Adrien Saddier Triumphs at Italian Open 2025 for First DP World Tour Win
MONTE ARGENTARIO, ITALY – June 29, 2025 – French golfer Adrien Saddier, in his 200th start on the DP World Tour, clinched his maiden title today at the Italian Open 2025, overcoming a challenging front nine with a sensational back-nine performance to finish two shots clear of the field.

The 33-year-old Frenchman carded a final-round 4-under 66 at the Argentario Golf Club, bringing his tournament total to 14-under-par. Saddier’s victory marks a significant milestone in his career and earns him a coveted spot at The 153rd Open Championship at Royal Portrush.

Saddier started the final day one shot behind third-round leader Martin Couvra, also of France. After a promising birdie on the second hole, Saddier faced a rocky patch with bogeys on the fourth and eighth, dropping him three shots back from the lead at the turn.

However, the back nine saw a dramatic shift in momentum. Saddier ignited his charge with a run of four birdies in five holes from the 10th, catapulting him to the top of the leaderboard. A decisive birdie on the 16th, coupled with a dropped shot by Couvra on the same hole, gave Saddier a commanding three-shot advantage. He then safely parred the final two holes to seal his historic win.

“It was a wait. It was a long time to finally have the trophy in my hands,” an emotional Saddier stated after his round. “But sometimes you have to work hard and go through dark moments, you have to appreciate the journey.”

Compatriot Martin Couvra signed for a final-round 69, finishing solo second at 12-under-par. Scotland’s Calum Hill and England’s Dan Bradbury shared third place at 10-under. Both Saddier and Couvra’s strong finishes secured their berths in The Open next month. The Italian Open was the fifth of six counting events on the European Swing of the 2025 Race to Dubai.
