Rory McIlroy calls for golf’s ‘Good Friday Agreement’ after being locked out of LIV Golf talks!! what is next for golf now? how do we move forward? Are the PGA tour policy board making the right decisions for golf? Are they going back on the framework agreement? This is all speculation right now but Rory McIlroy has stepped down from the PGA tour Policy Board!

I Need to know your thoughts on this? Is this good for golf bad for golf? are the correct decisions for the future of the game of golf at the top being made right? Rory McIlroy left PGA Tour players’ text chain after Jordan Spieth’s LIV Golf remarks, Jay Monahan is running the PGA tour did this have anything to do with it?

my question to you now is what does Rory do next does he just go and join Liv golf because he has now stepped down again from the PGA Tour policy board and we have the full story exactly what he has said on this in an interview ahead of this week’s tournament at Quail Hollow now before we go into his exact statement I’ve got a few things that I want to go through if he’s stepping down from the PJ tour policy board for the second time remember he stepped down in November last year due to the fact that he didn’t agree with the PJ tour’s Direction at that point he’s now rejoined very recently or supposedly rejoined very recently taking over the role from web Simpson now the whole idea that was put to the media is that Rory was joining back towards the PJ tour because of his change of stance in order to Channel A Better Direction and get to a solution quicker but my question for you is right here if he’s stepping down again does this mean he doesn’t agree with what the direction of the PJ tour policy board is going in number one and then if that isn’t an agreement cuz we have to assume that Rory wants just Unity within the game so I.E the PF fund PGA Tour live golf and DP World Tour coming to some sort of agreement does that mean the PJ tour now don’t want that because we have heard rumors that Jordan spe being one of them said now we don’t need the money from the PF fund because we have the investment from the Fenway Sports Group Rory didn’t agree with that so this very fractur nature within the PJ tour now what does that mean for the direction of our goal because if we’re being perfectly honest yes the PJ tour don’t need the money in terms of investment to make the tour better but we do need the money in the sense of allowing an agreement to take place because an agreement is only going to take place if money exchanges hands and the agreement means we can see all the best players play more often together and that’s exactly what we want as gol fans so let’s go through Rory’s statement but they the things I wanted to get off my chest on that because if you think about this logically if Rory now doesn’t agree and they all can’t agree what does this mean for the direction of golf I just think we got to put bygones be bygones in my opinion I’m not on the inside I don’t know exactly what’s going on but what is going on here just seems a little bit ridiculous I feel sorry for Rory right now I really really do so this is what Rory said now Rory said this maroy tentatively accepted ahead of Thursday’s opening round at the world shargo championship at Quil Hollow Northern Carolina he told reporters that he will not now be rejoining the PGA Tour policy board after all it’s just a pretty complicated and pretty messy maroy said with the way it happened it opened up some wounds and Scar isssue from things that have happened before and I think that was very substant of people on the board who were com who were uncomfortable with me coming back on for some reason so he’s suggesting that people on the board don’t want him back back I think the best cause of action is if there is some people on there who aren’t comfortable with me coming back and I think web stays and sees out this term he’s got a got to a place where he’s comfortable with doing that I just keep doing what I’m doing I’m impatient because I think we’ve got got this window of opportunity to get this done because both sides from business perspective I wouldn’t say need to get it done but it makes sense and that’s what exactly what I was saying Rory is saying from a business perspective nobody actually needs this money but to unify the game of golf a transaction has to take place now he doesn’t stop there and I really do agree with what he’s saying now with all these stories let me know what you think I just think I feel sorry for him him having to step down for the second time but from I’m going to put it from this point of view I’m sort of speculating here a little bit from the point of view that he wants to unify the game and maybe the rest of the board don’t agree with that or certain individuals don’t agree with that I sort of liking it to when Northern Ireland went through the peace process in the ’90s The Good Friday agreement neither side was happy Catholics weren’t happy Protestants weren’t happy but it brought peace and we just sort of learned to live whatever has been negotiated with right that was in 1988 or whatever 20 25 30 years ahead My Generation doesn’t know any different it’s just what it’s always been like and we never know anything but peace that sort of my little way of trying to think about and trying to make both sides see what there could be a compromise here yes it’s probably not going to probably not going to feel great for either side but it’s just a place where the game has to golf has to go again to thrive and we all get back together then I think that’s ultimately a really good thing I think Rory right here is talking sense Rory 18 months ago wouldn’t have said this but maybe I keep speculating here part of the policy board are in that stance where we don’t want to join with the PF fund I think it’s absolutely crazy we need to let byy guns be byy guns and I’d love to know what people don’t want Rory back and what has made his decision to leave really or what person what people have made this decision for him to step down from the PJ to policy board I know for one thing it’s definitely good for his golf so hopefully next week at the at the PJ Championship he can get the W which would be class to see so we have time for today roria stepped down from the PJ tour policy board as individuals on the board don’t want him there and sort of doing little things to make him feel uncomfortable 1. Rory quit the board. He lost his chance. Now he wants back? Personally I think the other guys DO NOT TRUST him. Sorry, he is all over the place with his comments. I feel bad that the PGA used him, but again, He quit the board, you had your chance, competitors tend not to like people that give up. So I am not surprised they don't want him back.

