[Music] I’m tonight’s cover one Buffalo podcast we are going to take a look back at the entire offseason free agency the draft resigning and see where we stand now but first our guys Handsome Jack broadcasting live to bills Mafia worldwide with Greg thompsett and Aaron quinnn welcome to thefield it doesn’t matter what’s happened before today today’s a brand new day it’s a brand new season your number one podcast for objective Buffalo Bills coverage no matter where you are we got you covered good evening and welcome to the cover one Buffalo podcast you are joining your host Greg Thompson along with my partner in crime Aaron Quinn Aaron how we doing oh man dude I’ve been arguing with people about the level of quality of wings at places that aren’t barbill today we need as much as I don’t care about the schedule release like the NFL’s got to throw up some something to talk about here man it’s getting Twitter’s getting rough dude it’s rough streets out here yeah uh so it’s funny you brought that up and it’s uh so uh our our our friend friend of the show Pat Moran put out a what was actually a very reasonable tweet just saying like hey I know you know barbill gets a ton of love but like it’s not that far above everybody else like there’s other really good he loves 911 and Elmos and uh gave some love to Sunny Reds where I went and joined him for the live show and um I I always use my analogy every time this comes up of like pizza New York City and that it’s not that the best pizza places in New York City are better than every other City’s best pizza places it’s that the depth of pizza places in New York City is exceptional because you can’t stay open serving pizza in New York City unless you’re really good because there’s so many other good places so it’s that the 184th best pizza place in New York City is as good as the third best place in every other city and that that’s how I compare um Wings in Buffalo the best wings in Buffalo are very very good and they maybe are slightly better than the best wings in every other city but there are wings in almost every other City that are also as good the biggest difference is the 20th best wing place in Buffalo is as good as the second best wing place in most other cities because you can’t stay open a buffalo serving crappy wings because you can go so many other places and get good Wings there’s one to stay open like it has to be pretty good there’s one caveat to that is uh there’s a Buffalo Wild Wings here every every non chain play in Buffalo you have to be legit because otherwise people will just stop going because you can go four minutes in any other direction and get really freaking good wings so if you’re open and have established yourself for any period of time you’re really freaking good everything else is kind of like people crap on Anchor Bar and duffs because they’re like tourist traps and they’re still good wings it’s so good I’m old enough to remember um like early Twitter where like everybody was rallying around duffs right it was Anchor Bar versus duffs and people would be like oh you got to go to Anchor Bar because it’s the original and everyone would come into the mention be like no you got to go to duffs on Sheridan and now everybody hates duffs and I think yeah I feel like barbell is like on that border line now of like they’re so popular that they’re getting hate and so my post was really to try to be like look I do love them they have great Wings I’m not here to knock barbell but yeah it goes a little too far and I think it stem from sea MC Derman being interviewed on Eric Woods podcast and a clip that he made about he doesn’t get to go there enough but his spots barbill and then everybody started talking about how like oh my God it’s kind of a tired thing where it’s like Josh Allen’s favorites barbill Brandon Bean favorites barbell like nobody branches out from just saying barbill and it’s a good easy answer to say but we do I think it is important when people come into town uh for me like I like to go on a run of wings like if I have a brother-in-law coming into town or something he’s like where should we go get wings it’s like dude let’s take a day and a bunch of gas a or Tums and like do a a little run through like flight I would have flight of wings yes so how about this I’m doing this live on the show we had planned we’re going to go out to lunch in like two weeks here when I’m in town let’s try to find a place we either haven’t ever been to or haven’t been to in a while that gets recommended and go there instead let’s go somewhere different to to go try it out and I’ll even say like I I barbill is my favorite like that’s not being cliche or like it is my favorite I really really like them I do think there’s a slight difference in the original in in uh East Aurora East Aurora versus Barbo North is still very very good the barbu and Rochester still good but it is there is a slight difference and I don’t blame people if they say I love barbill but I don’t need to wait two hours for a table go there you know I would blame somebody I live in the North towns and so driving to EAS of Ro is like that’s like almost a 30 minute drive plus like 30 minutes then to weit like they’re good but they’re still Wings we got to like put it into some and I am in Buffalo so like dude for me like here’s the other thing that once you live in Buffalo like um I can just order from