The Kid has tons of personality. People used to bitch about Calvin Heimburg too when he started to emerge. The "McBeth vs. Wysocki" Stans just keeps bleating the same old shit every time something new happens.
The biggest issue with the sport is that the coverage – the post produced youtube stuff is, by far, the superior product. But this year it was lessened by the lack of gatekeeper and acerun production chasecard coverage – a massive downgrade IMO.
Also… the Eagle needs to soar once more – at this time, it is valid to start questioning whether a surrender to Zen-competition is a maxing factor in terms of performance. I just miss his presence and game on coverage. That's all…

this season was amazing and so good in my opinion, i was so happy i got to see Krokhol and European Open in person and really hope all the players gets deals good enought so they can tour all year round because they are so good and nice people that take their time for fans even when they are at their low.
I don't know why I stopped watching MPO. I found FPO more interesting. But I've been too busy to keep up even with that the past month, unfortunately.

Part of the problem with the coverage this year is that Gatekeeper Media no longer covers the chase cards. We can blame DGN for that.
Instead of having two cards worth of players we could follow, along with different announcer voices to listen to, we get JUST Jomez. And the coverage on Jomez is harder to sit through due to the constant chase card check-ins. DGN needs to pull its head out of its ass, and Gatekeeper needs to come back with chase card coverage.

Innova was the only company to play it smart during the covid boom, everyone was bashing them for not picking up big contracts while the other companys spent big money, Innova will be there to pick up the scraps like they already did with KJ and Vino

The lack of alternative coverage is my only complaint. Monopolizing coverage was incredibly scummy. DGN is the biggest harm to disc golf. Glad i found a free "alternative". Of course i cant give the link but do some googling during an event and youd be surprised what you can find.
i root against isaac robinson for one reason, being extremely boring both on the course and personality. if a slice of white bread was a person, you get isaac robinson. he is boring, but watching gannon dominate and ricky cling to battles, was a joy, and watching AB explode at the beginning, it was sick
Bored people are boring people. If you can't enjoy great play and need drama to make up for the lack of a rich internal life of your own, we probably wouldn't be friends.

For whatever reason I don't understand negative energy always gets more attention then the positive vibes. I thoroughly enjoyed watching Mr. Burr. I love seeing the young Talent taking on the Old Guard.
Live coverage has gotten so much better this year, and I feel like it's not said enough. Sure, DGN is super flaky and is constantly crashing but I've gotten to the point where I don't even watch postproduction videos anymore. Now they just need to get more bodies and cameras out on the course. We should have coverage of at least the top 4-5 cards.
DGPT either "bought" (JomezPro) or forced/pushed out the fun other coverage companies with their fees/licensing garbage leaving us with very little in the way of A-tier or other fun content (no Ace Run Pro "Tree Strike Challenges" for example). Seems the tour is going to control the tour narrative right into the ground where nobody wants to watch and definitely not pay for failed signals and 20 pixel resolution. I certainly wasn't going to pay for sketchy service when I didn't have time to actually use it. I've got family obligations and work travel which are priorities, and watching disc golf is an "occasional" thing to do when I am not trying to actually get out an throw myself. Long story short, the DGPT have nobody to blame for the perceived failures with the tour and tour coverage but themselves. Ball golf courses are pretty boring and manufactured OB is just annoying to watch … and this coming from a SoCal disc golfer! Maybe the tour needs to loosen up on all those fees and let the fun coverage return to make things fun again.
Personally I have been enjoying the rivalry between Ricky and Ganon and find it very competitive and entertaining.
Im like most casual fans, if Mcbeth in it ill watch if not I could care less. Kind of like Tiger and Golf. Gannon is a great player but as a casual fan, not interested
I cancelled my DGN subscription because prices went up and coverage went down. You legit only see the lead card and 1 guy on Chase. Theres no more GKPRO or central coast post produced coverage. So who cares. More overseas tournaments means more that I can’t watch. So I’ll just watch real sports leagues like the NFL, NBA, or MLB. Bye bye DGPT. It was a good run

I love y'all but would you please be the only podcast that recognizes the fact that DGWT WAS a thing. The tour WAS in Europe and USA and they decided to fold to allow Dodge and DGPT grow and expand to grow the sport.
DG is going back to Europe and it's great. Don't believe me, look at all the SpinTV vids from 2014-2017.
People crying about the predicament about Gannon winning and it’s boring, lol get a life. When one player dominates it’s even more fun for other players if they win over him. U talking trash to Tiger Woods too just because he dominates? No, it’s exciting and yeah u kind of know that he will win but it’s also fun to see a GREAT player play and fun for the people/person who beats him. It’s a sport and let a 19 year old guy who dominates be. I’m 90% sure the guys that are complaining have absolutely nothing better to do and hate their own life so much so they have to dump it on a kid. Seriously GROW UP
I wouldn’t say it was a boring season, but a few tournaments I didn’t watch at all simply because I watch post production, and by the time the JoMez stuff was uploaded it was old news. And the loss of Gatekeeper definitely resulted in far less viewing by me. I would even go so far as to say that the best disc golf I watched this season was the very instructive Ricky Wysocki practice rounds.
I definitely see Drew’s point regarding the ROI on touring. Being a well-rounded disc golf pro in reality includes being a YouTube presence and a disc salesman.
There were 14 players who earned $50K or more, while $40K barely gets you into the top 20. I’m not suggesting that watching Gannon Buhr dominate is boring, but knowing that he’s one of only a handful making a middle class living makes Drew’s statement absolutely valid. Add that unlike other professional sports, so little PDGA revenue comes from external sources (eg ad revenue or sponsorships). Did the World Championship get even 30 minutes worth of ESPN time? Did the entire season get even an hour in total ESPN coverage?
I love this sport, but the business model appears to be very fragile indeed.
And about DGN, I’m honestly embarrassed to watch it with my girlfriend and be like: yeah, this is a high quality production.. it’s like watching in 480 and sometimes even worse. I have pro and I can just watch ONE round without commercials? And when it’s not commercials it’s just one camera on hole 18 and no one is playing it.. DGN need to make better 2025! Also, Nate Doss? Please just fire him, he’s so full of himself 😛 “did u see that?! As I said earlier, THIS happens when u do this. Watch closely how he stands bla bla bla..”

Yeah this is total bs, this was the most existing season in since 2018. Gannon is the saving grace of disc golf since Mcbeth fell off. Consistency doesn’t equal boring

I enjoyed the season but find the women's game is more fun to watch. They seem to enjoy themselves far more than the men. The men are so busy being stoic and focused that when one of them ie Ricky starts having fun everybody seems to think its an intimidation tactic. The game really needs to show the fun side a little more. Gannon throwing a great shot and complaining about how bad it was makes the everyday joe that wishes he could throw a fraction that well just a little agravated.
I miss gatekeeper media . I don’t always care about lead card . Also loved their bag previews before the round . The greed of disc golf pro tour has impacted their own growth
I think Drew’s point is more right than wrong . Costs of housing , gas, food all have gone up dramatically and the payouts haven’t matched . Need to pull more outside money into the sport vs players making up most of the payouts

Can’t blame Gannon for dominating. All the other top guys need to be more consistent. Why is it that every tournament, guys like Vinny, Ricky etc. have a round like par or -2. They give the tournament away.
I think people see Gannon as a cry baby . Iv heard it alot from many viewers. Not my opinion.
