There is one thing almost everyone in disc golf wants…distance. Whether you’ve tried to gain it with disc change or by trying to do the elusive master form change…we all want more. Even if you throw 450 you want that 500-foot barrier crossed. So knowing we’ll never be satisfied how do we continue to push distance plateaus without destroying our confidence or scoring ability going through those changes? In today’s video I want to showcase two simple tips that you may not have considered that will help you immediately find more distance in your game. What are they?? You’ll have to watch to find out!!
Have you heard of the Birdie Fam? It’s a community of disc golfers who are striving to excel and improve together. Amazing content per usual, may you never stop bringing us to your table mate! "Its me, hi, I'm the problem" got me in tears
Really great flow and build up of information to explain and teach! Thank you Robbie!
Fifth
Thanks for the tips, Regards from Norway 🙂
I work on making my form better then I step up to a teepad where I have to throw far and it's a 5' long teepad with a 3" step up onto it and it's a slippery rubber mat from tractor supply. There goes all my training. I found slowing down and shortening my x-step but speeding up my rotation and pull through has given me bigger, more accurate distance. Yeah, if I did a James Conrad run-up I could go 50' further, but I NEVER have that teepad distance to work with and even if I did, most of the throws are going to be wildly left or right.
Keep up the great work Robbie!
Great tips! Also- how often a week *do you get mistaken for Joe Lo Truglio of Reno 911 fame? 😊
Training wheels for life!
Great info & great advice! Also, cool hat!
I always throw backhands on hyzer and forehand on anhyzer. What numbers should I look for to be more straight?
My forehands will usually sweep right to left without the disc turning back up stays on that angle most of the time.
Now my backhand I always feel weak at, cause I just get hard fades to the left.
Haven't played long and really can't just buy a ton of disc to find my best fit.
Totally agree with you Robbie! :)😊
Awesome video. All the more reason to do some field work with your drivers in order to play around with release angles. This is the only way to know what the discs in the bag are capable of. Great stuff. Thanks, Robbie!
Actually a pretty good video. Lot of people don't understand this. Release angle is incredibly important (either nose angle or heiser angle).
Bro gets paid per word
I like the details. Easy to follow. 🥏💨
Keep setting the table. Without context, nothing makes sense.
Hey Robbie C.. Just wanted to let you know that you are my go-to internet coach here on YT. I've learned so much from your vids and they have truly helped my game!! Love the intros.. Please do keep up the good work!
You forgot to put the link up for the Ozone, lol, just saying. You said you forget like 90% of the time in another video i watched, yesterday.
I've only started really playing on a consistent basis this year, which led me to checking out instructional videos. Find you and have subscribed, but I'm way behind.
This was great and now I'm going to take video next time I go out so that I can see my release and then try adjusting to the discs.
I throw mostly forehand; I have 30 years of baseball under my belt so it felt more comfortable for me to start. I threw mostly side arm and could get it anywhere from 280ft to 380ft depending on my form. I started throwing a daedelus (-3/+2) a tad bit submarine and actually hit 430ft but the throw needed to be perfect. I decided to try an overstable disc throwing at about 3/4 arm slot and saw that the disc would try to turn left and then the overstable nature would fight back and let it sit flat before fading right. I was able to throwing more consistently, comfortably and just as far doing it that way (I reached 454ft and 465ft last weekend). For me it was about comfort and gaining speed that way.
just started last month. your content is very informative. next time you come to huntsville, let me tag along. ill teach you how to throw knives
This is why I love field work. It fun to see what you can get a disk to do. I can throw an extreme hyzer flip with a rollo that is just fun to watch. Not exactly the best disc for a hyzer flip but the most fun. Then I can turn around and throw a flex shot, probably the prettiest line in disc golf. It’s just fun to see what you can get a disc to do.
I guess I have to take this videos advice to heart since my first day disc golfing was October 17th, 2024 and my name is Taylor.
Very insightful.
