The penultimate hole at Oakmont for this week’s US Open gives players a choice — lay back, or go for a green that will be running 14+ on the Stimpmeter?

We had 5-time PGA TOUR winner Sam Burns play a par-4 two ways — aggressively and conservatively — at a recent @callawaygolf shoot. Which gave him the best chance at making birdie?

[Music] what’s up everyone Sam Burns here we’re out here on a short par 4 got a couple different ways we can play this hole little more aggressive taking driver right at the green it’s kind of a force carry with water short and then you can play a iron shot out here to the left play a couple different ways and see how it goes all right that’ll work this is a 4 just trying to play it to the end of the Fairway there should be good so we got like 65 yards here uh pretty good into the wind so I’m going to take a 56 try to take a little bit of spin off try to hit kind of a lower flighted one in [Music] there looks to be pretty good all right got about 30 35 ft right to left all right we got the 10 pu led up little left to right not much in it birdy with the layup guess it’s a layup hole it’s how you three putt par and get up and down from 70 yards