like any pizza joint around the corner like Franco has good Wings laasa Brighton has good wings like if if you serve pizza you also probably have to have pretty good wings uh and most of the bars around here like so there’s like 12 options right here that I can just go get some really good there’s a Lenova not too far like so um yeah it’s it’s wild to me and yeah you could just come over my house and we could just order we could like serious we could do the flight we could order like like six from like four different places and just like mix and match our own little little flight of wings for sure anyways that was not where I planned on uh wait so this isn’t a new Wing review show we’re not welcome to the cover One Wing review we will be might as well we got nothing else to talk about this time of year oh God so speaking of which like when we get to this time of year every year Aaron and I will go through and we’ll kind of build a list of okay how long until like training camp traditionally opens when are preseason games when do we get into the actual schedule part of that’s for us part of that is actually for our sponsors to know like hey when do we get into two shows a week when do we get into you know previews on Wednesday and postgame shows on the weekend um and you know the the way sketches out is we’ve got about 12 weeks until like football is actually back and we get into you know hopefully being out there in person and Rochester going to St John fiser and scene uh Camp itself and as every offseason we’re going to go through and do um position byos breakdown so tonight we’re not going to go super deep but we thought you know we’ve gone through resigning our own guys we’ve gone through all a free agency we went through black Wednesday and all the releases we’ve now gone through the draft we’ve now gone through udfas and we’ve now gone through even kind of some second wave signings which maybe one or two of those names might come up tonight I don’t know how how impactful all of them are going to be but one of one of the guys I think actually is going to register um and we’re going to just go through and do the loften exercise for everybody so before we go into there Aon why don’t you explain for maybe people listening for the first time or aren’t familiar what the Loft and exercise is and how that how we use that as kind of a a framework of looking at the team yeah so this is um something we’ve done now for years uh we’ done as group through cover one and then on our show we actually did it back in February so if you followed right after the season we kind of just before the offseason got going we wanted to take a look at our roster as a whole what this does it’s like a very simple basically it’s like red light yellow light green light on your position groups of um ranking each position group as can you win with can you do you win because of uh which would be the top can you win with and then do you need better and you can either break it down and we are going to do it by position group or you can break it down in sort of a way to sort of scout each individual player um you can refine it as much as you want but for the sake of this show here we’re going to go through each group and um I don’t know if you Greg I went back today and listened to the conversation we had in February and a couple I hope not everyone does because we were pretty strong on Stefon Diggs being with the bills for two years talking how there’s no way that was going to happen uh so I hope people skip over that part but other than that yeah um but this was before black Wednesday right like we had we were unsure if Mitch mors was going to be back there was a lot of May what’s going to go on in the safety room but we had no ideas um and a lot of things changed beyond that and a lot of changed since and so I’m interested to see based on those conversations how we’ve changed our view of the position group with guys that don’t have NFL production yet that are now be part of how do we project that out into this and and things like that so I think it’s going to be an interesting exercise and just so that people know we do we are going to break down each individual position group on an episode in more detail you won’t get a lot of detail about each group today it’s going to be more of a general like how what’s the kind of pulse that you and I have of these groups right now and like you said how much change between then and now from pre pre-f free agency and pre any moves and pre- black Wednesday to now how much changed since then so I think that’s going to be the interesting part and just let uh you know I think I saw Marcus here in the chat um really good comment here post June 1st signings coming up that’s going to be our final kind of um status check is as we go through here we’re each going to kind of earmark uh in our mind after we go through and do all of this what is the one position we hope there is one more move what’s the POS if we had to pick one uh position group and put our chip on it to say hey once we get that $10.3 million from Trey white whether it’s a trade whether it’s a signing whatever it might be what’s the one position we wouldn’t mind seeing one more investment made uh in that position so it’s a good call by Marcus we’ll we’ll wrap the show up with that one yeah for sure all right so let’s Jump Right In um we’ll I feel pretty