feel like you’re in north carolina or something love it swear to god it’s very cool it’s like it’s sick also fun fact this is the course that the biz attackers were at before they went to houston wow oh wow how crazy is that hey rigs what’s going on you ryan how are you hey good to meet you nice to meet you thanks for having me i appreciate you absolutely thanks for coming out how was the trip appreciate it it was a little dicey yesterday but we got here tough getting out or what weather little delayed flight and it’s all good did you late or you got in a decent late it’s all good all right well yeah i appreciate you coming yeah thanks for having excited to play yeah can’t wait this is a cool course i was telling these guys it’s not like um a lot of the desert golf it’s more like treelined awesome beautiful it’s a good spot yeah but yeah we’ll have a good time can’t wait obviously i hope i win but we’ll have fun can’t wait how you feeling great good how about you hey i’m feeling great another day at the office for you rigs another day you been able to play much up in mass ah not really that’s a bummer uh my name is andy popp i’m 34 years old i’m an oyster farmer i’ve been doing it since i was 14 my dad told me when i was 14 go get a job and uh i’ve been doing it ever since yeah it’s a good it’s a good quality of life um get to play golf played a lot more before i had kids but go to work early and go try and play 9:18 after work get home at a reasonable hour i probably started playing in really started playing in sixth or seventh grade i was trying to remember it was probably sixth or seventh grade um found out there was a golf team at the high school and i just started playing a bunch and and then after college i started playing a bunch probably five times a week and then life happens got married had three kids pretty quick and so i don’t play much anymore but i play on thursdays with the boys north hill country club so i believe you’re four handicap i am on the on the gym on the gym it’s pretty cool what what rigs does and everyone else and you guys do um so yeah i started following it and i’m like geez rigged swing is terrible and like everyone else have a few beers and send a message out and think it’s funny send it to my friends and they’re like “oh you got to keep this going.” this probably started what five years ago your first dm was “hey rigs you still [ __ ] suck pal.” which you know not not uncommon in the dms i’d say but then you started to challenge him and the boys for that matter to a match almost perfect for this series i agree you said “yo let’s do this four handicap let’s play a match.” you said quote “prove yourselves to the public you think you’re [ __ ] cool because you beat pros in a scramble you guys are embarrassing i’ve been asking to do a match for years [ __ ] answer me i also will play rigs or the ugly dude i don’t know who that one is i don’t know either come on let’s make something happen stop ignoring the public it’s a bad look for you guys p.s you still [ __ ] suck post my inbox too i would love that grab your [ __ ] balls figure it out you run a golf podcast play the [ __ ] public make a fool out of me and here we are here we are so it could happen i could he could make a fool out of me or it’ll be a good match it’s fun you know i i knew one day someone was going to answer me so i kept going and here we are i love it uh i think rigs’ handicap is real i mean he plays a lot of golf plays a lot of real golf courses too but yeah his swing is his swing is gross and i’m just being honest i mean he’s on he’s on camera and you get to see it you know i never see my swing mine could be just as bad as his but i all morning i was like pacing in the hotel i like sweating like it’s different playing on camera i think you what did you say you said something do you think you can play on camera and i said as long as i can get the ball on the first tee we’ll be all right all right smash it here it’s short hole i almost hit 51 but that club’s a little too small uh we can handle any kind of jittery stuff with a little truly unruly lemonades my guy went a little left there he uh swung really hard i know that this is the driving range so we’re going to have a bunch of golf balls out here rig is that a black and red dot it’s a black six okay i’ll look up here in case it got through that i got it right here you got it yeah had a boy i was going to say i could have been ugly trying to find that thing but with all the balls kind of unlucky but we got it doing my rory drill again i was listening to rory was on the whoop podcast before he played in the masters tournament and won it and he said a lot of the breathing exercises that he does when he’s in competition is four in six out 4 seconds in six seconds out to control your heart rate so i’m going to slow your ass down 130 a little wedge today not great not horrible i just have to punch out i don’t think i can get over that all right good play all right good start 75 run might get away with it that’s it that’s it could have been a worse result so easy on camera is it this young man looks a little bit intimidated if we’re honest ball mark didn’t see many of those yesterday so firm yeah it’s nice huh much better field thank god we have that when i first got here it was stagnant and there was no wind and it was hot i was like “this is going to suck i’m always amazed at how impressive people are when they come out of the gate travel this young man looks a little surprised looks a little uncomfortable rigs you like him in or out uh you can take this one out thank you and andy there’s literally no one on the