It's funny how Golf can break people 🤣
Good video and nothing wrong with 80+
Is the putter $*** or is it the person using the putter? Pushing a lot of those short putts to the right.
Matt, love the content. Just wondering, why you appear to drop your club post swing somewhat frequently. Is this due to less forgiveness in clubs, or advanced swing? This doesn't happen to me or my mates, but we tend to use quite forgiving/low skill clubs.
Matt, did you buy every item of. Clothing at St Andrews??? 😂😂
Real Golf. Luv it. Normally so positive Matt??
You can’t change a ball mid hole can you? Love you Matt -follow loads of channels but love you 1st (then Finchy, Carter and Guy Charnock)
Get some cbx cavity wedges -I don’t understand why more people don’t
Great video! Really enjoying this series and you did make me chuckle 😂
I feel starting a round playing 3/4 swing or 80% effort swing to get yourself into the game helps get you into it and then as you get around you get the swing rhythm flowing you can up the effort. Found this helps me limit my fade/slice
No
I’ve played Woodhall Spa and managed to stay out of the sand which was a feat in itself
“That’s 144 more bunkers than… “ 😂
Matt, Pete Finch will be auctioning off a Mizuno putter that he used on A Fairway Down charity cycle. He seemed to like it and holed some putts, might be worth a bid 😉
I am sure people watch these sort of video's for different reasons. Perhaps like me, its a showcase of how to play golf when I am way off this standard, a hypothetical. This video is a psychological cross section of how even scratch golfers descend into madness. Do not change matt, this is a great video mate.
"He who talks a lot often fails". Lao Tzu.
Love watching your swing. I bet you'd be great fun to play a round with.
The Hotchkin imo is the best inland course in the UK. Walton Heath, Sunningdale, and Hollingwell run it close, but I still believe this is number one. I love how it starts you off nice and gentle…lulling you in…Then it ramps up in difficulty.
The knee clicks when you start hearing them 😂
Great video Matt. Played there in June and for me the main difficulty was the greens. Countless times I just did not read the subtle changes in line just by the hole
That looked a great course!
Who would have guessed that the England golf HQ course has the highest slope rating in England. 🤷♂️
Tough round Matt, but awesome on how you soldiered through.
Played the course last year and it for me, is one you can remember every hole.. Really enjoyed the challenge.
'Having putt like I have no eyeballs, or hands' 🤣
Gday Matt why do you always try fad and not straight shot
Lol, I can’t believe you held it together as well as you did.
That was one of those rounds that could give a guy a heart attack. Hang in there my friend
Golf after all is a dirty four letter word.
By the way love your channel.
I teach Golf in Sacramento, California.
You’re a good guy and a good sport sometimes this game can really push our buttons.😂
Have you tried the L.A.B. putters?
I'm afraid another example of a player, who thinks they're better than they are, having a bad day and being humbled by this very difficult game. Rick Shiels is another but at least he's honest and questions his own performance before the tools he chose to put in his bag. I bet on another day, with the same clubs, Matt could break par on that course, and then they'd be the best clubs he'd ever used.
Great video but do you ever stop moaning??? Its golf, enjoy it!
Matt’s restrained fury is very funny. A feeling shared with most golfers. He should actually create the “naughty cupboard” and now and again reveal the contents to the viewers. Great entertainment.
There was definitely a divot from your second shot on the 3rd… surely you should be setting a better example
you tried st melion at salt ash cornwall ?
One of the most entertaining things I’ve seen on YouTube. Matt’s reactions 😂. Just can’t imagine the average chopper around there. They’d struggle to break 100.
Was a member of Woodhall mid 70's that's pre England golf and Bracken days. Can't believe how open it all looks, they seem to have removed a lot of gorse and silver birch trees. Filming just doesn't show how deep some of those bunkers really are. Managed to win the Stanhope Vase with a round that got me chopped to single figures and get my name on the wall at the home of England Golf before being posted away. Bragging rights, happy days. Nice video Matt, thanks.
Played the Hotchkin three times – and on each occasion I found it more intimidating. The last time, not only was this magnificent course taking me to pieces, all hell and high water let loose as we teed off the 10th when I mighty monsoon and a howling headwind delivered me a message right through to the 18th (with it's zillions of bunkers) "give up playing here, stick to normal tracks!". Drenched and disheartened we went for a post-round fry-up. That was nearly two years back. Great place but not for lesser beings such as I. 🙂
