in Dubai obviously it’s an incredible venue a golf course no word of a lie I’ve wanted to play the very first time I ever set eyes on the place and today is the day I’m here we go yes we’re going head to-head today about time Rick in a big in a big big matchup but we have got some help and some support in the Red Corner on Rick’s team I have the incredible the Fantastic let’s be honest everybody’s favorite Miss IA Steven IA she’s my partner today and I’m excited to take on guy and his somewhat partner who you got listen it’s all well and good you’ve got a bit of chemistry you know which the well me and my partner have already hit off Olivia Jackson oliv how are you good guy live team give we are going to give we are going to give you a past in you’re going down we’re going to win this I am very excited team give so I love that um Olivia is the professional at Emirates Golf Club so and she is her base this is where she lives in Dubai and you play this golf course many of times yeah I play it most weeks most weeks wow the only one in this group that has played the golf course so you’re going to be our T guide as well today and the format is somewhat simple hopefully I can explain it better than I did to Iona two seconds ago it’s going to be 2v2 18 hole stroke play however there’s a Twist both players or all players tea off we’re going to choose the best t- shot from your pair and then you both play your own golf ball from that location y got it got it 18 hole stroke play so anything can happen I excited I’m intrigued I can’t wait to play this golf course without further Ado let’s te off the first hole right first hole what we what we saying here Olivia um do you see that you see that lower building that you can see quite clearly like left edge of that is perfect okay great here we go guy odds or even they’re going to punch me then odds would you like to go first or I will go first okay so those guys to going first it was a tit three I think on the iconic holes prob you guessed the right number guys do you want us to all go off the same tea yes is that you that but on this hole blue the rest white all right fine yeah I just want to get this yeah yeah it’s on you guys first well enjoy girl come on Liv Liv tin off first plan today she’s going to put it in play and then going to absolutely try and smoke it see what happens that’s our tactic that’s thck talk I’m obviously on team Rick but I always support the GS go and live completely lost time right couldn’t see it at all bad right or safe right uh maybe right right safe that’s music to my ears it’s quite hard to see it into the Sun how you feeling Liv how how was your first t- shot how did you feel get nervous I’m not going to lie lose my job it’s after my it’s after my job yeah he is Mr consistency yeah I’ve been called that before I’ll take it team captain you can be team captain no nice I’m trying to come up with a a fun name of our team now seem that they’ve got team give there’s a cheeky kickoff path you might have got a bit of a lucky break all right that is that was a good hit tiger line partner Okay so we’ve gone for my drive on this hole we’ve got 164 left into the pin which should be a nice 7 iron I think and then from here we’re playing our own ball okay going to go seven iron get on the green it’s fraction heavy but it’s right on it Fly it’s a great strike get up oh that’s a great shot live pin high thank you play it so again just a reminder of the format we’ve gone with might t- shot here down the first just in the left roof not a bad angle and once we hit from here we’re on our own golf ball and it’s better ball stroke play so really we’d like to think ring for an under pass score today that’s the goal yeah going go pitching wedge 138 yards oh it’s phenomenal it’s looking good though phenomenal didn’t see it finish but I mean it’s got to be close oh yeah it’s like 10 foot away Lo that part Hill 10 10 footer for birdie come on let’s go left of it but go yeah I think that’s enough Club yeah just on the side of the green all righty where have we ended up down the left oh this is horrible Sandy lie look at this this is the sandiest lie I ever did see must have just caught the false front there I was a bit worried it wasn’t enough Club so now I’m going to have to re bump and run it up there cuz of the lie so I’m just off the green here I’ve got about 60 ft to the flag go on this looks really good oh this looks very good oh fairly happy nice effort okay partner you’re pretty good so I’m just going to try and hold this I like it right say a prayer for me here oh good ni TI which is the main thing that makes your knees knock look like quite a Sandy lie it was sandy sandy l City credit to you there guy great 7 IR I’ve got this one here