I think I’ve done a good job on that one. Little Tommy Fleetwood 34 pitching wedge straight at it. [Music] That wasn’t a very good strike. Hope there’s not I might have just hit a real stinker there. Uh, right. We’re absolutely fine. Uh, pin high, which is a sign of quality ball striking. So, what I actually understand is my yardage is down to the uh down to the the foot. All right, we’re up the slope. It’s just going to break a little bit this way at the end. Not a lot. Flag out. It goes in. Flag out. It goes in. That was dead center. Oh, one thing we have noticed since we’ve been up here, every course we’ve played, the flags. [Music] It’s like they get strong winds or something. Okay, we remain one under par and now we have this just this stunning example of a Lynx par three. I think most great Lynx courses have path 3es at least sometimes like this where it’s not that long. So yeah, 140. I mean, at the at the back, it’ be maximum maybe 1 160, but just look at all the bunker and it’s like completely surrounded slope on the left. So you kick it back to the right. I don’t think I’m going to go that far left with this pin, though. I’m going to try and take it pretty straight at it. Uh right, 140 into wind off the right. This is now time to trust my yardages. So 150 is now a nine iron. It’s just like a normal swing with a nine. Oh, come in a bit. No, don’t stay there. How’s it stayed there? It stopped at its pitch mark. Why? Why? If that pitch is here, it’s stone. Dad, right, we are right to left down the slope. Just a nice piece of put that’s coming out. It’s a bit too firm. Bit too firm on that line. Okay, no harm, no foul. Ah, could have been a great. Anyway, one under par still. Ninth hole. This is it’s a new tea which was put in for the Walker Cup and it’s stunning. [Music] No. Well, it was just here. It’s here. I’m gutted. Erosion. Coastal erosion. It’s falling in. tea was here and look how it’s all gone how it’s slanted this way. I feel like I’ve like lost something. That is devastating. I mean I mean one of the problems with coastal courses I mean you do have erosion and especially with dunes this big things are going to fall away. Things are going to move and dissipate towards the ocean. I mean you can see an old World War II pill box there. What’s happened to that? And the ocean has reclaimed this back tea box. It’s still an amazing hole from there, but what a pity. What a shame. Ah man. All right. So 430. It’s an angle to my line. See the marker post on the hill in the background. Uh to the right of that. So it’s either that with a cut. So, I’m thinking that with a cut to angle it along the fairway. That should be perfect. Should be perfect. I didn’t think I’d quite have that reaction. It’s like seeing a friend after ages and being like so excited to see them and something’s happened in their life like they’ve lost their job or they’ve broken up with their their partner or something which is affected them and you didn’t know like because you’ve not caught up in too long. All right up in the rough stuff on the right hand side like 110 to the pin. It’s just a bit of a gouge with a a lob wedge. Yeah, that’ll do. That’ll do. Not bad in the end. Should have check the course planner a little bit more thoroughly on that one. So, pins at the front. Just want to be landing this just a touch short kind of like towards the front of the green. Kind of one hop and check. All right, that’s pretty good. It’s pretty good chance for a four and to turn in one under. Level would be good though. Level would be good around this course. It’s just outside the right edge there. Lacking authority. All right, that’s a bogey. Not ideal, obviously. However, we turn nine holes, level par. Play some decent golf. Couple birdies, couple of bogeies. Bang. Nine’s going to be tougher because we’re playing back into the wind. [Music] Right. 354 yards. As you can see from the just absolutely bonkers. Um it’s there’s a a ditch which runs in front of the green so I can’t hit driver. And it’s 250 run out. Got the marker post here. So I’m thinking it’s just a just a four iron pitching onto the down slope. I’m going to switch to like a clean golf ball. I need to get a new shipment of uh of balls through. Right. So I’m going to go of the red marker as the sign suggests. All right. Oh, sorry. Bounce. Bounce. That’s a good sign. All right. We got 150 yards into the pin. Slightly into wind. I think how strong the wind is. So, eight iron is maybe 160. So, I’m still thinking it’s this in between the pin and the bunkers. Just slightly beyond. Come on. Oh, it’s thin. Oh, wow. Hello. Sit there now. Sit. Sit there. Stop. So, I don’t know if that is lucky or unlucky. That is either lucky cuz it’s Mr. Bunker and it’s rolled to the front edge of the green or it’s unlucky cuz it’s missed a bunker and it is now in the burn. Come all the way down, stopped before the runoff. Only need another few feet and it would have been all right. it. All right. Just kind of skipped right up that bank. Oh, couple of tests around the turn. I feel I’ve improved like most aspects of my game from well, literally all of them. Apart from my inability to get over a false front, it’s just like a It’s like an X that got away. You know, you keep trying to get over her and yet you just keep hitting it. Let’s just didn’t turn. Damn. One under to one over at the blink of an eye. Royal Abedine just gave me a hug and then reached over, grabbed my undies and pulled an alltime wedgie, [Music] right? It’s 170 yards. Thinking just a seven iron then. just a seven iron pretty much. I want to keep it to the right of the turbine as it sets off and then just let it drift to the left simmer. Just maybe clinging on to the back. Wow, that came out. Little bit of a pull, so it’s going to be quick. That came out spicy. Oh, I’ve just rolled off the back. Just got to get it to the top of this slope. Pins in like a little hollow. You know what? It’s a great hole in one pin. They’ve had