As an Average golfer I wanted to see if I could hit longer drives by using a new tee bought from Amazon called Swiftee. These golf tees claim to hit the ball 15 yards longer and reduce slice/fade and launch the ball higher.

Are these golf tees a con or do they actually help me drive the ball longer, will these golf tees help mid to high handicap golfers play better golf?

  1. My Swiftee has lasted for about 6 rounds now, I think the tilted entry makes the ball seem like it's floating which helps me hit up on it. But am I wrong or are you not meant to instert the tee itself at an angle, rather than straight up?

  2. I like the Martini tee. I like it as the ball height is the same every time. Durability is excellent as well. Same idea as the castle tee.

  3. Should have compared the swift to an orange castle. Or cut the swift down to the same height as the pink one

  4. a bit of a pointless test, the swiftee is not supposed to be used that high, they would work very well at the same height as the pink tee, they work very well outside in soft grass but not hard grass (cant get them into the ground)

  5. I actually won a pack of 8 flightpath tees. Which they claim won’t break. They cost something silly like £24.99. They did 😂 to be fair they replaced them. I think they do launch higher off them.
Very hard work balancing the ball on them though so gave up using them in the end

  6. As we know, higher tee height is intended to allow more upswing to provide more carry, resulting in more distance. The Swiftee produced to much height in your case, but I believe your driver was at 10.5 degrees. Would decreasing the driver loft some then allow for a little lower trajectory. but by hitting up on the ball using the Swiftee (more so than with the pink tee) ultimately produce a bit more ball speed and therefore additional distance in comparison?

  7. Thanks Andy, good review followed by lots of advice.
For me, I use a softer standard pink tee that has lasted me about 2 seasons. I only replaced the previous one was because I forgot it on the teebox, to someone else benefit…lol. Bamboo's nice, but 1 plastic tee can last a long time.

  8. I found your hypothesis most interesting and as the comments below suggest, lack scientific gravitas for a number of reasons plus the unfortunate wiping of the evidence re hitting balls off the pink tees! Researchers would want to repeat the exercise to ensure equipoise in both arms of the experiment so that comparative data can be fairly evaluated. The concept that you can align a tee to influence direction of a golf shot seems to challenge the principles of the Rules of Golf as a type of artificial aid. Do the tees have R&A approval for competition play? Further research upon tee alignment and its influence upon the direction of the golf shot seems to need confirmation. The data you collected appeared to suggest that the scatter for the 10 pink castle tees shots was tighter that the Swiftee which is counter to that claimed. I'm presuming that this new tee peg is not in copyright dispute with a well known US female singer.

  9. Andy, you're meant to tee it up 10 degrees backwards. I watched an Alex Elliot video the other day with exactly the same comparison (pink tees vs swift tees).

I'm sure you'll have another go at this when you get outside, as i trust your opinions for us mere mortal golfers.

  10. When spring starts it would be a better test for you to retry this tee where you can place the tee lower. And see if there is a difference. Thanks for sharing 👍

  11. Last year I got sucked in by the technical garb and bought the exact same box as you .
I used them in accordance with the instructions for 9 holes and my dispersion was absolutely dreadful!
I gave up after 9 holes and went back to using a pink castle tee. My drives returned back to normal and the remaining drives all went straight down the fairway.
Ive never used them since and never will. The tees are under my stairs if anyone wants them.

  12. I bought some tees just like these and I’m hitting the ball further and straighter when I do decide to hit driver. I would never hit driver before I started using this tee. Definitely seen 10 yards off the tee.

  13. Not sure why you didn't at least cut one or two of the tees down so they could be at the correct height. Any comparison that is done without doing that is kind of pointless. This was more of a comparison of a tee heights than it was 2 different tee styles. It's a good 2/3 of a ball higher. And as others have pointed out, it's also meant to be placed in the ground at an angle.
