On today’s episode, Tyler “DragonflyJonez” of the Jenkins & Jonez Podcast joins Bomani Jones to discuss the NFL Conference Championship weekend and the state of the music industry. Since Tyler is a fan of the Washington Commanders, they start off by joking about Dan Quinn’s backwards hats, Jayden Daniels different hairstyles, and how they will fare against the Eagles. They move onto Bo’s Lions and if losing Ben Johnson and Aaron Glenn will close their Super Bowl window? Next, they have a conversation centered around quarterbacks — how many teams are actually confident in their signal caller and with 3 of the 4 remaining QBs being black they examine how they all have very unique play styles. The second half of the show is all about music as Bo and Tyler discuss how to find new music outside of TikTok, which rappers have the best discography of all-time, and which rappers can be given G.O.A.T. status?

  1. People seem to forget Jalen Hurts has the best deep ball touch in the league. Might not make the read every time but when he does, that ball is basically dropped onto the tip of a traffic cone.

  2. I didn't see that Lion's loss coming. That's why I don't gamble in the playoffs in sports after Tom Brady came back from 30 points down.

  3. I've honestly found tons of music thru Spotify and the Playlists i put together recommending me artists as well

  4. Hurts is the QB that truly shows that for the most part they don't care anymore about color. But we are talking about the Eagles they have a good history in regards to the subject.

  5. Bro I have to respectfully disagree with Dragonfly about that Mase Double up album. Off the top I remember my ex could not stop playing "All I ever wanted" and i love Start from Scratch" possee cut. That album got hated on because by the time it was release Mase was done with rap and was barely promoted still sold gold gold with no promotion from the artist himself. And he had that song make me cry, dry snitching on Brandy, lol if you know you know. Great Pod

  6. I don’t get the comments on Jayden Daniels hair what’s so weird about his hair. It’s just twist.

  7. 1. As arrogant as Walking With A Panther is, A Wolf In Sheep's Clothing may give it a run. Dres was disrespectfully arrogant, and i love that album
    2. As bad as that Panther album was, going from Momma Said Knock You Out to 14 Shots To The Dome was, is, and always will be unforgivable.

  8. Apple Music! You can find plenty of different playlists in each genre. They also have their own radio stations and a discovery station specifically curated to your taste. I’ve found a lot of great music that way. The Smoke by The Smile one of my favorite songs right now.

  9. So many knocks here who tell you how small this tall man is.
Spending ten minutes on somebody’s hair and another grown man wearing his hat backwards.
The hate on Washington considering he has NO team he is loyal to.
LL is not in his wheelhouse at all for his age.
Yes Walking With a Panther is a dud, but Big Ol Butt wasn’t the miss. It was ONE SHOT AT LOVE which WAS the answer to I Need Love. We DIDN’T want more of that. Goin Back to Cali also was a head scratcher in real time.
A revisionist and a small, tall hater with no team.

  10. 44:00 …with vinyl, artists had to find their BEST 40+ mins of music that they had composed over the previous year to two years – with CDs you had 75 mins of music to put out on the same schedule. That meant that alot B-sides made it onto that CD that cost twice as much as the vinyl by the time vinyl made it's exit as THE medium for music.

So people starting getting p***ed off about that – at the same time we hit peak b***tchy-ness over paying 15 bucks for one or two songs we really liked, along came the ability to record bootleg copies of CDs, and then all of a sudden the streaming platforms showed up giving folks the ability to just buy that one song, and ignore the rest of the structure.

Now we've reached a point where, if you actually want to purchase a digital copy of entire album, you have to usually go to that artist's website, or love an artist that puts out vinyl, or maybe Amazon has a hard copy – but you have to know what you're looking for.

Which brings us back to Bomani's original question of: "where do I hear about new music? Hear it? So I can say, 'oh, yes – I need that!' "

  11. huh? i'm not jacking the take on music, that kid sounds like a dunce or the OP was lying for clout.. just search new music _ (insert genre, region, nation)

  12. I had immobilarity and i remember trying really hard to find something and not liking nothing on that album. Also worth considering that album when smif n wesson changed their name to the cocoa brotherz

  13. Hit my jazz phase a few years ago. My pops listened to it a lot as well. Growing up, it wasn't my thing. Haven't got into Mile Davis yet, but im into the newer sound of it. Yussef dayes, Kamasi Washington, Tom misch, Alfa mist, Rocco Palladino, Khruangbin, Grover Washington, Tearrace Martin, Robert Glasser, etc. At this point I'm about 30% jazz, 30% rock, 25% R&B/Soul, and 15% Hip hop.

  14. A Tribe Called Quest is = to OutKast. They’re basically the same group, but from different regions. The contrast between Q-Tip & Phife is congruent to that of Andre 3000 & Big Boi…and their discography is every bit as important & impressive.

  15. I love how Bo always says he prefers looking at a players peak rather than longevity, yet at Brons peak who was Bo saying was the best ever? 🤔

  16. His music opinions are very crack headish. Going back to Cali is one of the best rap songs ever. Jingling baby is one of the best dance rap songs ever! This album has three of the better rap songs you will ever hear on the album. Some of the songs on the album sucked, but he has three classics on walking with the panther. Big ole butt was and still is an Iconic rap song! A hall of fame rap song😂 I just listened to it a few weeks ago. The damn song is hilariously disrespectful.