comfortable how we’ll do the position groups here I think I’m gonna try to do them similar to what we did um before but let’s start at the top with the easiest one right off the bat uh we win because of Josh Halen period yeah yeah we both said it um on that show last time like he’s there might be the case that Patrick momes obviously he’s an A League MVP and he does so much for the Kansas City Chiefs but I’d even argue that like Andy Reed Travis Kelce that defense um stepped up in a lot of ways that Josh Allen’s team just didn’t and Josh Allen leads and impacts the Bill’s ability to have success more than any player in the NFL so if there was tier above wi because I would hand it to Josh Allen but since we’re capped at wind because QB room’s there and beyond that I think our conversation was beyond that it’s not that great and as I don’t like Mitch trabis I don’t think he’s a good quarterback but he’s better than Kyle Allen he’s probably a better quarterback than Kyle Allen so I think they even improve this stage probably better than Case Keenum at at the stage that we had Keenum that late in his career is probably yeah uh just because he could run around and create a little bit but yeah you know not not much there um I’ll give I’m not going to ruin it because that it’s not our content but um I had the opportunity to be part of Joe Marino’s um rankings list he does every offseason where have 10 different people rank the 10 most important people on the team obviously universally all of us had Allen you guys this year because there’s been a couple years uh I’m not gonna get into it I I literally got into it with that person when they didn’t rank Josh number one um but the I won’t spoil it I was asked to do the um commentary follow-up video on Josh Allen and my point is going to be that not only is he number one I I think there’s the biggest gap between number one and number two of any team in the league like I think there’s a bigger he is so so important to it and like we have a good depth of talent but in his tenure here it’s also the farthest drop off from one to two not necessarily for a good reason because I don’t know for sure who the second most important Buffalo Bill is like there’s a debate you could probably have a half dozen guys of debating who the second most important Buffalo Bill is and part of that is because we have a bunch of guys who contribute to it and part of it is because we don’t really have a second Superstar on this team like we have a bunch of really good players I don’t know yeah there are people with that potential I mean it genuinely there are people with that potential U but let’s let’s talk about that as we go here um the next one that I was kind of borderline on in the previous show and was if we did it on a fivepoint scale it was probably a four was the running back group um I think we’ve done fine uh I think Ray Davis was at the was in the tier I wanted was maybe at the lower end of the tier of what I wanted so I’m not gonna say it’s higher but I’m glad we got back Tai Johnson I like having Ray Davis James Cook obviously we went over his stats uh in the previous one we’ll dive into it in the running back show um I still have it can win with but not at win because of yeah I’m close to win because of just because if I think if James Cook can put up the type of metrics that we saw from him and refine some of like the clean up the drops which I’m not as concerned with as many people are because they stand out more than it was a problem it was when the drops were versus he’s got a problem with drops it was just the opportunities and they were big opportunities if you can clean some of that up and maintain those types of metrics that he had I think this group could even push into to the win with there’s not a lot of running back rooms that are win or win because of um so right now I think they are win yeah yeah and but I think James Cook was putting up mcaffrey numbers literally like second in know yards per touch he was second in the NFL like better than saquin better than like other exceptional running backs better than Jonathan Taylor he had the second highest yards per touch and it wasn’t at uh like small sample set like it was with like 200 60 touches he was he was a back yeah if he can keep that up and I expect it to we saw him actually really take off after Brady came into the offense and really started prioritizing him as part of the passing game and scheming things for him so I expect that Trend to continue into Brady’s offense so I’m excited about that and the addition of Ray Davis isn’t to your point it’s he wasn’t the highest tier he wasn’t my draft Crush but he was the type I think but the the room needed and so I he was in that list that we always read a lot he was one of the guys yeah so uh I I like it it’s a winwith group and with the potential here I think going into the season to maybe be that he might be that star two that you’re looking for I I I think he’s on that list on that short list yeah um I’m gonna I’m gonna switch it up okay and I’m gonna go tight end next where where do you have tight end I have tight end that’s usually how I order a roster is running back to tight end so um this to me actually feels super similar to the conversation we just had about running back right I’ve got as a win with um Dawson or uh dton King Kade had some ups and downs but was trending in