Two Dorset golf clubs have been recognised for their “impressive” service and facilities.

Bulbury Woods in Lytchett Minster and Verwood’s Crane Valley have each received Bronze Flag status at the 59 Club Awards.

The 59 Club recognises the best clubs and resorts in the UK using secret shoppers.

James Slade, Hoburne’s head of golf, said: “For our three courses to receive bronze accreditation is positively stunning and is a fabulous pat on the back for the team.”

The 59 Club currently marks courses on a combination of 60 per cent service and 40 per cent facilities.

Next year, the focus will be more on service standards, which James believes could bring silver status within reach.

The courses were also nominated in categories including golf operations, team of the year and food and beverage team of the year.

Mr Slade said: “It says a lot about how confident we are in our offering that we even went in for these assessments.”

Crane Valley is a 27-hole club with a Trackman range and PGA professionals, while Bulbury Woods boasts a modern clubhouse.

Each club has implemented changes to improve guest experience.
