Bernhard Langer has been a top performer on the Champions Tour for years. Even at the age of 67 Bernhard can get the ball out there 275 yards on average off the tee. Not too bad at all.

NOTE: Clips of Bernhard Langer speaking are from an interview with “The French Golf Coach” YouTube Channel. The full interview can be found here:

For those of us who are seniors these tips from Bernhard Langer’s swing can benefit us off the tee. As Bernhard explains in this video the way you increase your club head speed on your driver is to have a wider swing arc. You need to have a full shoulder turn and that is exactly what Langer’s setup and swing modifications maximize.

Try these tips out today if you are noticing that you are losing driver distance as you get older. These really help.

  1. LEFT HEEL UP ,EARLY HIP ROTATION ,REVERSE C FROM PAST FINISH , STRAIGHT LEFT ARM AND NOT A FAST TRANSITION MAKE HIM CONSISTENT , A SOFTER SHAFT IN DOWNSWING HES MAXED OUT FOR HIS SIZE AND AGE ,GOOD FOR LONGEVITY FOR SENIORS

  2. If you want to win like Langer, get a long putter and anchor it to your sternum, you'll make all the putts you read right…

  3. Definitely more, there's lot's of us seniors out there. I've a strong grip, also i just got fitted for new clubs, senior flex 55 gram shafts, throughout, I'm almost 70, still single digits, did away with 3-4-5-6 regular irons, put 5-6 hybrids in and added 5 & 7 woods, if it's good enough for Freddie Couples it's good enough for me, i saw a video on here with Freddie explaining why he changed, lost distance and height on longer irons.

  4. 275 yards with 98 mph clubspeed is very long, looks like you had a very good fitting or your simulator is quite generous on total distance. Do you get to 275 yards in the real world on a normal fairway?
