I was skeptical when I first saw the LAB putters, but this is one case where the hype is absolutely 100% true. The first day I took out my new DF3, I was draining 10-20 footers, to the amazement of my buddies. I was just hoping to get a slight improvement to my putting but it has been way bigger than that.
You nailed the couple points I found, which is that the 5-6 footers drop so much easier now. And it’s easier to get a good stance and alignment by placing the putter flat on the ground. I found the stock model worked for me as well.
Wish I knew about the 15% coupon code, that’s a killer deal!
This putter is very good. The ball goes where it’s aimed, all you need to do is pick the right line and speed. I dropped a full stroke on my index (3 to 2) and was considered a good putter prior.
What about the Evnroll putters , they are supposed to hit straight no matter where you hit on the face
I've used a DirectedForce (what LAB used to be called) for about five years. About two years in I was considering selling my old, expensive, putter. Just for the heck of it I took it out for nine holes. The thing literally felt "alive" in my hand. All the tiny movements that the LAB putter had taken out of the stroke were put back in. I've never used anything but the lie-angle-balanced putter since. One downside: if you play in really strong winds the putter is large enough to to act a little like a sail. Still, I am a huge fan.
and….you can use it to brand cattle
Being given money to do a review disqualifies the review.
Terrific video! I have the DF3 and absolutely love the putter. If you’re interested in learning more search “Sam Hahn LAB Putters” for several informational YouTube videos. He’s great!
I would also encourage people to get fitted for the putter. You can send a short 5 second video using your cell phone and using your current putter. They’ll provide “LAB” putter specifications to properly fit you.
Would love to see the DF3 compared to the Link 1
Stop extending your right index finger down the shaft with your grip.
I've really been looking into getting this putter after reading the Mygolfspy forum review and all of the other videos I've seen. I'm gaming a $99 Costco putter so I assume I should see an improvement as my Achilles heal are those 3 putts.
Please do a head to head with your current gamer from differing distances. I know the biggest feedback people note is 10ft and in distance, closer in more automatic.
A couple of months ago I was custom fit remotely directly with LAB at 72 degree lie angle, counterbalanced option with heavier head at 36 inches with the 17 in 3.0 SS LAB grip. Got the NN marking alignment. Their is no need to manipulate the head, the face stays square to the target. By far the best putter I've ever used and I've been golfing over 30 years.
Might pick one of these up when the annual bonus hits this year… What I appreciate about them is that they’re explaining the physics/technology in a way that makes sense. Makes me trust them a little more than other brands saying things like “TWIST FACE WILL KEEP THE BALL STRAIGHT” and I just have to take their word for it.
I just bought a df2.1 2 weeks ago, went to the pga store and played with one for an hr or 2 while a buddy was getting fitted, i was sinking puts across the putting green i never would have with my old putter. The hype is real haha its amazing!!!!!!
Bullshit, just about ever utuber has 1, and most of them cannot putt worth shit! example, Busta Jack!
It is nice but can't justify paying $600 for a putter. Will wait till patent runs out and then get one for a more reasonable $200-$300.
How does the grip handle arccos trackers?
I couldn't really get used to it personally as I've been so used to a toe hang putter. But, if it works for you, then great!
I watched my brother in law over two days make almost every putt within 10 feet. I’ve played golf with him over 40 years and have never seen him so consistent.
I always enjoy your content, good stuff. I've been hearing the Skytrack is now Macbook compatible ? Loolks like a nice upgrade by them.
Always been a blade guy. Did a putter fitting just for fun at the beginning of this season. Fitter suggested trying out the DF3. Even though I still think it looks like a toilet seat, I cannot argue with the results. My putting has significantly improved. Lab putters are legit. Put your ego aside and get one if you struggle with the short stick.
nope!
Sean, did you go through the LAB fitting process or simply choose one off the rack, so to speak?
I have owned over 20 putters including the lab link and the DF3 has by far given me the biggest results. I highly recommend it.
Has to be the biggest improvement in putters since the TM spider
There is no putter no matter what shape or costing hundreds of pounds that will guarantee more sunk putts. If there were every Pro. would be using it. It is almost immoral to suggest that one will out perform another.
There is only one way sink more putts and that is to practice. Not the usual 5 minutes we see on every practice green but at lease 20 min. with a routine and a practice aid. It’s what the Pro’s do and the results follow. Not with a fancy shaped overpriced putter, that will end up in the garage with all the others that promised but failed to deliver.
Looks like you need some lessons more than this gimmick
Pumpkin looking pure 😍
This putter is the best period. Solved my putting woes.
The ball pickup doesn't fit in the hole. That means the putter has a design feature for putts you missed.
Had mine for 6 months and love it. I’m not yet a good putter but I am no longer horrible.
I want to like this putter. I’ve seen a lot of people switch to it and it’s become the “in” thing. I’ve been in my local golf store multiple times and I try it pretty much every time I go in there. I like the grip; it feels high quality and comfortable. However, the face feels too soft for me and the head feels hollow when striking the ball. Also, I’ve been using the Phantom X12 for the past year, and it’s got a pretty long alignment aid. Perhaps I’ve gotten too used to it, making the DF3 harder for me to align. I find myself second guessing my alignment much more frequently. All that said, those are all “me” problems. I’m sure many will find the DF3 (or other L.A.B. Putters) very helpful; I’m just not there yet. Maybe someday.
I have been looking at this putter for a while, and this review put me over the point and picked one up today.
I've bought one this week and it's instantly my favourite club in the bag
1- they’re ugly
2- they’re ridiculously expensive
3- the sound horrible
4- I have 2 buddies that use them and they still suck at putting
Putter length is too short for him.
Too much money for the easiest part of golf!
People can swing a iron 70plus mph and hit the ball in the middle of the club and drop it with in 10 yards of target 150 yards away. But a very small and slow swing less than 2ft. And we can't hit the ball in the middle of the clubface. People stop thinking and just putt the ball Geez
A friend of mine has the Mezz. That is the nicest looking and feeling putter I’ve ever tried. If I ever think about getting a new putter that’s probably the way I’ll go.
I stopped watching at $449.00
