Lennon Miller: The young talent attracting attention from multiple clubs

The German player’s two-goal display not only turned the game in Celtic’s favour but also sparked a heated reaction in his homeland, particularly from leading outlet Bild.

Kuhn Shines Against Former Club
Nicolas Kuhn, who spent part of his youth career with RB Leipzig, was instrumental in Celtic’s comeback after the German side took an early lead. His first goal showcased his skill as he manoeuvred past defenders and curled a shot into the far corner. Just before halftime, Kuhn added a second, tapping in a low cross to give Celtic the advantage.

While Kuhn’s performance was celebrated by many, Bild referred to him as a “German no-name,” a label that has sparked significant backlash. The outlet appeared to express frustration over Kuhn’s impact against a German team, especially given his history with Leipzig’s youth setup.

Other German publications reacted differently: Tag24 highlighted the irony of Kuhn, a former Leipzig player, being the one to damage their Champions League hopes. Sport1 praised Kuhn’s impressive goals, noting his significant contribution to Celtic’s win.

International media also took note: Marca (Spain) commented on Kuhn’s journey since leaving Leipzig in 2018, suggesting that his performance was a form of “revenge” against his former club.
Celtic’s European Ambitions Strengthened

Celtic’s win moves them to seven points in the group stage, bolstering their chances of reaching at least the playoffs in the revamped Champions League format. Manager Brendan Rodgers hailed the team’s performance as a significant achievement. Celtic supporters and football analysts have been effusive in their praise for Kuhn and the team. And in this episode of the The Journos we highlight the team’s maturity and confidence on the European stage.

The victory not only boosts Celtic’s European campaign but also places a spotlight on Kuhn, who is rapidly becoming a key player for the Scottish champions. His performance has likely caught the attention of Germany’s national team manager, Julian Nagelsmann, who is reported to be an admirer.

  2. Peter was slagging Pat Nevin for praising Celtic commentating on the radio. Come on Peter if Pat cannot rave about such a sensational Champions League performance well when can he?

  3. Peter,,,give the folks a break….Nevin was being positive,,,,,try being happy,,,loose some weight…your a stroke waiting to happen

  4. Game management in Europe has always been a huge problem for Celtic in the last 20 years. I'm not yet ready concede that they've suddenly learned how to but the signs are promising thus far.

  5. New players in January can’t play until the first phase is over. It will be the last 16 if qualify before any new players can play.

  6. Only in scotland are the media obsessed with talkin about selling players who have been here for 2mins hugh always disrespecting scottish football

  7. Don't forget the rosenborg team who were beating real Madrid and the rest of the big teams , was probably 20 odd years ago, always remember them beating Madrid home and away, I think. Celtic have great chance to emulate that kind of success, hopefully. Give brendan a 3 year extension please 🙏

  8. I can hardly believe the football celtic are playing 1 or 2 quality additions next summer and i believe celtic can do something special they are good enough to win the uefa cup cl a bridge too far possibly

  9. RE: the press in the attacking third.

Absolutely spot on. Save those 15 minutes in the middle of which RBL scored, they were a swarm of angry hornets.

It may sound daft, but I actually credit CCV. The lads up front feel a confidence and support with the big man at their back which they don't feel when he's absent.

I've done a bit of research on this topic. Since Cam joined the squad, Celtic are 2.3 goals per match better with him than without him. That is ~ evenly split between goals conceded and goals scored. I credit his not only his defending (obviously), but also his distribution/passing, as well as his ability to deter and blunt counterattacks before they happen. That keeps the ball in the attacking end, thus it creates more chances.

No other player on the squad is so impactful.

  10. Celtic could buy Lennon Miller but the lad would have to go back out on loan for at least 2 season's , maybe another season with motherwell then one season with admira wacker

  11. I don’t think anyone would dispute Celtic are Scotlands biggest football Club with the best Stadium the most money etc. But it is about time they started to do better on the European Stage.

  12. I thought the point made regarding its refreshing praising celtics performance rather than the atmosphere was absolutely spot on. Great point made and that’s what Celtic should strive for going forward