a visit at the pin. It’s too firm. Too firm on that line. I mean, I want I wanted to make sure he got down the slope. Last thing I wanted to do is leave it on top. So, it’s kind of like shortsided. But I’m just fritt a few shots here. Come on. Come on, Royal Abedine. That’s me and you not fall out. [Music] Wow. Three bogeies in a row. I am on the train. No. No. We don’t We don’t want to be on this train, right? Come on. Give me a This looks like a par five. Come on. Let’s get this back. Let’s just focus on the shots. All right. So you got two bunkers up on the right which are pretty much directly behind this bunker here. Now they’re at 2 83 and you kind of pinch in on the fairway a little. So I think if I just try and hold a touch of a fade against this wind at the pin in the distance. That should be good. Obviously getting in the cross bunkers is not ideal, especially links ones. Come on. Tournament golf here. That should be perfect. Having a really good drive there. These these last few holes have like properly starting to like doubt what I’m doing. Like what am I trying to do? Like the shots I’m trying to play. Hey, it’s why it’s a great course. Like it gets you thinking. Bit unlucky. Bit unlucky. Just rolled in. I kind of You see like this hump here? I imagine it’s just funneled in off that cuz the fairway actually goes this way. So it must just funneled to the side. There’s 210 to the actual green. I don’t think I can get there. I’m just wondering if I can get an eight iron enough so it’s over this kind of short right trap. Okay. Yeah, I think it’s good. I think it’s good. kind of came out a wee bit left. Look at these. These rakes are just great. They’re so good. I think everywhere should have these rakes. Was it Where do we see it? First Jameson in Ireland. So, they’ve got they got like some teeth on the bottom and then this spindle. You just drop it, pull it towards you. Look at that. How good is that? H not sure whether to try and fly this or just land it a little short and just let it roll out. Oh man, came out really um it came out really well. I was hoping for a little bit more release than that. It’s a nice shot actually. It’s a nice strike. Needed a wee bit more. Actually quite a bit away. Pin eye on line every time. Need to remember that. Just giving it a little bit too much little bit too much pace and a little bit too much break. Okay, it’s a five off the bogey train. Two over. It’s leaving me 73. So for that gold, three strokes to make up. [Music] It’s three or four under 397. If I get a drive cooking, there’s two down slopes. There’s two down slopes and a driver gets over the trap on the right. Our wind seems to have dropped a lot. Yeah, I think we’re protected a little bit by this in all fairness. So, it must still be off the right. Let’s get a huge kick. I didn’t didn’t nail it. I didn’t nail it. I think it’ll be good, but I’m kind of hoping for the GT3 tech to save me just a little bit. Just a tiny bit out of the heel that one. So, but hey, what I found actually the the heel and the toe strikes from this, like normally with a heel strike, it spins up a lot. This one is it spins a touch more obviously but kind of not as much as say like the ping last year. Good enough to get down the first slow but did not reach the second right 90 yards which is perfect half 54. All right. I I did say before this round I wasn’t going to get frustrated. A little bit. A little bit with that one. That was like a nice nice number. A nice little when Hey, we’ve not hold a big long put today. Why not now? I’m getting annoyed. I’m getting annoyed. And I’m I’m not I’ve lost me concentration a little. Just trying way too hard. way too hard. It’s like a second date and you love the first date. Like first date might be the best first date ever and you’ve turned up to your second date and you’ve kind of forgot to put deodorant on and it’s got halfway through the night and you’re like, I’m starting to smell. I’m starting to smell a little bit and I don’t know I don’t know if this this is going to end well. She might walk out on me. Right. big left to right. The kind of put that legends make. It’s a good pot. Just a touch weak, man. All right. Three over. How many to play? Five. So, I think I actually understand my game a little bit better now. I think I need pra like a proper practice session, hardcore practice session. One round of golf to get back into it and then my next two rounds really good and I start to lose the thread. So, I need one good practice session every three to four rounds and to really kind of settle my brain in. What a magnificent erection. [Music] Please be a WD40 then. Come on. Come on. Come on. 14. It’s that clip where like you boot boot the football up there. [Music] Right. 14. So, we’ve got a couple of ditches here. Um, we’ve got 97. So we got 197 to clear those bunkers. We got 230 run out to the first ditch, I think. Oh, cut with the mini. Little cut with the mini. Oop, sorry. Ah, sit down. Just okay. I sliced it. Pretty unusual with this club. Uh, just depends on the line now. Oh, I’m going through a rough patch. Going through a rough patch. I am. Was that four over in five holes? Hitting it a little bit squiggly. Little bit squiffy. 