down the hill left to right right nice to start off with a birdie again it’s stroke play own ball anything can happen today quite no they’re Quick aren’t they over end but that was that extra bite of porridge didn’t want to go that F fast you wanted that birdie okay I’m going to try and learn from Ricks there came off the left it’s pretty quick no I’m just very similar stay that either right all putting for p oh okay for p i h forgot a putter so I’m going to roll this one in nice solid very good level p through the first level through one all right good start good power I’m still struggling for a team name at the moment right yeah that’s a good point Rick and Iona R riona riona it’s quite a nice name doesn’t does it mean enough um that enough passion to it ick I wow wow giving me the I got a good ring to it to be fa um no we give them the I yeah give them that’s it because we’ll be annoying and gritty what I mean else after one nice got to respect that lot time for that it’s like in America where they have all these Comfort stations yeah they love a comfort station don’t they let’s be honest though as well like you need certainly if it’s somewhere hard you do you do need a lot of fluid yeah you know I I’ve been to this Golf Course once before because I was part of a series called the greatest clubhouses in the world well I’ve seen your halfway house one I didn’t know you did a clubhouse one too we did a clubhost one and this was one of the club hostes for obvious reasons set on the beautiful dose sale it’s a stuning clubh it is pretty special okay second hole power four um Fairway looks like it runs out about 220 yards you want to hit one about 210 yards right five I in at the fountain left of it actually a little bit left of the fountain strike nice beautiful good shot sometimes I wake up in the morning I’m just like I’m a natural striker of the golf so like good Target here is that like Fountain okay perfect let’s see it absolute ball Striker little buttercut on the fountain picks the tea up walks away that is go shot thank you right cheeky little fivewood great nice thank you I’m just wondering if there any anything else I should do rather than just it an iron take it on go for the green but you’re in a great spot so what’s the point in like not doing something stupid take something down the right down the right you see there’s like this Slither of oh Fairway okay so that just tuug the right it’s either going to lose the ball or it’s in the Fairway I’m going to hit driver down the right side that’s perfect great shot nice okay so Liv nailed a three-wood there got 110 left in what you thinking I’m going to hit a nine on a bit of an up slope so I’m just going to grip down on a 9 sounds good stay there yeah nice shot pin High okay 110 yards for me should be a kind of 3/4 to full 50° think I’ll go a bit more on the full side though actually oh fight it let me wet go go oh that was always the risk though I just had a little bit inside thought might F that ah what a fool right after never playing here before and next time I play here I’ll never hit driver again cuz I’m one and done into the smallest Fairway possible unbelievable scenes I do just want to say that I keep finding the Fairway here you made a great sh and it’s totally useless cuz Uncle Rick over here just keep striping them taking a tiger line finding these tiny little it’s like finding a I don’t know landing on a motor’s ey patch that is what you’ve done it is I must admit this is a small Slither 61 yards actually played that really nice just didn’t quite spin so learning from that I don’t know I think you could possibly go a little bit I don’t know let let’s give ourselves two birdie putts sit oh bit deep oh bit deep tough from there in hindsight a fuller shot from yours might have been a better option but tricky little yardage 60 yards is couple still from birdie yeah hopefully cheeky little Chien kned it sit down hit the hole you went for it you might as well go for those birdy ones that’s terrible so I think this is going to be quite a quick one down here grain’s running away from us so what have we got Liv got about 30 ft okay it’s pretty quick as you saw ia’s shot kind of took off the Grain on this golf course it’s it really has an impact on on the puts the don’t I don’t it’s as much I’ve been told about gray so much it just doesn’t come into my consideration honestly it doesn’t she got it oh great effort great pot thank you okay down the hill right to left it’s going to be fat ass going to try and hit it almost halfway a good for paace very nice great for paace we’re in for par yeah two both teams level par okay third hole it’s a short one uh Par Four pretty much straight down down so good line is like just left of the city