course today so you can take as much or little time as you possibly thank you yes sir jesus little too hey i think it’s you jesus good try all right it’s good sixer yep it’s good thanks ugly but that’s a win all right one up jesus believe it or not ladies and gentlemen boys and girls children of all ages i’ve won the first hole in a hater match played the hole well bit of a three- wiggle but that’s okay had to get it done tiger woods made bogey on the 72nd hole of mast’s tournament you know why cuz that’s all he needed to win same deal 27 all right this is a cool hole isn’t this wild how different this is from like desert gall sick it’s really cool they did a great job of this spot down in the old valley not very pretty but it’s fine looks great yeah good swing thanks little nervy ain’t it sweating yeah nerve sweating all right couple loose wedges from me but not horrible really solid shot from andy there let’s make a putt though not not not in terrible spot do you live in boston after playing in boston at all yeah i was uh souy for god five years maybe four good times it was awesome and then uh that’s back when like playright was still there i don’t know if that’s still there i don’t think i don’t think so boston beer garden yep we go there all the time uh dalton and the sheriffs would always play at the playright he’s the best zombie uh and then i lived in back bay for like a year and a half what about you uh pretty much always been in dubberry oh is that right i uh went to school in newton for a couple years went back home knock it in get some birds on the board it’s good good park thanks good putt thank you okay straight we all straighten golf course trulies are good good rigs yep all good thank you all right jared kind of sprayed one right here on this long par4 we got 230 we got to hook it around this tree we kind of got to hook lie so jesus take care of the course you know everyone getting a little excited i send it up over here with like 30 yards of draw so see how that goes oh [ __ ] come out right that branch just came down straight down um i’ll go so he can take his time all right i got 135 i think it’s a front pin thanks 36 i think the pin is like over there god get up cutting everything i have no idea where that’s at can’t see anything over here he’s i think he’s front right anybody see mine at all i think you’re front right it made it we just couldn’t see anything it looked like it made it i got no idea yeah you’re just you’re just off rigs good shot thank you these greens are rock solid huh yeah they are firm almost slam dunked it had to try what a putt thanks five times five times ain’t going to matter much but not make you birdie all right that’s good all square folks we got ourselves a dog fight andy’s got some game that’s a hard hole hit himself a nice drive nice second i got some game too tell myself that [ __ ] it keep grinding keep battling five think it might carry that yeah i don’t know how far that bunker is but it will what was that got a lot out of that fairway jesus christ it’s a good hole to do it on boys did i just do it again did i walk in front of the what the tracer talk to him about the tracer try the mini driver again see how we do off the deck run jesus christ another dribbler no pictures on the scorecard though back to back all right i got 275 to the pin great ball there thank you going to hit a smooth sixiron in a divot which is nice never like to see that stay there i think it is maybe left rough i think sad bounce right yeah it should be fine all right two pretty ugly swings there but still going to be able to reach this green okay we got 212 i hit a four iron up that left side bunker all right another 60° wedge so let’s not scull it again lost the swing there a little bit for a couple holes but still all square let’s get up and down i can make a birdie somehow get through this with no blood would be heroic and then we’ll start to dial it in i just gota commit to what i’m trying to do i know what i’m trying to do get onto my right side and then just fire everything from your right side towards the hole 75 60° wedge again shot thanks didn’t skull it he’s short of the bunker ah [ __ ] me god it’s so [ __ ] devastating let me know what you want with the pin you can just leave it in for now thanks that guy’s unbelievable yeah right jesus uh you’re good par yeah good par thank you why not up it should be good 290 like all carry i don’t got like a dry little kind of feel about him which i truly generally enjoy out of people if i can’t get over the stuff they said it’s just kind of like unacceptable i don’t know very very interesting situation as as they all are uh just just to the right of this bunker i think i have a stance too oh boy bunker back there oh the bunker sounds sick sick 80 yards another little wedge fly fly oh man look at that spot how is that staying there we got some weird [ __ ] results today so far damn it that’s a terrible shot damn that was a good opportunity to throw it in there couple nice stances right right before that hill all right i think it kicked left yeah that’s where you were on three right i don’t know if that’s the same hole but all right guys quick quick break in the action i know you love these videos thank you for watching i’m much more competitive now and i love dusting these hater losers and these have been massive in helping me do that the r seven quad mini driver from tailor made i got the 11 and a half so i basically use it as driver and just hit these piercing ones out there instead of my high floaters to the right and then this 7wood this thing can get you out of jail if you’re in