  2. This sounds like a case of Non-Buyers remorse. Now that Jon and Tyrell and other Ryder Cup stalwarts have moved to LIV, he wants some kind of "deal" that will get mommie and daddy back together again. What he really wants is for LIV to be dissolved, all the players moved back to the PGAT, AND, he wants all the PIF money moved there as well!! See, that's all you have to do to make us all happy again. In the meantime the 70 annointed PGAT members get to play in the Signature Events while the 86 B-team get the scraps. Who needs this guy on the Policy Board – what's he doing for the 86?

  3. I am sick of the back and forth. The Pro game is not good right now, because all of the best players are not out there competing on the same course each week. All the PGA Tour is doing is putting the Korn Ferry players in front of us every week. It's sad what is happening. LIV has completely disrupted the game and it is only sustained because money doesn't matter.

  4. I'm going to call BS on that. Rory is all about Rory (which is fair enough, but please be honest about it). Also the PGA is all about controlling the players. Look how "little" the purses were before LIV. All the excuses in the world were indoctrinated into the PGA Tour players but the reality is that the PGA Tour Board doesn't give a shit about them, it just wants to control the players and the money – which rightfully should belong to the players.

  5. He’s probably stepping down because it’s a lot of stressful work that seems to have no actual effect.

  6. This has become a sh1t show, all because the PGA couldn't handle the heat. It's been coming for a long time because only about 15 players were making big money. If the PGA had just bitten the bullit a long time before LIV it would be a non-issue. Mickelson was an ignored warning. Now look, they ruined watching golf for me at least. I don't care about watching the same boring no-name leaderboard week after week.

  7. You are misstating the facts: "…he has now stepped down again from the PGA Tour Policy Board." That is not true – he was not allowed to rejoin the second time.

  8. Maybe hes decided to leave the political side of it all and just concentrate on playing his golf without thinking about other crap. Might start winning stuff again

  9. I think you are reading too much into it. His game hasn't been the best. Maybe he wants to just focus on his game and try to get on top? Maybe?

  10. LIV should play 36 hole teams, have a cut with top players playing the last 18 holes. This should allow them to get world ranking points.

  11. Rory removed himself from board months ago, smart move. Web decides he's had enough because his sponsor invites seem like a conflict of interest and he looks bad, correct! Web says he will step down only if Rory is his replacement. Who the hell does Web think he is telling the others what to do? How about you just leave Web! Rory was never invited back, so there was no rejection on his part. The PGAT has let the inmates take control and it's a mess.