center hotel that prong that’s sticking out got a three-wood in hand shot yeah that looks like it’s A1 Target yeah great shot got left uhoh in someone’s Garden get left guy’s not a goer for greens that was always going to end up going that way I felt yeah lovely shot very nice when it’s downwind this hole you can get it on that front edge yeah nice shot thanks okay iona’s in A1 position work with Grant Thornton but I do want to say like those guys really support the lpj and doing things right and I’ve got a lot of time for this event this week which is male professionals from the PJ lpj professionals coming together playing in this kind of format and it’s so cool like I want to watch Tony feno Nelly Corda more than anything play as a team and you’ve got Ricky fer and Lexie Thompson yeah TR think you were the other pairs there’s some good ones though you got um the other one well we think about that which golf shot do you want to go with all right so where are you bunker oh so you are should we go from the Fairway I don’t know I mean it’s obviously it’s interesting these green complexes so far cuz the way they kind of like fall off the front they’ve got these false fronts and they’re quite tricky look see how far we are are here I’d like it to be like 90 okay oh no it’s even better what is it 99 yeah Rick asked me to leave a 100 how is that that is it’s actually just readjusted it’s actually 100 loving that let’s go I think this let’s stick to our plan and make a b 100’s pretty good for me I think as well with this I like 100 job4 what do you use for 100 yards almost a exact full 56° wedge oh nice okay okay we’re going to go with ionas 56 uh sorry 99 yards to the pin 100 yards to the pin yeah um that was our strategy wasn’t it let’s give ourselves two thought that was bunker all day but I actually don’t know how it’s got there P for birdie what can we say I actually don’t know how that balls got there you know he said laying up was going to be like the nice option here you shot I don’t think this is uh massively comfortable so yeah I got about 82 yards here so I’m hitting a 54 degree wedge um on a bit of a down slope that needs to go fly go oh no it’s over you covered it you covered it okay last hole I fatted it into the hazard this hole I’m going to stiff it 82 yards 3/4 50° wedge 54° wedge Ed be good sit sit sit sit sit sit I think you might have just hung on there should be all right yeah I’m just going to try and play a little bump and run my 48° here that’s a nice keep going B not bad not bad okay after both well I just found the green but long way away I has just gone through the back in hindsight I was in this bunker just to the right actually in hindsight we should have maybe taken ours but it’s easy to say that I think we would have got closer than these two but either way one of these drop all can be forgotten right to left it’s going to be fast once it goes over the the break of the Hill go on go pretty good partner giving off it’s good team energy yeah there is very calm relaxed yes yeah that’s why I need we just need some putts to drop now I think it’ll come my driving as always is a bit iffy it can be smashed like how out that flag s little uh tree to the to the right of it oh pure so good yeah I’m happy with that okay after a solid Drive 208 yards left into this par five pin looks like it’s at the front I’m going to go five iron put one right down the throat of it I love it when there’s like a weird like a building in the background or something gives me something to aim at what shot do I want to hit though I want to hit that nice high fade oh I hit the high fade but started it too straight going it’s going to feed in from there yeah sorry wasn’t my best strike that right partner give you that t look at this ball it’s like talk about a Snowball Effect this is a sand ball effect it’s collected so much sand on it off a down slope throwing it about I don’t know 35 yards this is all kinds of guess the distances then and then laser it she actually guessed 38 yards and it is 38 yards so she’s got some skill going to go 58 degree wedge it’s not a great deal of uh green to work with she need to stop pretty quick go on go release go go go go go go ah ah it’s got a bit scared over it is it on me to go I’m off the green maybe well I want a birdie so I think I’m going to go ahead and and get pretty good so I’ve got a 7 an eyon here and I think I’m just going to take it a smidge more right than that that was not right it’s okay do you know what though it’s in the middle of the green it’s fine y 125 yards really nice t-shot actually it’s a bit I’m not iconic t-shot but I tell you what that water left if I have known about it I luckily I’m fine but it’s a bit sneaky that water on the left