  1. Simple answer to longer drives, exercise, stretch daily, have lessons and the difference will be pronounced

  2. Matt, on your tacit recommendation, I just bought a new Mizuno driver. I’m expecting, based on your recommendation, 25 yards of additional distance. I’ll let you know how it goes when I get a chance to hit it later this week. 😂

  3. Club golfers are fixated with distance out of the t-box. Accuracy is paramount.
68 YO with somewhere between a +8-10 handicap —— if I can be bothered to turn in the card.
    230-250 yd drives. 160 yd 7 iron.
But haven't lost a ball in over 2 years.

  4. I hit the golf ball with driver 290 yards carry running up to 310 total distance.

Playing for 25 years is one thing that gives me that advantage in power……

  5. Went down to the LS model and has added about 15 yards. Carrying it out to 290 performance average. 40 year old was at 16.6 before the LS. Now at 10.4.

  6. Well, I tend to not listen or watch instructional videos. That being said, what Matt was saying about releasing the club through the ball at the bottom resonated with me. I spent a week at the range and took the new swing thought onto the course today. The score wasn't great but not because of the swing, I hit the ball great, the score went wonky because I hit the ball slightly one club longer on all my irons. It was astonishingly effective. Thank you for throwing this swing thought out Matt it worked a wonder for me.

  7. Matt Fryer Golf You gave a great presentation here on the golf swing. Definitely a thumbs up and a subscribe. I've been a teaching pro for almost 40 years and I teach the same thing. I love the way you shift your weight to your right side on the backswing. I do the same. The only thing I would've added to your video is about spin angle. It needs to be mentioned that "spine angle is tilted slightly to our right side with the driver." This will promote a more sweeping upward attack into the ball at impact sending the ball flight higher from the get go. That's why we need to tee the ball UP higher.

  8. I hit my 3 wood further than driver and generally twice as accurate. Over reliance on stats here, its something you need to know yourself by your own stats rather than everyone elses

  9. This season, I am no longer worrying about the distance off my driver. As long as it is going farther than my 3 wood. I just need to hit more fairways.

  10. I rarely see a player around my age, drive it 275 or more. I am 64.I usually hit 230,but 90% in the fairway.Likewise, I find it unlikely that YouTube golf ‘instructors’,hit it over 300 yards all the time as their trackman device shows,if at all.The average pga drive in 2023 was 282.The USGA stats say the average male amateur drive is 225. I find these numbers to be more accurate.

  11. I'm a 20 Handicap and my stock little draw goes about 250 meters and a bomb might go 270 max. I used to hit a closed off face fade and try and control it but now changed the swing path to a draw style off the tee.

  12. Carry distance is the distance I'm more interested in with driver, sometimes it sticks and in summer it bounces, but the carry I need to know when deciding about fairway bunkers. for context, I'm 56, 4.6hcp and still hit the ball on average about 240-280 yds depending on the bounce. And, like last week at Old Thorns, I can still get a 350 yd one if the wind and bounce is good 😁

  13. I have seen similar statistics that make me feel like a non-person. No numbers for 70 years old or in my case above that. I'm not sure Ive ever seen numbers for driver or iron that touches a fairly large segment out there.