  12. Dude Alex Rory literally confirmed hundreds of times he’s not going to LIV 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️

  13. I agree 100% with Golfzilla5000…..Jay Monahan is a 'self-absorbed' pre-Madonna who is the common denominator of negativity in this childish battle. He needs to be dismissed by the PGA players with immediate effect. Conversely, Greg Norman has conducted himself with decorum. He is a true legend who commands respect as a past champion golfer as well as for his amazing business acumen. The OWGR should be scrapped and replaced by a new 'workable' rating system that encompasses ALL golfers from ALL tours fairly…..not just the elite few players.

  14. Here is the problem with Rory, when the first group of guys went to the LIV tour he verbally berated everyone of the players for making a business decision that would finacially secure them and their families for the rest of their life. Something Rory, was already able to do for himself. Rory, instead of minding his own business, went on to start a crusade against these players and the LIV tour in the name of the PGA tour and felt that he was just as important to the tour as Tiger Woods. When the PGA tour made the decision to deal with the LIV tour behind the PGA tour players backs it made Rory look like a fool after saying everything he did on behalf of the PGA. The PGA tour used Rory and then threw him out on front street. Rory was infuriated that nobody called to notify him of the decision. He then quit the board and later softens his stance and tone on the LIV tour and players. Rory made himself look like a fool by continually bashing the players that left and then by acting like a woman scorned by the PGA tour. He only then changed his tone about LIV and now he wants to be a peacemaker after everything he said? Rory would be best served served by keeping his mouth shut and focusing on his game so maybe he could pull off a win in the near future. It's no wonder the players don't want him back on the board, 1. He reversed himself so many times how can you trust anything he says. 2. He has lost a ton of respect with fans and players alike based on his erratic behavior, acting like a spoiled rich kid instead of grown man.

  15. I think it's time people start thinking like adults and see things as they are and not what they wish it to be.
    – LIV golfers have contracts. They can't just up and leave. If Golfer A got $100 mil for a 5-year contract and has only played 1 year, will he really pay back $80 mil to go play on the PGA tour?
    – The tours have different formats and LIV has a team element.
    – PGA made its bed when they accepted the SSG deal. How can anybody even expect Yasir to invest his "blood money" (what they called the PIF money) into PGA when LIV Golf is treated as it is? You can't have your bread buttered on both sides…PGA golfers made the decision to stay on PGA and now they should live with the consequences (and less money) or try to get a contract with LIV…easy as pie.
    – PGA has realized that their product is weaker without the top golfers that went to LIV. PGA has fewer viewers now. PGA won't be able to negotiate the same type of deals with advertisers, sponsors, and TV bosses now with those golfers not on their tour anymore. So they should also maybe start to accept that their role has diminished and beggars can't be choosers. The PGA needs LIV golfers….LIV doesn't need the PGA, LIV golfers just want to play in Majors.
    – LIV golfers can't just go and play on PGA events and the same goes for PGA golfers. The only thing in my mind that can happen is if the PGA and LIV negotiate events to be added in which the golfers from different tours can compete against each other.
How: The Ryder Cup and Presidents Cup rotate. So I would suggest scrapping the Presidents Cup but not the team. Then you are left with the USA team, the European team, and the Presidents Cup team. Add a LIV team and the 4 teams can play against each other in a Ryder Cup-type tournament in a Round Robin at the end of the year to determine the winner. That would get enough viewers and push ratings. Maybe Yasir can be convinced to put up the money for such a tournament.
    – And lastly, the Majors should look at their criteria for invites. If the Majors can at least appear to be independent from PGA as they are supposed to be, and they invite the top 20/25 LIV golfers (excluding those with Major exemptions), the LIV fans might start supporting the majors again and this hate between the tours can start subsiding. The different tours should also have their own ranking system just like the PGA has the OWGR…and the Majors can use the tour's ranking to decide who they invite.

  16. I don’t like the guy, but he fell clearly on the PGAT sword, taking the heat for that snake, Monihan. He attached his lips permanently to Tiger’s ass with that idiotic Simulator Golf League. He’s trapped himself. Shoulda taken that $850mil.

  17. Rory has no idea what he thinks, the PGA have used this to their advantage , he doesn't know his own mind and is easily manipulated ..hence all the flip flopping crap he's already said on the LIV subject …