the right direction as the season went on which you expect from a rookie uh right but I do I think we all believe that he’s going to emerge as maybe not put up staggering wide receiver one numbers but number one producing pass Catcher Type role in this offense and uh the what the offense runs through and if that is the case he might become a tight end that you win because of he might he has the the ceiling of some of these guys I’m not going to say he’s a Kelsey I’m not going to say he’s one of those guys but he could be in that top 10 of tight ends and I think the League’s trending more towards that and again we have to put it with the conversation of his contract which fans hate but Dawson Knox is a really good tight end too and so the two of them as a room and I think we’re going to run more two tight end sets I really like what I expect for the production to be out of this group um I’ll take it even further uh I I think you’re spot on with Dawson Knox contractor side he is not a good value but that doesn’t matter on the football field like you’re on the field you’re it’s just the talent of the play and he took a pay cut so correct he took a pay cut and and is has incentives to earn money back he’s one of the better tight end twos in the league I’ll take it further Quinton Morris is probably one of the better tight end threes in the leag like he’s very versatile and I include him in this group Reggie gilliams one of the better tight end fours having those four guys who are all contributors roster caliber guys all special teams contributors and can do the job and I the Kelsey thing gets thrown around too much I’m going to throw that aside you’re talking about not only a first ballot Hall of Famer probably the best receiving tight end in NFL history that’s just unreasonable to compare to how about like a Mark Andrews season Mark Andrew was the number one receiving option in a good Baltimore offense give me one of those Seasons I think that’s feasible that we get you know some of Mark Anderson Seasons or Mark Andrew Seasons 64 catches for 852 yards 73 catches for 847 uh he did have the one amazing season in Lamar’s uh MVP year where he had 107 for 1300 I’ll take that one yeah I won’t mind it I’ll accept it um but most of the rest of his years are in the range of like yeah I kind of think that’s what Dalton King Kade could do this year and that’s I think a better parallel of don’t get me WR would I love 100 catches and a thousand yards and 12 touchdowns of course that’d be amazing and I I think that the high end but in the range of possible outcomes but I think that kind of Mark Andrews uh you know good offense where the number one target is a tight end is in the range of outcome so I agree and I think it’s right there yeah how about you lead us off on then the wide receiver room because that’s been the big talking point here at the offseason so I’m interested on where you see them now obviously we I like I said when we did this exercise the last time we knew Gabe Davis was probably on the way out but we definitely didn’t know stepan Diggs was on the way out um this is obviously I I don’t think universally this would be the biggest drop for anybody because we had Stefan Diggs and now we don’t have Stefan digs um so I went from you know win because of or at the whatever you want to call it at the low end of can win with how you know maybe low end of can win or uh win because of to now I’ll be honest like if I’m being fair I think it’s need better if you remove tight end from it um I like Ken Coleman I’m excited about his potential I like Curtis Samuel I’m excited about what he can do with being with Joe Brady again I like Kalo Shakir um I’ll tell you like it this came from kind of a trolling comment on Twitter where someone was like yeah but the you know the the bills have I was some comment about the I think it was the one I did with the four like hey look at our four um top receiving targets last year and how we could aggregate it with the four here and someone wrote back yeah that’s fine but we still have the worst receiving core in the NFL and I was like well that’s stupid that and then I went through all of them and I don’t know if that’s accurate but I will tell you every other fan base would argue they’d probably rather have theirs than ours like it’s in the conversation for just receiver by itself no no tight ends included no running back included no quarterback included just a vacuum of hey would you take those receivers out and plug in these receivers there’s an argument that we are the lowest in the NFL now that’s no expectations for uh Keen Coleman no third-year jump from Kalo Shakir no breakout with Curtis Samuel being rejoined with Joe Brady all those things are possible but the fact that I’m listing off those three which I think in most most offenses in good offenses would probably be like the nice third weapon that a nice third weapon and they’re all of our you know hopefully second if can kage ready to be number one but then you get Beyond there and now we’re talking who’s gonna make this team because wide receiver four is a competition of Mack Holland Justin shorter Chase Claypool quintz cus like a bunch of guys that I think are debatable of whether how many rosters in the NFL they would make um so I mean I’m giving away my answer at the end of the show probably um I I think if I’m being honest I I think