I think you can drop the pressure even more. You say chip to 6ft, putt to 3ft, if you think you have 6ft short AND long of the pin, that gives you a 12ft circle to get it in. And for putting, a 6ft circle. For me, thinking about it this way, takes a lot of pressure off the shot.
