  1. Pete , the golfing gods were not with you … but don’t give up , would Indiana Jones give up ? No .. carry on the good work

  2. Peter, why you need so much risky stratedgy. This golf corse is not easy. Better strategy and short game and next year you will be winner.

  3. Pete, keep it going mate, it’s a great watch it’s real, it’s entertaining, it’s how golf is for many ! Keep grinding away and keep doing what you love.
Golf’s hard but we love it

  4. I would imagine not many of those who qualified also run successful podcasts….if I want to watch perfect golf I would watch the highlights of the majors…interesting but not a game I’m familiar with!
It was interesting to watch you and Rick ( very good golfers ) struggle with the pressures of achieving something important to yourselves, qualification for The Open. Seeing you both have to play shots from where a lot of us do on a weekly basis and cope with the build up of pressure this puts on a club golfers game was interesting and reassuring…thanks for your honest efforts, much appreciated.

  5. chin up mate & reset. Maybe Poddy would say dont be so arrogant that you cant break 80.

  6. This is very dramatic, if you'd got through this wouldn't you then have to go to final qualifing against alot better standard of player, this wasn't for an actual spot at the open was it??? Or have I got qualification wrong?? Even Sergio didn't get through final qualifing, and look at his standard and class

  7. Tbh mate you have over 600 hundred thousand subscribers…that should tell you all you need to know about whether to keep going or not….That would have been my best round so the reason i come to your channel is to get better…..seeing a pro golfer have (for them) a bit of a mare is what makes you human. Discussing it when you feel rubbish makes it more real to all of us….chin up, keep going and give it another bash next year. Cheers

  8. Congratulations on the courage shown in publishing this video. I am Italian and I play golf and I know how difficult this game is. Don't be too sad, you played on the putting green very well and the chip shots were very good too. It also happens to the best professionals to have unlucky days. Thank you for sharing this experience of yours with us 👋 👍

  9. Quest for the Driving Range. More sand wedges less sandwiches Pete….Dont play.that pitiful background music its loser stuff.

  10. I think your biggest problem is your bodylanguage and how down you are on yourselves. Didnt look like somebody that is happy to be playing in the Open Champs QF.

  11. No doubt about it, this series needs to continue. As a person who beats themselves up mentally, for the littlest mistakes on the course, this episode is absolutely needed. Seeing how you work through, learn, grow, and ultimately succeed (which WILL happen) is invaluable to someone like me. Putting yourself out there as an example of what it takes to do things like qualify, is admirable, especially when golf kicks you in the goolies. 😁 Thank you for helping me (and so many others) learn and grow along with you.

  12. I would actually love to see a kind of video of a session with a golf psychologist! But this content was great you don’t need to win for good content Pete! Keep it going!

  13. Pete, do what you want to do and don't worry about us the viewers. We all enjoy your content but its not worth you beating yourself up mentally. Mental health is really important so look after it. Thanks for being so open and honest and it must be frustrating for you as you put the plans and hard work in. Sit back with a pint and keep looking forward, you cant change what ahs happened but you sure as hell can enjoy tomorrow.

  14. Well the positive- you are human and I love the feel and emotion. Well done and I do know it hurts like hell but you will comeback stronger. ❤️💪

  15. "You lost today -but that doesn't mean you have to like it". (Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade). I hope this was not your last "crusade", you have the skills, now only thing needed is to keep your mind well focused. Continue as long as it feels good to you. And remember, for spectators, team Finch vs team Shiels, LIV style would be more important. 😀

  16. The point is that this is what golf is all about. It's not all about talent. It's about caring if you do well and then the battle with the nerves. Yes please keep going!

  17. They ARE that good in regards to pro golf whereas your good but not even close..thus your brilliant at you tube

  18. This series was awesome to watch. Including both the ups and downs. It was really good seeing you reflect on your experience at qualifying. I know I definitely relate. Thank you for being you, your content and personality are one of a kind and we all support you.

  19. Hi Pete, that was tough to watch but we all have off days. Your channel has grown into one of the best on YouTube and I thank you for all the enjoyment you bring. Top man.

  20. Wow, this really encapsulates the game of golf. The video was incredibly well done! Look at all the sweet touchy chip shots you executed along the way. Your mental fortitude was impressive, the way you were able to work towards a positive mental space for the final holes. That can be harder than executing golf shots. Would love to see you attempt this again, after having had this experience.

  21. I'm a random viewer who has watched various videos of yours down the years, but I was concerned with this. Have you consulted a sports psychologist after this experience? If not, can I suggest you do as, if not, when you stand on that 1st tee in Open Qualifying next year, all of "this" will come back to you.

So, please consult someone in "the trade" in order to rationalise, and park, this experience.

Remember, you are an exceptional golfer, despite this experience. You had one bad round, unfortunately, in Open qualifying, but that should never, ever, define you as a golfer. So, please, go and get some advice, and return to Open Qualifying next year, and show the world how good you really are!!!

  22. So sad for you – you know that you can do it <3 I enjoy following you. Don't you dare stop !!! As said you know you can. Kind regards from Denmark

  23. Peter, please continue with serie. At least i enjoy your struggle good and bad. Your feelings and experience is known by all of us. Keep up the good work

  24. That was a bit of a hard watch, seriously gutted for you Peter, I knew what had happened before I've watched it, I just wanted to see how you coped with that day and score. You we're obviously very disappointed in yourself. I'm still extremely happy for you to go again all the hard work you put in looked like it would lead to a successful day obviously not to be. But don't let that one day stop you trying again.

  25. I felt ill as you waited to tee off!!! So I can only imagine how you felt!! Looked like terror! 😂😂👍🏻

  26. I get way more out of watching you handle adversity….i know you don’t like it, I don’t either, but this is what amateurs need to see how good amateur players handle difficult days.

  27. The greens looked rock-hard. The fact that you can play through a bad round like you did has inspired me. Next time will probably be completely different, we all know that golf is just like that, so keep it going.

  28. Well done Peter, maybe next year.
If you see the hcp of the amateurs on the open they are -6. This is almost pro level.
Don't know what yours is at the moment but -6 is insane. 🤯
Even if you are 0 or -1, going to -6 is a looooong way.

  29. It doesn't seem like you are having fun. Why aren't you talking to your self?. You need to do more eventes. Ei. Charity, channel events where ur surrounded by your fans.

  30. Man thats first tee shot is my fear/ usual outcome …or usually more hackers style right miss with a fade /slice …but though it must’ve pissed you off im glad to hear you get nerves like us normal duffers.. nice chip to erase the memory of the drive 👍🏼✌️

  31. Have to say your technical and statistical analysis is superb. Keep your head up mate and if you do one next year, I’ll be here to watch and cheer you on from my couch! Enjoy mate!

  32. thanks for sharing… the reality between good golfers and pro's is so hugh, for most tv golfers not understandable

  33. Definitely keep the quest for the open series going next year, the warm up comps are brilliant to watch, next year you could introduce a sports psychologist into the process?
You played really good golf in the lead up, that qualifying round could have gone very differently and didn’t reflect your overall golf. Try and enjoy it for what it is, an extremely difficult feat even if you play your best on the day. The content is easily the best golfing series on YouTube