I have it as needs better yeah I don’t blame you uh so I how I’ve been on the cus of with running back and tight end on their win with but like right there pushing to win because I’m the opposite here with wide receiver I had it as win with but on the cusp like it probably needs better to your point what I will say is just because at not all the names are household names doesn’t mean that it’s not a good group right like I look at the Packers last year before we knew Jordan love was a really good quarterback and it was Christian Watson Romeo dos Jaden Reed and like yeah a lot of people on Twitter had draft crushes on jayen Reed but they’re not expecting him to come into the league and do much not a lot of people knew who Romeo dos was right Christian Watson had ups and downs but was pretty incons IST and Jordan love still threw for 4,000 yards and 32 touchdowns last year and he’s not Josh Allen like he’s really good and he’s got a lot of tools but to EB’s Point uh earlier saying like who’s the quarterback throwing I do think you can make this work I’m obviously super high on Kalo Shakir and I think that he’s I don’t think he’s a wide receiver one I think some people go too far but he can push I think for like really having some crazy production if he can maintain what he was doing last year uh the way we talking about James Cook maybe maintaining what he was doing but that type of efficiency I do think he’s a super efficient guy that’s going to have some of that production and I just like the way this room rounds out I love Curtis Samuel you have these two guys that are separators kind of interchangeable pieces I’m projecting and this is the part about this discussion I hate is that Keon Coleman is gonna come in right away and get be that different tool that they need now I think this will also be a little bit foreshadowing there’s room to add here absolutely like nothing they have keep prevents me from taking a swing on anything that becomes available here whether it’s through trade or guys getting cut here as we get through the summer you you’ve heard me talk tons of times about the multiple ways even beyond the draft to add asset Acquisitions to your team there’s tons of room here um but I like some of these guys and all you need is a KJ hamler to stay healthy and pop add to this room like again it’s your point you don’t have necessarily a star yet you might have some star can turn into a star yeah khil Shakir could be a star like it’s not crazy to think I think people the one like I I’m not I’m not as high as as you are on Shakir but I like him a lot I think the one thing people do unfairly um discuss him or compare him he’s the same size as Stefan Diggs like he’s not a Cole Beasley he’s not 58 160 like he’s six foot 195 like he’s a normal size receiver so like is yeah that he can only be yeah and the same speed as isia McKenzie like you know I don’t know where his ceiling is or what the range of outcomes is I think accurately I don’t know that wide receiver one is in the range of outcomes but like he’s not like only some little slot guy like he has more potential than that for sure and I don’t know that a couple years into his career like I was super high on Stefan Diggs in Minnesota I loved his game but he was a wide receiver too with Adam th like there wasn’t a sure thing that he was I’m not projecting again khil Shakir to become Stefan Diggs but we don’t know I think that’s the most intriguing thing about Shakir is he came out and had great success last year and showed real great efficiency and and really learned the role and did some stuff in the offense that uh not everybody does and I I don’t know what the ceiling is like I don’t know that I have a cap to it and I I’m excited to find out what he can do with Josh Allen he’s putting in the work for sure and so there’s a lot of potential here which keeps me within the win with range but it’s definitely on the low end yeah so I won’t go any further into it because we have an entire show based on wide receiver and we’ll have some more comments at the end um so where are your thoughts on offensive line so I broke it up uh with interior and okay so let’s do let’s do interior offensive line then so interior offensive line I’m curious who do you count so since then we lost Morse we added will clap we added Cedric van pran and maybe half of lyo Collins because I don’t know which group you count him in yeah yeah so I am considering it mostly uh to start even though I said on the last show that I think uh van uh van could push yeah that I think he’s going to make this push here this summer I’m considering it for this exercise that we’re gonna go with the word that we’ve heard from Brandon Bean so it’s GNA be McGovern at Center David Edwards at left guard and Osirus torren at Right Guard um with uh vpg sort of that backup rotational Center guard option right um and you got Alec Anderson yeah Al Anderson we signed W clap who is like not special but is probably not that far off of Ryan Bates if we’re being honest yeah yeah for sure and yeah and so I had it this one last year I had it as a win with again this is similar to wide receiver for me where it’s like barely on the cusp of wiwid because I don’t know what Conor McGovern as a center looks like and that change to me from Mitch Morris to anyone else feels so unsettling and so unsure not bad but unsure I think and that