150. Wind off the right. Ball sat massive. Just going to I’m going to try and hit like a a very high shot out of this because the ball’s set up so much. So I think with that it’s just a wedge. I’ll be good. That’s my best shot of the day. sat up about a foot off the ground. That was just a proper That was just a proper it swing. Just hit it. We’ve got a few holes left at my one of my favorite courses in the world and we’re going home afterwards. Come on. Actually, forget how still is the sea, by the way. It’s very blue today. Ham and cheese toasty. A go down a treat right now. [Music] What great line. What a great line. That’s a good second one today. Just about it. I was so invested in the line. Right. It’s a par. It’s a par. Four remaining. [Music] Now, this is a blind shot apparently. Maybe this is the one that Roy drove. I can’t remember which one it was. I’ve nuked it. I smashed that. I want that just into the I was going to say semi. Slightly thicker than the semi. Um, just got to get it over this first bunker. Should release from this lie. [Music] Yes. We’re so back. We’re so back. You know, I needed a little bit of luck. I wasn’t aiming that. It just It kind of like popped off the face a little bit right, but then just caught that down funnel to the left. I thought it was pretty straight. All right. Yeah, stuff like that is nice when that happens, isn’t it? Right. Come on. Birdie P. Straight up that slope. [Music] Ah, [Music] that was good. That felt good. Bit of a whack drive. Bit of a lucky second. Nice straight up the hill put. And the best thing about Abedine. Well, I’ve not actually shown you these. They’re on every green. vertebrael. [Music] Right. 16th hole. 380. Looks quite tight up there, doesn’t it? There’s a line on the edge of trees there. I I think we stay aggressive. I think we stay aggressive. These bunkers got to get past them. There’s some of the green side, but I don’t think I’m going to be able to reach them today into the wind. Right. Driver straight down. Just a little bit right on me. Yeah, nice kick. That was pretty good. It’s amazing. Like a birdie just makes you feel so much better, so much more comfortable. That felt really good. Maybe it was the birdie bell. There was the tinus which is currently smashing around my cranium. Look at that view. Sorry, boys. I’m uh You guys find your way home. I’m staying. 65. I fancy the uh like the runner again. It just looks like it should favor it. Pretty good. If I play more than golf, I reckon my short game would be mustard, which is a British saying for really good. I don’t know, puppy. Jeez. All right, we are absolutely cooking on gas. Got the bacon, got the eggs, got the lawn sausage, bap bap, ketchup. [Music] 170 playing 165. Wind is going to be all down off the right. See, I’ll toss a drone up where that’s Yeah. down to the right. It’s pretty strong actually. 165. So 160 is kind of like the new standard for my eight iron swing. So, let’s trust it. Two holes to go. Let’s try and strap in a little bit of focus if that’s entirely possible. It’s pretty good for distance. Just kind of pitch into that slow, didn’t it? What a great looking hole. So, I just chat to Richard, the course manager there. And I had thought about it on the third hole. There were some tees that were on the dunes as well, and they’ve fallen onto the beach. And apparently the coastal erosion is getting pretty bad that they’ve even built a new first hole. We saw I thought it was like a weird kind of cool practice ground, but it’s not because the first hole they’ve lost 10 m each year in the last two years off the back of the grain. So you got one of the best front lines in golf that in 20 30 years it might not even be here which is kind of tragic. So if you do have the opportunity to come and play, play cuz it might not be here for that long unless the defenses that they’re sticking in hold. What a melon collie thought birdie put just a tiny bit off the left hand side. Just blasted it. Just blasted it through. Oh, great job they’ve done with the greens, though, man. It’s kind of made me quite sad now. What if this course isn’t here for future generations to enjoy? Demonic pin as well, isn’t it? Right. Last hole, last chance. Can we get it back to a 71 before getting into that clubhouse, snuggling by the window, having some chicken nuggets, and patting each other on the head? [Music] Last hole. It’s a toughy. It’s 440 into wind. A little bit off the left hand side. Gors everywhere surrounding this fairway crowning it like the defenses of an old town. And that is the old town in the background of Abedine. Ignore the ugly tower box. Not my cup of tea. The line here is the pro shop with a touch of fade. Just imagine finishing off. Why? You’re very close. Cuz you stepped back. Just imagine finishing with a birdie. Come on. Oh, look at that green. Imagine that falls into the sea. Man, I feel really sad. Off North Sea. It’s always been the worst. It’s always been the worst sea. Settle. And that’s just on top of that bunker. Oh, that was a crap strike. Did not like that one. Ah, my te’s broke. That’s why. 171 left in. It’s a bit of a crappy drive to be honest. I’m limping home. Wind kind of feels a little bit off our backs now. Bit of a lie. I’m going to go seven. Sorry, complete lie. Eight. Don’t even know my numbers. Thinking it might fly a touch. Oh, be good. Be good. Chance. We have a chance. And that’s all that’s all I want. I mean, it’s a P for 71, so it’s going to be a silver kind of no matter what happens. But leaving something with a level par feels a lot better than leaving somewhere one over par. Leaving feels sad anyway. Parting is such sweet sorrow today. And guys, just want to say thank you for watching. Massive thank you to Royal Aine for getting us on. This was never planned. And to get on this golf course such short notice to film and to be made so welcome, it’s amazing. And it is just one of those courses which lingers at the back of my mind like the memory of what this place is like and the quality of some of the holes and the great times that I’ve had here which are make such a huge difference when you’re thinking about the golf courses that are the best. You know, it’s not just about design, location, history, and all those things. It is more about how they make you feel. And every time I come back here, every time I think of this place, it makes me feel happy. Right. Right to left. Chance for a closing birdie. Thanks for watching everybody. Subscribe if you haven’t already and we’ll see you next time. Who knows where our travels are going to take us next. Just wow. Well, Royal Abodine, let’s not leave our next meeting so long. Thanks for watching everybody. See you next time.

