Highlights from the second round at the 2025 KLM Open where play was suspended during the day as players battled extreme winds and gusts during Friday’s play in Amsterdam.

And what a part Oh that’s just incredible We have seen some putts today Here’s Lithal Ball sitting nicely 34 yd bunker shot He did not go with his most lofted club What a shot that is from Larble Supposed to be one of the hardest shots in golf 30 when he gets sort of 30 yards to 40 and even a bit more It’s kind of so far so good for Marcus Kennalt right hand with a poor part back at eight He’s really was a cracker wasn’t it This is not an easy shot even from the fairway The wind is helping in from the right And you have to start this off on the right fringe to get it online Getting the distance correct is unbelievably difficult Oh I thought there was going to be a little kiss there Not quite Great shot Not as good as Pablo’s but fine effort all the same Not sure I’d fancy being a pilot on a day like this Look at that It’s got a bit of a wobble on Whoa Do you know It must be pretty much on the limit I’m not sure what the limit is of of winds to land in but about the pilot I wouldn’t like to be a passenger right now They actually don’t count towards the European swing although they do to the race to Dubai And the rider cup as well Now what’s that Is that an angry driver or is that No that’s the sound that we did not want to hear The hooterra has gone and play as yesterday has been suspended here in Amsterdam over at times over the years and there might be some concerns about tomorrow Okay Pablo Thanks man Well Miguel the tournament director joins us So Miguel we saw a suspension due to the threat of lightning yesterday So what’s the reason for the suspension for today Well basically we knew it was going to be a windy day Um however we were not expecting the the the the stronger gust that we’ve had say from about 3:30 in the afternoon We’ve been having sustained winds of 15 20 mph gusting on 25 high 20s but suddenly from say 330 and onwards we’ve probably had a few gust of you know 35 plus and it’s due to oscillating balls No not really oscillating basically moving U normally normally with uh you know we can deal rules of golf can deal with occasional ball moves that’s okay Uh but when it becomes widespread uh all around the golf course then that’s what we you know we we we deem the course to be unplayable specifically hole number five because of exposure to the wind and the wind direction was giving us a lot of problems and we try to keep going for another good 15 20 minutes but the gusts keep kept coming back at you know 35 36 37 mph which was more than we we expected even though the greens we have them at a speed that we felt and we knew that they they could hold you know gust of 25 or you know between 25 and 30 but not beyond that And how do you determine when play can actually resume Well basically we’ve been uh obviously we we’ve having referees out there measuring the wind the wind strength and uh obviously we have the the weather a weatherman who’s got a few wind gauges out on certain points on the golf course elevated points We’ve seen a slight decrease in the wind gust over the last 30 minutes and we’ve basically just told the players that we we’re going to make our announcement in about 10 15
