hello everyone and welcome back to easiest swing today we’re going to be diving into something that’s holding back so many golfers tension in your golf swing most golfers are completely unware of just how much they’re killing their golf swing with tension let’s learn how to fix that and start swinging freely that’s coming up [Music] next so the number one killer in a golf swing is tension it will steal your feel and Rob you of your ability so tension pulls muscles in it shortens muscles it makes a reduced size of golf swing and if anything when you get tension you’ll end up typically hitting the top side of the golf ball because of this reduction in the length of your muscles tension here tension in my forearms in my wrists in my upper arms here my shoulders even into my neck and back tension and what happens in the golf swing when I’m tense the swing becomes like this awkward very difficult to get a free golf swing one that’s going to complete on the back swing or on the follow through because of that tension so see that tension can even cause injury and unnecessary strain on your body this makes gol feel exhausting and difficult the other thing that tension does is it creates a kind of barrier between your Natural Instincts and the uh ability to swing the golf club freely so we’ve just got to get rid of that barrier remove all of the tension and loosen up once you’ve done done that you can now swing the golf club freely and naturally take keep the tension out of your swing all the way through it’s not just when you start off at the address position here it’s throughout the whole swing because very often we can start nice and relaxed but then we get tense as we go back or we get tense at impact or we get tense in the follow through tension is this killer so you just really need to get rid of it look for it identify it and remove it and once you have you can create a lovely easy golf swing so where does tension come from physically it can manifest itself in your wrists your hands your arms shoulders even in your legs and even in your face mentally it stems from fear fear of movement fear of making a bad shot fear of judgment from others even so often golfers believe they must control the golf club in the swing and actually that in itself will develop tension It All Leads to unnecessary strain so let’s have a look at tension and how to get rid of it great news the new book that easiest swing and golf is now available through our website you can go to easi swing.com and you’ll find a link to the book there’s also the old book positive impact golf written by Brian and there is a free downloadable couple of chapters to give you a flavor of that book so head to easys swing.com to see the old and the new book we’ll start by identifying it and finding out how much tension you’ve got and to do this I’m going to go to the maximum I can get in the way of tension and as you can see the golf club doesn’t want to move in that position so I’m just going to start reducing that tension and relaxing and you see my shoulders my arms my wrists and look how the golf club moves differently when I’m relaxed much much more relaxed and slow and easy when it’s swinging just even before I’ve actually taken a a swing so that’s the starting point next we really want some movement in there there’s nothing better than lead Dan de golf to remind you to get that movement so Le dance to golf is this remember elbows into your sides just hold the club really lightly and turn and turn letting your feet move so no restriction there and getting that rotation now if we do this nice relaxed position and we do that swing with the dance to golf Movement we create a lovely relaxed swing so remember once you’ve got rid of this tension you’ve actually relaxed yourself stand back from the ball get yourself ready you’ve done some ladance to golf movements and you’re just feeling a lot more relaxed nice deep breath that will also help bit of a sigh that a always helps to get rid of tension and now as we set up to the ball we can just be very free very easy and I’m going to trust that Golf Club to swing not quite a hole in one so remember approach your shots with calm there’s nothing to fear just enjoy yourself play the shots don’t worry even if you’ve played a bad shot on the last shot just approach the next one really relax and you’ll be surprised how many good shots You’ll Play now youve seen that do you think you could also play a shop with zero tension just let it go go and see what happens I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised so thanks for watching and if you’ve enjoyed the video please remember to like And subscribe and we look forward to seeing you in the next video

Excellent job Mr. Sparks in explaining and demonstrating the #1 problem that a amateur golfer has in his golf swing! I think this is more true as a golfer ages and starts to loose distance. They feel if they apply a little more pressure to the handle that their muscles will react better. As you pointed out, the opposite is true! Well Done Sir!
