In January 1999, the Philadelphia Eagles made a decision that would shape their franchise for over a decade. They hired Andy Reid, a relatively unknown quarterbacks coach from the Packers, as their new head coach. This move raised eyebrows and sparked controversy throughout the football world. At just 40 years old, Andy Reid was the second-youngest coach in the NFL at the time. His résumé was thin compared to other candidates, with no experience as a head coach or even as an offensive coordinator. Early in his career he was known for losing. Now That Andy Reid is with the Kansas City Chiefs him and Patrick Mahomes stay winning.

  1. Andy Reid was (is) great. It was just time.. for the franchise, and more importantly for him. He'll always be beloved, you've gotta prove yourself in philly, and if you go out and perform, you'll be beloved. He's become a different coach in kc. He became stuck in his ways, botching time management, not running the ball when you've got guys like lesean McCoy, and Brian westbrook. For years he brought in trash receivers for mcnabb, forcing him out of the pocket and putting him in danger of getting injured rather than using his legs in designed plays. Again, I loved Andy Reid, he'll always be a part of philly, but everything worked out for the better for everyone once he left.

  2. Despite what Andy says, there is no excuse for the hate filled vitriol of these Eagles fans. Their loss is our gain. Go, Chiefs! ❤🏈

  3. It’s funny cause I remember the Eagles lost like 10 straight 1 score games and now the Chiefs are o the other side with 17 straight wins in 1 score games, Ried was always a great coach

  4. Im 29 grew up in Chester co been an eagles fan my whole life through the 04 run and idolizing Dawkins and Westbrook and I had posters of Andy on my wall from SI kids. When he left my young self couldn’t understand it then I heard about his son on 94.1

  5. Its a shame how we treated this man all those years with winning seasons. It's a shame he had one bad year because he son died and we couldn't be understanding…I was one person that didn't want to see Andy go..but here we are today going up against him in superbowls. I'm happy for his success but when you come up against the birds we got business to take care of….GO BIRDS🦅🦅🦅

  6. The Eagles threw Reid away like yesterday's trash! The Eagles players loved him though! Since then Eagles had regrets but the truth is they rode him out of town with a laugh and a don't let the door hit you on the way out!

  7. a lot of people fail to realize what Andy had going on in his PERSONAL life during those years. he was great before all that, and obviously great again after. but he was fried for about two seasons, literally brainfried. in any other industry, someone going thru all that would take a LOA, but that doesnt happen in pro sports apparently. he should have resigned, looking back..

  8. Howie was andys biggest issue those dream team.picks where all howie not reid. Since splitting from.howie has he had .more success the answer is yes.

  9. Isn't ironic that Andy Ried is playing against the team in the Superbowl this year that treated him like trash and threw him away like a garage?
