Golf club open day raises nearly £800 for charity

A golf club open day raised nearly £800 for charity.

East Devon Golf Club hosted its event on Tuesday, June 10, with 128 women from 31 clubs taking part.

Aside from the main competition, which was won by Sue Hughes, Anne Steele Arnett, Sue Irving and Catherine Ledger, the event featured a charity drive for Hospiscare.

The funds were raised through a raffle and the sale of golf clothes and books.

The event was praised for its welcoming atmosphere, well-prepared course and the efforts of the catering staff.

The club also received a visit from Hospiscare’s area fundraiser, Toni Hiscocks, who described the day as “fantastic.”

The success of the day was credited to the joint effort of the entire club, from the cake makers to the ball spotters, all contributing to a smoothly-run event.