uncertainty for me and it shifts a line that I think was the best line that we’ve seen in Josh Allen’s career and it was the most consistent line play that we’ve seen in Josh Allen’s career and so any shift to it is going to be super unsettling for me uh and that’s that’s where I’m at with specifically with this interior exact same uh if I had it on a fivepoint scale I’d have it as a two um I don’t think it’s a solid three I think it’s a two because there is uncertainty David Edwards has not been a starter the last two years I think he’s a very high-end backup and I think he’s a passable starter um van pran maybe can earn a starting job but he went in the fifth round like I don’t think he’s like some sure thing it’s not a it’s not certain that he’s ever a starter in the NFL I think he has that potential if you start for three seasons in the SEC you could start in the NFL I think that’s a legit thing especially interior offensive line against who he was going with let alone in games but in practice every day the defensive tackles for Georgia are insane every single year um so I like that uh I TR Aaron Cromer I say it all the time he’s forgotten more about offensive line play than I’m ever going to know if he thinks Conor McGovern can be a center then he can like it’s okay all right if garon Cromer says he can then okay um but I agree I think it’s can win with but holding on barely um if we see a really nice season from these guys I’m GNA feel good because there’s some youth here locked in um part of me selfishly wants van pran to win the starting jab because now you’re talking five plus years of McGovern and Van pran Torrance just being the core of this offensive line look for you know looking forward so we’ll see where that one goes but uh I agree I have it as a two but I have it as can win with yep yeah I’m right there I’ll lead off the other group um offensive tackle I have the opposite end of it I still have it as canwin with but I have it as a solid for like I think that it’s I think Dion Dawkins deserve the contract he got I think he had his best season of his career last year Spencer Brown obviously had the best year of his career because he had struggled previous to that but you and I had him as you know easily one of our biggest question marks going into the season with middle linebacker and he was good he wasn’t great he wasn’t phenomenal but he was good and in the NFL offensive line is a weak link position and if you don’t have a weak link and you are everybody is good or better you can work with that and when you add in have the mobility of a quarterback like Josh Allen it really really works so not only do we do that but last year I was pretty anxious having a Ryan vandemar or an Alec Anderson or a maybe at one point Tommy Doyle as your backup plan well now you added Lyall Collins who we’ve seen start for like five years at right tackle and be really like actually at one point a very special talent with the Cowboys um I don’t know how much of that he has left but if we just need him as a break glass in case of emergency and on top of that the fact that we now lose nothing losing the David Edwards like you know number 76 is declaring eligible well when you know it’s like jumbo sets and running the ball down their throat give me Lyall Collins next to Spencer Brown in mowing those guys down now Osiris torren Spencer Brown ly Collins I don’t we can point to the right side make hey we’re running over there come and try to stop us those three are road graders going forward so um that Run game those jumbo sets all those different pieces I feel pretty I feel the best about the tackle group that I have in Josh Allen’s career I’m not ready for a five but I actually think it’s at the higher end of Ken windw yeah it’s crazy and I think that we should take some of how we were talking last off season with into and take that as a learning experience and a lesson into this offseason when we’re talking about stuff like the wide receiver room when we’re talking about some of these things that maybe weren unsure of right because I was like panicking about Spen Brown you’re saying Justin shorter is Terell Bernard that’s what you’re saying yeah yeah yeah for sure um and uh anyways uh but I was I was I was in total panic that we didn’t address tackle well enough in the draft or even anything to push that position going into training camp and I would I I was like basically saying like Brandon Bean was doing a disservice to his job by not doing this and then Spencer Brown was fine like he he wasn’t great to your point he was fine I’m a little I’m interested to see if he can maintain that for two years in a row and that he can stay healthy and be a guy that can be a fine tackle two years in a row that’s interesting to me I feel a little better not great with Collins maybe in a pinch uh a game or two if he had to but I I don’t want him to ever have the chance to become longterm at the position that’d be real concerning Dion Dawkins is a tough one for me too because I love him I love his personality I do think he’s earned the contract I’ve said a bunch of times throughout the years I think he’s a top 10 tackle in the NFL and but I’m not sure I I think he think he might be 10th if he’s top 10 yeah like he’s right at the end there and he might be 12th he might be in ear early teens right like um so he’s right there so yeah I have this as