  1. Am I right in thinking that nobody understands what actually causes a kick though? I can't see how using a different chalk would make any difference whatsoever

  2. Ronnies opponents shouldn’t worry about his use of chalk, they’re never at the table anyway!

  3. Apart from from being a professional booker player, you've found your niche Stephen. This really is you at your YouTube best. Like someone once said about someone else, 'there's no lying in you'. And it's very funny

  4. Hendry is too nice you can tell he is holding off the true rating. 3/5 for snooker poems? Like who would want that

  5. Maybe they want to leave as many marks on the table as they can when they come to a snooker, so they can use those marks to adjust their shots?

  6. As a keen amateur since the late ‘70s, maybe Steve Hendry has never seen, or has forgotten where this accessory is very useful.

I refer to the plastic rest fork slide on extension (that Steve Davis used), and I’ve used since I got one soon after seeing it, main use isn’t as an alternative spider.

It’s use is for better cueing when the cue ball and object ball are tight or very close to a cushion and it’s on your wrong cueing arm. The lower fork below the extended fork can fit under the cushion rail and the fork of the extension allows you to cue along the line of the shot. Not often used, but now and again very handy.

I keep mine over my cue tip to protect it in its case, which is another use.

5 out of 5 in my opinion 🙂

  7. I have a leather magnetic chalk holder from Temu of all places and it is fantastic. It even came with both round chalk holder and square chalk holder and all of it is made of tooled genuine leather. Also, the magnets are very strong and hold the chalk extremely well. I think I paid around $15-$20 for the three piece set.

  8. 7:25 I have used a Riley magnetic chalk holder and clip for over 30 years from playing in a league to playing with my mates. I keep it in my cue case and use it every time I play. It clips nicely on to the back pocket of my jeans. I have never used Taom chalk, always triangle for me. Love the portable rest as table 2 at my club has a rest with uneven ends that won't screw in further and it's annoying when you get that rest out and have to twiz it round to the end that's even, this breaking your concentration on the shot. Might have to get one of those cheers for the helpful video Stephen.

  9. I’m glad I made the switch to taom , I ruined so many shirts using master chalk for hours at a time

  10. That rest looked awesome! I work at a brewery with a table and our rest has been broken so many times by random drunk patrons that we just stopped replacing it. I might pick that up for my own personal use. Hahaha

I think with Mark's cue sight gadget is meant to line up behind the cue ball with any/every shot you take so it can help you cue the ball straighter every time. Not just as a warm up/practice item. I might be wrong though… That's just what I thought when I saw it.

Just so you know, Betterhelp, your video sponsor, sells customer's personal data and health records to marketing companies. The FTC (Federal Trade Commission) in the USA found Betterhelp was taking customer's personal health records and data and selling it to marketing and advertising firms like Facebook, Snapchat, Criteo, and Pinterest… You can find more info on that by Googling it (if you don't like clicking random links) but here's a link directly to the FTC's business blog discussing their ruling on the matter: https://www.ftc.gov/business-guidance/blog/2023/03/ftc-says-online-counseling-service-betterhelp-pushed-people-handing-over-health-information-broke
I appreciate the need for content creators to find sponsors for income and to keep channels running, but I just felt I needed to mention that as someone who particularly cares about mental health. Mental health is probably the most important form of healthcare and arguably the most personal. Selling people's mental health information, particularly information that was shared under the explicit agreement that it would be confidential, to companies like Facebook so Facebook can exploit a vulnerable person with targeted ads to make a profit off them is wrong.

All around, great video though! As always! 🙂

  11. Like Judd trump said on triangle chalk “I’ve won all these tournaments with this chalk” it couldn’t of been all that bad!

  12. Yeah, but Ronnie and Judd win everything so maybe there’s something in sticking with the Triangle Chalk. In fact, both Ronnie and Judd became even more prolific after the Taom Chalk came along.

  13. I wore a glove to pool and still do on occasion, I have really rough skin especially in the thin areas between my fingers, often continuously playing pool made my skin raw and the glove helped minimize it.
Yes people poked fun at me but it worked and so it was sacrifice I was willing to make

  14. The other thing about taom chalk is how long it lasts. I play pool and I’ve been using the same block for about 6 months . It hardly looks like I’ve used it

  15. Why you give 3 Stars for the ball (redwhite one) , if you not need it? Stephen, you are tooo nice to it …lol😅!!

  16. Your a funny guy Stephen 😂. Top man. Still the most dominant and dangerous player to play the game. In your prime unstoppable 👍🏻

  17. As a disabled snooker player(back in the day) I lament that I didn't have one of those telescopic cue-rests! 😭

  18. I've got the exact extendable rest. Have to say it is excellent. Most used by my young son on his 5ft snooker table but it will be useful too when he eventually graduates to bigger tables.
    Great video Stephen 😊

  19. I imagine ronnie would say "why would I pay £17 for chalk" but when you strike the ball like him, why would you haha

  20. The white ball you tested also has a snooker size. I bought mine from AliExpress and i could pick between 52.5mm and 57.2mm.

  21. 2:00 The "low spider" thing is for the Russian billiards. Russian balls are like 1.5x bigger and it's the standard rest for them
