playing nicely as well. Cup under. So, if he could make the cut, that would be a tremendous performance. He’s been out in the cold for a long time. And hello, this goes very close. In you go. Wow. Rolling back the clock there. That was splendid. Well, apologies. who seem to have some problems with Chris’s might. We’ll come back to him in a moment as we watch Martin Kra wedge in hand. Nice bit of control there from the young Rory Mroy look alike with the hair. Look, that place is good. Yeah, nicely done. Impressive. shot. [Applause] Did it [Applause] million air miles for a hole in one. Rightly so. If you hold in one, you will be smiling. The two go together nicely. What’s Coover got for us here? asking it to get up. Go on then. On you go. Oh dear. Oh dear. Didn’t want them. He’ll be back tomorrow. He’ll be very happy if he makes that because he’ll have a share of the lead. Turkish Airlines fly to more destinations than any other airline in the world. More countries and so you could use them wisely. Oh, that was at it too. What a great shot from Thompson. All over the flag this group. Yeah. putting into the grain. Then it switches about halfway down grain. It should move off his left at the end. Great park. Great pass. Easy. What a doozy. Oh, there’s two. You saw the cup. Yeah, there’s two in just one to go. two. Yeah. And this to tie the lead with how Tong Lee impressive stuff, isn’t it? Six strokes for the three players to play the par 38. And more importantly, Kubra has a share of the lead with how Lee Long left really is your play. help. He’s playing great golf, isn’t he? This is absolutely We give you that one. He’s going to take the lead with that. Brilliant stuff from Kra. 121 yds for Matthew Jordan. Perfect yardage for that gap wedge. Little bit of down breeze off his right shoulder. That was smoother. That was a nice move. Ah, beautiful. You see that to me was just a little softer in transition, a better balance there, and that was a a proper golf shot. Will it get there? It will. It will. Great [Applause] [Laughter] put. Just under 130 for the Frenchman. Very much a flag you can get close to. Yeah, seen many birdies today and tonight. Tiger Christensen down the slug. Oh, go run a yard. A yard. That’s all it needed. It’s quite a mistake that actually. Oh, I tell you what, great effort. Great effort. Oh, magnificent. Quite brilliant. Quite brilliant. The chip was less than average. The putt was absolutely sensational. Now a winner on the DP World Tour, Marco Penge off the right. So right to left and there’s that one in four from 20 ft. Mark Row was mentioning what a time to hold a pup. Get himself under par. Not a bad effort at all. Hello. Oh, excellent effort. Surely it’s going to be a birdie for Martin Kubra to extend his lead at the top to two. And it is for birdie for my old partner of the Sebi Trophy. Back in the day, Paul Mcinley was our captain. We had a Graham McDow. We had Rory Mroy in the team. That was a team and a half. And he was always a good putter, wasn’t he? Yes, he was. Yes, he was. Could certainly play. We’ve seen a couple of club TWs from this sort of distance. He’s pretty dialed in. Cannot go long. Yeah, almost a bit of an advantage being on that down slope for me. Just taking a bit of spin off it with the back flag. Shout loud, please. Cover up for another birdie. Good, good try. It was a good try. Got good pace in his putts. He looks like he’s warming to the task. He looks comfortable. Chipping down the green. He should release quite a bit this. Oh, he’s on the run. He loves it. Bit lucky that. Yeah, it was Jamie. Absolutely was. It dug it dug its heels in very quickly. So, if you want to get close, you need some height on this T-shot, get it landing vertically. Good shot. Yeah, very good shot. Oh, lovely chubly for Yos Lon. back to five under where he started the day. Lton high quality approach shot and he gets under par for the first time today. Yoast. Well, you see, look, he had to work hard, didn’t he? Twisted the club like he liked it. ball below his feet helps. Oh, fabulous. That’s a great recovery. It really is. He did have to move that maybe eight to 10 yards. Oh, he’s off. Look, has he? Has he? Oh, it’s a great try. That’s turning a lot more than the players are seeing. He’s not the first player that has missed that one left, but it was a great try. Jean Biran from Armenia. First Armenian to play on the DP World Tour. Yeah, looking like he’s going to be around for the weekend, which is fantastic. But it’s your job, isn’t it? End of the day. It’s how you pay your bills. Left to right. Never missing that one for Longass. That was straight in the middle. Spency’s inspiring him. Yeah, nicely done. That’s a good run as well. Five birdies in six holes around the turn for [Music] Vilo. Well, I think he’s left this one out right. He’s going to need a big bounce. A big bounce. Come on. Oh, that has done so so well. It’s not finished yet. Although it’s 161 just because it’s uphill. Should be looking to lean on a nine. He was playing out of a divot. So just trapping this one. Yeah, he looked like he played that well. Yeah, that’s done. Great shot from that divot. There’s been a couple out there today. They’re popular spots. Players often do hit it in the same spot. So it’s very hard to to dodge the divots. Yeah, there’s nothing lucky about that, was there? That was a a really good recovery shot. Callum Hill, the Jerber Open winner, had a horrid start to the back nine. Made a double bogey at 10, dropped a shot at 11 as well. He has made birdie there at 18, but it’s not going to be enough, I’m afraid. And he’s going to miss by one. The most painful margin. Yeah, great birdie out of a divot. his best shot of the day and finishing in style. Brandon Robinson Thompson round a 71. Yeah, dead weight really is the way to play this. Couple of cups outside the hole. Drop it in. What a way to finish. What a round of golf. Bogey free. 66 for the 22year-old Frenchman Martin Kubra. And he leads by three here in Turkey. Seriously good golf that no bogey 66 got to put well but well he’s played well today Martan five under 66 today no bogeies on the card a birdie to finish you must be pretty pleased yeah yeah really happy about my game today. Always good to have a bug every so yeah just such a great run. Obviously that run of birdies towards the end of the the front nine was key but also how crucial was the par save on the 11th in terms of your momentum? Yeah, he was pretty good because on the te honestly I I hit a pretty nice shot but just on the left side and after make a very good putt. So yeah, it’s a very good part on this one. And are you the kind of player in the position that you find yourself on the leaderboard, do you change your game plan going into a weekend? No, no, absolutely not. I just try to to keep the same mindset on the golf course. Just keep on me every day and that’s it. What is it that’s going so well for you? If you can look back over the things that really worked well today, what would you pinpoint? Uh, my iron game was pretty good today and uh I make some putt at a good moment. So yeah, my iron game and my ping was good. It’s Friday night now. You’re obviously into the weekend in a superb position. Who will you be taking advice from going into the weekend? Because obviously as a rookie on the on the DP World Tour, you may not have had much experience in this position. Who’s around to support you and who will you be taking advice from? Uh, I mean, I’m going to just have some good time tonight with some friends like Goku, David Roto, and like some French player. And I mean, just be an off of off just uh just everything but off and that’s it. You won’t talk about golf at all. No, not not tonight. Well, go and enjoy it. Thanks very much, Ma. Thanks. J'aime beaucoup son jeu, au jeune français. Puissant et précis. Gros mental.
Chaud le Martin Couvra!
Très très chaud!
Allez Martin 🎉❤
Couvra reminds me of a young Johnny Miller of 55 years ago, and 3 years later won the US Open with a record finishing 63 at Oakmont after a 76! I hope he wins this Tournament! Great Play!
I now get the comparison a little bit from this kid Couvra and a young Mcilroy not just from watching his game but the interview at the end of the coverage. Great to see
French Mcilroy but this kid looks like he can handle the pressure pretty well 💪💪
Force 💪 🇫🇷👏 !