jail heavenwood sevenwood scotty uses it i’ve been using it so big thanks to tailor made gotta dig deep only one down haven’t really hit a good putt yet except the bogey putt that didn’t matter on three so got to dig [ __ ] deep here find some stuff all right 132 wedge plenty of green right of it hit his front left winds off the right should be able to start it just right of it hit a good solid wedge got 96 yards another front pin can’t see the green but wind into the face all right i don’t think that’s too bad but god that looked good [ __ ] me rigs is on the front collar here [ __ ] me just a nice smooth 56 all right shot front of the green take that oh i’ll take that all day that’s a good shot got to roll this thing in got to roll one in here you surprising yourself so far today i mean yeah after that first hole i thought i was going to be done on 10 daily nine daily nine that’s good thank you sir want out i assume yes please try it’s good thanks all right remain at one a little bit pillowy as of this golf course is awesome it’s cool isn’t it yeah dude it’s got great visuals to it i mean and it’s tight it is tight i know hit the ball straight it’s a little like intimidating off tea in a different way than a lot of the desert golf stuff y i see the silvers guys you got you got it this time i see him right there one for six i got him [Music] 96 rigs 96 it looks like a friendly pin too jesus christ all right mr andy remains one up that looks pretty good it’s a little long tough to see but i can’t really see i think i see something up there there you go putting all right rigs where did you play before harvard i went to prep school at cho oh okay in uh connecticut where are you from st louis originally and then i played a year of junior hockey for john cooper in st louis actually oh nice um sweet st louis bandits there you go all right that’s a long par three another win 195 i believe it was nerves are kind of gone it’s always a plus you hockey guy yeah i i stopped after high school but i grew up playing all that [ __ ] and yeah it was actually kind of funny i was i needed i was a kid that needed the coaching then our team split up when we were probably 10 played together since we were like seven and it just kind of lost it yeah but it’s a great sport it is great i’m a little bummed i got like burned out in college and didn’t take it that seriously well it’s every day every day it’s like outrageous how and i just hated it yeah by like the end i hated it and looking back now like i would have put my heart and soul into it because it’s so sick but i like regret that big time we’re a big uh lacrosse town and i had a bunch of my friends play division one and they they stopped playing because it’s so much good old seven iron bump and run cuz they can’t chip travel damn got to hit the ball dude good roll thanks dude then the summer we’d call it summer dogs like a bunch of us would stick around and do the weightlifting thinking it would like earn us favor and stuff you know and we would do 6:00 a.m to 8:30 we would do an hour and 45 minutes of hard lifting like dude like hang cleans to like your last set you’re doing like 95% of your max and then like squats all the [ __ ] and then we would go do another 45 minutes of hardcore cardio like running the harvard football stadium you driven by that thing you know that one yeah it looks like the coliseum so we would do that [ __ ] thing for like 45 minutes we would just run every stair on it we would do that five days a week in the summer and it got you nowhere zero i didn’t even dress like the first month of the season i was like “all right you know what i’m gonna do i’m gonna go get a bunch of keystone lights and i’m going to [ __ ] drink and try to hook up with beu chicks.” yep right boys and girls we are against all odds we’re all square not playing our best we started to heat up a little bit had a good five iron in there maybe nice par [Music] it’s a tough hole look at this yeah this is cool wow see how my t-shot goes and i’ll tell you if it’s [ __ ] cool or not it’s sick for now yeah i might be like that hole [ __ ] sucks all right we are all square through seven safe yeah be a ways out still i think yeah this is a cool one this whole place is way cooler than i even remembered it i tell you about my buddy clint from louisville he can’t say like the letter l basically so he’s always like every time we come off a hole he’s always like that’s good golf hoe he just like golf so we all do it now even when he’s not there that’s tough golf ho yeah dude that was a bullet good one thanks yeah that’s tough golf ho rings wow what a hole all right i feel like i’m i’m playing well i don’t think i’m scoring great but it’s a little different little little tense this is fun [ __ ] though all right jd i got 170 hit seven here all right good shot [ __ ] a little thanks all right thanks hit it a hair thin so it rolled out a little i wanted i wasn’t sure if it was like knuckling over the green yeah all right i got 140 pitching wedge kind of looks like there’s two tears just going at rigs’s ball there little thin but think it’s going to work d three that’d be nice feeling pretty confident i mean after the last hole kind of what a shot from there thank you wow mine was up in here somewhere at some point yeah it was like probably three four feet on all right all right got to make it that’s those new new wedges i know too much little too much groove action nice touch thanks that’s for five for five that’s good thank you all right make the eagle little birdie eagle stretch would be nice i didn’t even hit it i thought for sure you were pouring