I’m just going to flick a little wedge in there just take a touch of spin off it get there shot leave it long I don’t think it should be now that’s really nice stay online stay online stay online Line stop there stop there oh just hit that little bit of bank but it’s coming back okay I thought I was on that top tier I went I was greedy and tried to get there and I’ve just just just run through from Long Range you can see the grains down I like that you give it a go though got a lot of time for that this is a really confusing part I’m so confused by this read partner need you what’s your best way of reading grain from the Hole uh yeah and then you can see the light in the dark as well I think this is straight it has to go this way at the end okay a tiny bit but most of it straight I’d go left side okay yeah good speed don’t think it did go right did it didn’t budge nice for birding to get back to level oh a bit oh o saying is that good she changed her tone now I want to make a cat it is for me with absolute of Steel just that solid I like to look at you as I was put in that then I’m not that confident seventh to power four slight dog leg left just over 400 yards uh I’m I’m guessing just favor down the right side a live yeah better better up the right that big that palm tree that big palm tree in the middle it’s like go poost isn’t it between the two yeah it’s fine yeah point that’ be interesting right we’ve got 176 normally my 79 goes 170 if I smoke it got slightly uphill light potential bit of a flying a little bit wet in the grass so that bit of water in the groove can take a spin off so I’m going to try and hit 7 in I don’t want to try and F I’m smashing it it’s going to let the club do the work but I think 79 should get me there okay left rip the strike yeah that should be pretty good to be fair yeah right side of the green it’s good okay so I’ve got a five hybrid here let’s see if we can hit it inside that oh pry just be good hold that line that was a great shot don’t know didn’t see it today okay we’ve actually gone for this shot out the bun uh because it’s a little bit shorter distance 154 yards um you like this one is this right I yeah I think I like the angle from here as well like obviously fairy bunker shot so there’s an element of precision required but I feel like the angle you can just take on the flag here and there’s a bit of rim to the right of it you just got to strike it well haven’t you yeah oh that’s beautiful that is so good that should be really really good little L Tian nips off the top come on we need a bird in our Iona I know bit flat being only being level P so what times we’ve played together though we have generally quite a slow start and then it every round that’s true alzora it’s like slow slow slow and then the magic comes so just wait for it folks strike oh that’s going to be really good big yeah I think you’re on the green Nice Shot thanks really nice okay he’s got interesting shot here it could be a putter or it could be a chip I’m going to chip it going to chip my 50° 5 out of 10 going to put this even though it’s a little bit uneven on this Fringe I just feel like it’s such a tight lie Sandy quite decent now such a nice distance shot just pushed it a touch okay so I’m going to go eight t as well it’s nice you good good go yeah next to mine nice good oh yeah that’s another one that’s a great shot yeah beautiful fall in the green yeah good shots make a birdie okay both similar range puts of Birdie both coming over this Crest and then moving left aggressively great pot yeah great lovely kidding very nice I went pretty much right over that beautiful part Iona you went over that pretty much right pushed it a bit high in it too much speed that was the right line you reckon like two fet right thanks them the he GBS mean I like it still Level PA through eight I feel like we’ve had some nice opportunities for birdies but no clear cut opportunities yet for birdie proximity to we’re level they one over come on we need some birdies not bad golf so far but certainly me and Iona are going to finish this round on the par that’s the goal okay Power 4 nth back towards that iconic of mine don’t think it’s a strength of many people’s but it’s about 40 50 yards luckily that bit of a back stop behind the hole so hit my 54° open the face up a bit try and use some of that balance not loads of sand in here now go go go ah didn’t fancy that one annoyingly I’d literally landed it there right on top of the hill two yard shorter and that could have gone very very close now I’ve got a real real slippery downhill Port it’s going to be so fast well that’s really surprised me nice I didn’t think there was a a way of leaving that sh all right just while waiting for guy go on I owner
