Bruno Fernandes will be available for Manchester United’s next three matches after having his red card against Tottenham overturned.

United have been successful with their claim of wrongful dismissal.

Fernandes was shown a straight red card during the first half of United’s 3-0 defeat at home to Tottenham on Sunday and was set to miss the club’s next three league games.

  1. It would have been interesting to see how Utd faired without him. Might be worth benching both him and Rashford and see how it goes. Can’t be any worse tbf.

  2. I'm sure the ref and VAR team will face no repercussions, will be back out for the next match and any players or managers complaining about it will be sanctioned. And the match result will still stand as well. It's almost as if Keir Starmer runs the refereeing side of English football.

  3. And the VAR team couldn't decide that when it happened? Overturn the card AFTER the match is irrelevant when they had to play the entire second half with 10 men.

  4. Speaking as a Spurs fan, if you didn't watch the replay footage, it was definitely a red card. But if you watched the replay, it was clear that Bruno slipped and had no intention for the dangerous play. That to me only warrants a yellow card. I was surprised when the red was given. This is why people keep criticizing the officiating in England.

  5. Ov course it has no such luck for shar though when they put heads together real man stans up the other fall down shar get red card for standing up

  6. That's not fair at all when the decision had be made then just accepted…if this decision can overturned then all game before this who's player straight red card can overturned too am I right? But yeah that's Manchester United 😵😵😵

  7. I'm a Liverpool fan and I agree with this decision. The second yellow was in reality barely "a talking to" by the ref. Unfortunately the match was adversely affected.

  8. Better not playing Fernandes in future because he is always the mark man in football. He is already marked by all referees 😂😂

  9. Umpire basically decide the game. This is why soccer/football is stupid. The red card or penalty just changes loser/winner in the game. What an idiotic game.
