the crowds the place the champion it was a weak to be remembered here at Lancaster Country Club and now yucas Sasso has two usw Women’s Open trophies I’m hope Arnett and you’re watching LPGA now let’s get into it so nice she did it twice the US Women’s Open presented by Ally brought nothing but drama during the final round the champion started three back from the lead and really wasn’t in it until her back nine but Yuka did have this early Birdie on two to give her some momentum oh man saso continuing to fill it up her backto back birdies on 12 and 13 sent her straight to the top up until that point it seemed like it was between Andrea Lee and mile Le but then the 12th hole showed its teeth feel the wind behind them with the structure behind this scen did she catch it danger is going to go in the water oh win like this is lifechanging when Yuka won in 2021 at the Olympic Club she wasn’t even an LPGA Tour member it put yuka’s name on the map and the world fell in love with her and her swing I think it just makes it special because after a long wait and you I wasn’t expecting to win the open um every time I I mean last time too I wasn’t expecting and this year this time to I wasn’t expecting it I think that’s why it made it made me a bit uh emotional and you know winning you know just make you look back and um know all the things that your family and your team and you know my sponsors they uh they’ve supported me throughout you know good or good or bad and looking like she was feeling absolutely no pressure she stepped up to this putt on 15 and rolled it in the champ was leading by two when she stepped up to the par for 16 that the USGA made driveable for the final round carry the bunker what a fabulous shot wow step up there after that weight and just execute to Perfection two birie for saso at the 16th to go three clear playing two groups behind the leaders she fought her way up the leader board and finished with a par on 18 and that was more than enough to get the job done and that should be the one that does it I think I really wanted it as well um not just to get a second win but to also to prove something to myself um you I haven’t won in two and a half for 3 years and um you know you you I I definitely had that a little doubt um if I can win again or if I won’t win again um but yeah I think those experience helped a lot and I think I was able to prove a little bit something to myself this week the half Japanese half Filipino star earned $2.4 million after fighting doubts the last couple of years and if that’s not a story of passion and perseverance then I don’t know what is yucas Sasso a two-time usw women’s open champion
