How high to tee up irons? This is a common question, and Tee height makes SUCH a difference to Iron distance! It’s logical really. In this golf video I’ll be experimenting with tee peg height for iron shots. Although it may look intimidating to tee shots lower, I’ll show you the difference it can make by teeing iron shots higher. It’s a lot more than you might think! I’ll test out a high tee setup for irons and a much lower tee height for irons. You will see just what the PERFECT tee height is for your irons that will maximise distance off the tee. #teeheight #irons #golftips #foryou #subscribe #golf

hi there everyone welcome to another video have you ever had that feeling that when you’re hitting your clothes you’re IR specifically that they’re just not going as far as you think they should so this video is all about analyzing that because sometimes you can put a really good swing in it and hit it quite well and just wonder that that didn’t go as far as you think it should so this is looking at something that’s a very simple fix that a lot of people get wrong um and I used to do this as well until I realized the difference that it makes and it’s all to do with tea height and the use of the tea so let me show you through this video exactly what I mean because once you get to the end of this you’ll realize how much difference a tea makes why it’s good to use in certain situations and how it affects the ball flight so watch’s this I’m going to start off with just a te I’m going to tear it quite High lots of players get comfort from tearing a ball high because they feel like it’s going to help them and does but you have to think about what it does to the ball so let’s start off with hitting one for higher te I’ve got my seven eye my seven eye normally goes about um if I’m playing on the course it’s going to go about 190 is but if I really hit it hard it’s going to go over 200 yards so we’re going to hit a couple with a high te use the castle te I normally use for 3 with so the balls quite H here let’s see how this goes nice and straight okay so you can see that you know the ball speed was okay on one of those but it was still down I nor expect 125 um but not massively High I’m short of where I would normally hit but it makes sense because I’ve got this High te that the balls being presented right up the iron face up here that’s more Loft launch is higher but more Loft it’s acting more like a eight iron or n and n eight and a half iron that’s sort of thing so that’s why it’s not going as far easier to get off the ground which is why beginners and high handicaps I guess would prefer it and it does look nicer but it’s to high so let’s have a look now at what happens when we te it down low we press this small te right down low it’s it’s just off the map now so let’s see what happens with this one [Music] okay more like it isn’t it so let’s have a look at that yeah B speeds where expect it 126 spins all right still launching nicely but it’s because I’m hitting it more in the middle of the face where you where the club’s designed to hit do one more oh massive pull yeah there we go 195 okay guys so what can we learn from this we can learn that if we tear up too high look how much distance is affected by that so it’s 24 yards in total with the with the run out but carry as well 23 yards carry and yes okay hit a couple of those ones the ones teed down a bit pulley so they’re going to go slightly further but that’s only going to add a little bit to it you can see how much difference it makes tearing it high adds Lo it adds spin in this situation um actually the launch was about the same weird enough it was launching slightly higher um and the balls spe drops down so don’t tee it too high I know it adds confidence and makes you feel like you can get the ball airb which is great when you struggle with strike and things like that but once you start progressing a bit it really can affect it and it’s the reason why sometimes you hit a really good shot of the te and then you think oh that’s gone like it’s dropped in the water just in front of a par three so that can be the reason obviously there’s many other things it could be as well but try experimenting with it and see what happens as always if you found that helpful uh and you like that video um give me a like put in the comments have you tried any different uh experiments with tea Heights and what was the result and if you’re feeling really generous you could always subscribe as well so you don’t miss out on other interesting videos like this uh tests and reviews balls and clubs and things like that anyway give it a try see what you think see how it affects the game thanks a lot for watching watch [Music]

  1. I can’t believe how much difference tee height can make to the distance irons go! Let me know what tee height you prefer for your irons and if you have experimented with tee height.

  2. I actually stopped teeing up irons altogether. I find I’m much more consistent and accurate. I only tee up woods and possibly hybrid

  3. I was in the simulator today for the first time. Hitting a 5 and 3 wood today for the first time. I managed to hit the tee from under the ball every single time. The tee would just fly into the canvas and the ball would just fall to the ground and stay where it was. I picked the smaller tee after the first few shots. Same result. Golf continues to amaze me. Such a unique sport.

  4. I don’t use tees ever. I hit everything off the deck and am a way better player now. It’s made me a much more consistent ball striker.

  5. Thinking about it… probably should do another video with no tee and short tee to see the difference too…😂
