Aaron, what you like about JC era in that moment and ultimately how he handled it. Um I mean, Estrada is obviously really tough. Uh So it’s a tough matchup, preferred the lefty against them though. Um And JC can really hit, I mean , we haven’t seen it yet at this level just because he hasn’t gotten that many reps yet, but he’s a really good hitter and uh just a really good job there with two strikes, you know, um you know, Estrada gets ahead of him and, and, you know, he lays off the 12 up and out and Then just got enough of it to drive it out to left. So just, just a real quality pro at bat right there. What you see from Devin in the top of the 10th, nasty, I mean, look tough spot, you know, he come in, you got the, you got the ghost runner already out there and you know what he’s been through, you’re at the top of the lineup, you know, he gets , he gets a huge strike out of Tatis to start things off. Um Another one of Machado, you know, outstanding and Then, and Then uh, you know, runs it full there with Bogart and just executes a pitch. The changeup was great, but, you know, he was, he was in the counts from the start with his fastball. So, you know, it wasn’t, you know, I feel like being in the strike zone enough with that heater really set up, set up the change and the depth on it from the side and I looked, looked really good last two nights against their bullpen. What have you like most about your team’s at bat quality? Yeah, I mean, that’s, you know, obviously that’s about as good as you’re going to go up against , you know, the guys that they can run out, you know, last night it was their lefty, lefty specialist against our lefties and, and we ran up a ton of great at bats big time and #### there by, by Gris, obviously. Um, so, you know, one big swing to get us back in against Adam, um, who’s really tough on lefties too and, and was in that spot probably where they wanted him. And that’s just a huge swing by , by Gris. Um, and Then enough gritty at bats there against Estrada, good job by Cy getting him over and Then, and Then, uh, JC doing his job play. Can you just talk about what a great game? This was, um, it was a great game, Bob. Um, it really was, you know, and , you know, we’ve, it’s definitely good to win a series , you know, we’ve lost a couple series here coming into this where we’ve been in a lot of these kind of games, you know, where we feel like we’ve been on the wrong side, a few of these, of these games so nice to punch through with that. Um, because I feel like I feel like we’re, we’re gonna be really good. We just, you know, we got to find a way to win some of these games and, and secure some series with these kind of games. Um So just a really, really well played game by, by two quality teams. Brian to the left, you’ve talked about, you thought you did Grisham a disservice by not playing him a lot last year. What made you think he was capable of more, um, you know, getting, getting to see him get some run last year in August was , was really the one time he got some fairly regular playing time when, when john Carlo was down and he was productive Then, um I thought he did a really good job for us. Um But really this spring, um I don’t know, I’m not, I don’t know if he’s better or not, you know, I just felt like what I was seeing was just a really live player. Um I just felt like he even saw a little more on defense just how he was moving at bat after, at bat after at bat was quality and that’s, that’s all we’ve seen this start the season. You know, he goes over the other day, but it’s like every at bats heavy and controlling the zone and getting a lot of good swings off and, uh, just excited the way he’s playing right now prior to all the offense. Just what did you think of, Max? And what made c so effective? Yeah, Max was, I thought this was one of Max’s best frankly. Um I thought his command was, was really good tonight. Um I think he, he didn’t walk anyone, did he, uh, what he punch out eight or nine? Um I just thought he was, I thought stuff wise he was really good, but command, I thought this might have been his best command game in, in my opinion, uh, all year. And obviously that’s saying something with as well as he pitched. So just seven excellent innings. Um, you know, Merrill Merrill got two really good swings off on him where he hit, hit the first ball that belly runs down in the deepest part of the park and Then, and Then he really got him the next time and you kind of tip your cap. Um, and Then cease, I thought was pretty electric too. Um I thought his slider was excellent tonight and, and didn’t make mistakes with it. And Then when you, when you’re pairing that with, you know, 97 98 99 um, you know, that’s that kind of, you see those outings throughout the year that he says where, you know, he’s dominating and I think he’s thrown some no hitters. Like that’s what it looks like right there. That was pretty electric stuff against us without making a lot of mistakes and in the strike zone, a lot, Devin Williams roaring off the mound like he did just what can a day like today do for his conference? Well, I mean, that’s as tough a spot as you’re going to be in, right, you know, ghost runner top of the order, you know, you know, what’s going on here in the first month? Plus. So, you know, that’s takes a lot of guts to stand out there and just make pitch after pitch and continue to execute. So, um that’s what he is and who , what he’s capable of. And um yeah, hopefully that’s, that’s another one in a, in a handful that have been really good of late. Um So keep building Roger, you’ve mentioned what’s gone on the last month with Williams? Um Do you sort of feel like he was trending upward? Can you tell us a little bit about the decision to put him in such a high leverage spot? I mean, we, we needed him, I mean, period. Um And, and I do feel like he has been throwing the ball really well. The last couple of weeks, he had the outing the other day where he struggled a little bit obviously, but, you know, the few before that I felt were really good. Um, and, and, and even some of the ones where he has struggled , it’s been a little wonky. It’s been a little, little hope hasn’t bounced his way. So, um, you know, this guy’s been one of the great games, great relievers now for a while and, and you get a peek at it right there, you know, punching out three really good hitters with everything on the line there. Aaron, you mentioned the way c fastball. Look tonight. What do you think of Bellinger catching up to one of those on in an 012 count? Yeah, I mean, left the strike zone, wanted them to control the strike zone a little more, but he got on one up around the letters there. I mean, that’s just a really short swing. One of those where, you know, belly’s just can be so good back the ball, that hand eye coordination that he has, you know, he just met up with it. Perfect was short to it and, and really clipped it last one, greg to the right. I know lighter was warming at one point. But is he dealing with anything that you were? Stay away from it all? No. And Then in the top of the eighth, when the, when the Padres were taking the lead in the, in the crowd, were you kind of wondering what was going on? No, I figured the Knicks were doing well. Thanks, sir.

  1. Let's give Boone credit, he made all the right moves tonight. Hope he can continue

  2. Boone "Another heat attack series win. This team in first place despite what the haters have to say." 😎

  3. I said it 2 weeks ago & say it again….Grisham might be leading the MLB in HRs if he played every day. Don't even get me started on his great defense! He needs to play more!!!!!

  4. Not sure what the double box of 2 Boones was haha. Video mustn’t have been working. Poor director must have been freaking tf out

  5. I was looking to DFA Grisham pretty much all of last season. Boy oh boy was I wrong. The guy is having an All-Star season.

  6. Boone pushed the right buttons. Very risky going to Devin Williams there, but he still believes in him and he came through thankfully

  7. Huge dub for the boys, Belly breaking through to end the no hitter, Grish with the big bomb, Escara with the game winner, and series winner, what a game.

  8. Yankee's turned it on last two games for real against a top team. Really happy for Escarra and he earned his spot on the team worked hard in ST and it paid off! Love seeing the team play using Baseball strategy for a change. More of that please Boone!!!!

  9. Not for nothing but if Williams hadn’t messed up so much we’d probably have best record in baseball…but that’s baseball Suzan