  1. I actually liked the Kevin McCloud style monologue as you walked onto the 18th green. I wouldnt hate it if you did more of them.

  2. The more I visit Scotland, the more I realise it's my favourite country. The people, the scenery, the culture. A wonderful land.

  3. One time Pete, get yourself down to Saunton (east) and St Enodoc. You'd fall in love yet again.

  4. Royal Aberdeen really didn’t do it for me. When up there I played cruden bay and trump international and both were way better than royal Aberdeen.

  5. Can anyone explain why he’s playing 3 hybrid off the tee and mini driver off the deck when It’s not for hazard avoidance?!

  6. 100% best golf channel on YouTube, great production detail and Pete playing some really tidy golf, great to see and great watch, keep up the good work

  7. Yet another superb video Peter- the editing and cinematography- oooh big word!!- are really second to none (well, maybe Carnie for those pesky Bryan Bros!! might rival it!!). Keep up the good work and cant wait for T'next one!

  8. Love it..all Peter's videos..always the best… Also delighted (for obvious reasons) that, even though Trump International was very impressive, that this old beauty still feels like a proper, undisneylanded links and gets Peter's full vote for best course…. 'That put was very Nigel Farage'..hilarious !:)

  9. I love the analogies. I was half expecting a “playing Royal Aberdeen is a lot like making love to a beautiful woman….“

  10. Pete’s reaction to this golf course is like mine whenever I play at St Mellion and the Nicklaus course, just love it! Another great video

  11. Nigel Farage and far right! Did I really hear that? Next Pete will be blaming the course corrosion on middle aged white men😂 Shiels takes the Saudi shekel and now Finch goes all Gary Neville on us…over to Golf Sidekick I go.

  12. If you ever rock up to a second date and suddenly realize you forgot to put on deodorant – tell your date. Do your best to apologize and laugh it off. Simple – only a fool keeps that to themselves and gets the anxious flop sweats (which smell extra nasty).

I'm a huge fan – keep it up.

  13. Grew up and live 20 miles away from this stunning links but still never played it. Must in 2026

  14. Another great vid Pete, BUT this course for us would cost £265 a round at this time of the year, I've just looked.. as this looks a great course. But comon us mortals, who can afford that ?
How about doing courses under £50 squid !??
Keep up the good work, your vids are the best !

  15. Just getting into golf and being 22 and a student it still feels like an incredible exclusive sport. Watching peter play especially near where I am from and all the other videos in between almost gives the channel a more inviting feel apposed to many others I have came across. Thank you!

  16. Please tell me you went and played Cruden Bay on this trip – INCREDIBLE course 30 mins from Aberdeen. Must check it out if in the area.

  17. Great video mate. You’re playing well but your content and personality second to none. Great work mate!

  18. Pete, if you get your roof fixed, maybe you can sell and move over here so we can watch you play with the Bryan Bros, Grant, and Bob more often. You and Walsh are the best.