that in i wanted you to i’m going to lose i want to lose to eagle i wasn’t trying to lag that i was trying to make that good birdie though thank you all right two down first two down of anybody for the day all right backto-back birdies there from andy tough for me but uh you know a little easier to swallow uh so i want to win i don’t want to lose to good golf i want to just win so he needs to chill the [ __ ] out with that stuff and uh i got to start making some birdies so i was like checking it deciding to make some birdies [Music] [Music] that bunker on the left’s up by the green is that what it’s saying i think that’s what it’s telling me all right rigs i’m two up going into 10 you are two up at the turn my friend you’re playing some great golf i think i had you down in a 38 i shot a 40 so so far in the hater match that is the best allaround golf we’ve seen so far so i don’t ever like to be losing but at least i’m losing to some good stuff now if you just chill the [ __ ] out you know make a couple mistakes andy that i gave you the double that’s not it doesn’t help me that much only won me one hole yeah perfect this way thank you i never saw it it just drew just missed that last bunker on the right barely okay and drew just passed it i think see these are the weird ones you know out there for everybody is the uh the hater series when the guy’s kind of a prick or an annoying prick or whatever is pretty straightforward when the guy’s like actually pretty likable normal guy but then you contrast that with some of the [ __ ] set online it’s always a little weird it’s a little bit of a weird one it’s hard for me to muster up the fire but i got to find it i always i always want to win but got to find that fire [ __ ] learn to hate this [ __ ] 92 yards this absolute tiger 2000 hit it way up there 40 yards short of the green so we got to hit a good shot here all right good shot thank you thank you all right i got 40 yards kind of a tricky shot here rigs is in there tight sit drop nice shot in there rigs thank you good try it’s good good roll good three thank you there’s some birdies being made in this match jesus you got to hit some shots out here some of these guys i’d play were winning holes with doubles yeah where’s your doubles no [ __ ] give me some doubles no no nothing all right one down take three thanks [Music] 171 thank you yeah let’s roll off the back just on the on the right fringe there oh yeah yeah just deep back left maybe maybe on it’s good strike very good strike you know there’s not a ton of [ __ ] talking in this one because he’s just not a shit-talking kind of guy and the golf has been really solid although he did try to make fun of my socks i think my socks are cool i think the golf’s kind of doing a lot of its talking right now one down putt off we got ourselves a putt off similar spot you’re obviously closer what do you like and out uh yeah you good with an out from there yeah that’s good what’ you say that’s good thank you not ideal aggressive i don’t mind the aggressiveness wow how did that not go is that all square rigs it’s all square andy all square going into 12 [ __ ] that’s [ __ ] terrible that’s a big moment i don’t know how that ball didn’t roll into the hole [ __ ] dying speed caught some of the hole just just didn’t want to go in for him so it’s a shame [Music] i think it’s going to be good good one yeah at a boy yeah it’s clear the bunker all right we got we got a golf match here this is this is good stuff go get forward that was a bold move three-wood fairway bunker fivewood i gave myself an extra long you got that game huh i was feeling good i had an uphill line thought it would come off a little higher and it didn’t i went for it you know was bold bold player what do you got nice swing thanks all right i got 173 i think it’s a front stick hitting a sixiron into the wind that was a tough lie oh what a kick all right good shot that’s what it’s all about all right i had 190 there it was about as pure of a five iron into the wind here as i could hit i got a good look for birdie nice little bounce our boy got there but he does not have the easiest up and down so i should have a pretty good look here to uh at least tie the hole maybe win it we’ll see our boy andy in person nice guy online psychopath has um lost two holes in a row just hit one of his worst shots i’ve seen so far got a decent kick let’s see what his flop game’s like go all right just going to have a putt think he’s uh it’s me correct yeah you want yeah yank that please yes sir can i mark this nope no you cannot nice try though can’t mark it if you don’t ask that’s for sure that was a joke there’s no in between hick it up thank you five firing that’s for five right good par very nice going to the 13th hole easily the best golf we’ve ever seen in this matches i believe i’m three over and andy is three over [Music] all right all square correct all square six left got a match going here this is a great golf match my friend hard to tell go just keep going it is yeah got out there nicely that’s perfect all right it’s a little hot out here kind of got to get back in the groove six to play all square i think we’re in a good spot this kid [ __ ] does this every day right get on it please and i was like “no maybe i shouldn’t.” in a little indecision i think a good player would back off there instead i just yanked the wedge long and left to get up and down again this is what it’s all about right this is it this is this is good good old fun golf match play right here it’s probably the trickiest putt i’ve had today is that all wow great putt thank you good nice putt rigs thank you