a win with and I like the way it’s trending as a group I think Deon Dawkins is getting better I think he had a very good season finally having some stability next to him and I think uh Osiris Torrance uh being stable next to Spencer Brown I think if those can two can continue to Trend uh I think this group can Trend into something maybe special even if they can stay healthy and Trend in the right direction and keep going so chromer has done a great job getting that established uh and I I’d like to see how that continues to grow yeah and I will say um offensive line is a position that ages reasonably well especially when you’re a guy who has been very very healthy so although Dian Dawkins did just turn 30 he’s I’m I’m not even say it yeah just get them he’s never missed games in his entire career like he’s been healthy his whole career he’s literally missed like two games his whole career um so that’s a position where we can feel comfortable he’s got you know short of something catastrophic he’s got three or four good years left in him that happens all the time at tackle we’ve got guys playing to that age really hell the best tackle in the NFL is probably Trent Williams who I believe is like 36 now I thought he was I thought he was old like us quite as old as as we are but uh he’ll be 36 seems like he’s been playing forever yes great and he’s a monster um and he’s still probably the best tackle in the NFL at 36 um all right let’s flip to the other side here and uh lead off with our defensive tackles one we’ve seen some probably the most investment since that last show because at the last show in February we literally only had Ed Oliver he was the only tackle under under contract we brought back dayquon Jones we then added Austin Johnson who is by far the best one Tech backup we’ve had we added DeShawn Williams right before the draft and then we got Dwayne Carter a really nice third round pick um so a huge swing the other direction I now have this firmly as a uh can win with and it’s right there for can win because of be if I’ll say this if we see that early season version of dayquon Jones for an extended period of time where he was playing at an all pro level for those four games before he got hurt you can make a good argument that he and Ed Oliver are one of the better defensive tackle combos in the NFL and now we have better backups for them they could become a can win because of uh but right now I have them as as a firm can win with I have it as win because of yeah I think it’s totally fair yeah I just I love this group I’m assuming Jones has this fall off season and is back in good shape another position that ages well I think what he’s asked to do uh bringing him back was the best he was my priority of bringing back this off season and I even more so we we had to push him to a re to his highest career snap count last year part because he was playing awesome but the other part because we didn’t have another one Tech correct having Austin Johnson where now it can be like hey we only need you to play 50% of the snaps and you can play 100 miles an hour for 50% come off and then 30% Austin Johnson and then honestly Dwayne Carter comes in when it’s obvious passing Downs cuz we also didn’t have a great three Tech to put we were constantly injuries with edto healthy is Jordan Phillips healthy is you know who’s ready to do these things yeah I feel a lot more comfortable that now hey Dwayne Carter can come in and do those things that pass and Jordan Phillips was like a um he was like a trying to fit a square and a round hole a little bit and like he wasn’t really a three Tech he’s got the body looked like a one Tech he played like a three Tech but sometimes when you’re look when you’re half of both you’re neither yeah it just and he had some production he still played well but I think that this is a more well-rounded room when it’s super high end on the heavy side on the top end here and I think Ed Oliver is your star I think he’s one of going to be the next Rising Star he doesn’t necessarily get all the national media recognition and it doesn’t always translate if it doesn’t translate into double digit saxs it’s hard to get that National media recognition unfortunately he had nine and a half but he was fourth in the NFL of all defens tack in total pressures and when I say fourth you’re talking it was um Aaron Donald Chris Jones Justin matab Ed Oliver yeah like that is the highest you know class of Dexter Lawrence had an amazing season Ed Oliver had more Christian Wilkins had a season where he got paid a hundred million dollar Ed Oliver had more yeah um he was an elite defensive tackle last year and nine and a half sacks is still awesome yeah I think he’s only growing in his game and in his maturity I expect like he’s going to hit that ceiling uh this is another great example of waiting before you claim a draft guys a boss like because I remember two years ago everybody was out on at Oliver he’s really hitting his potential he’s hitting that ceiling and get it pushing to be one of the best at his position in the league and earning in in the Reps we saw it like he also had some of the biggest high per of stamps like that’s no joke and I think that um getting Carter is going to allow him to play a little bit less and get some of that energy and save it for later in the season I think that he ran into a bit of a wall as we saw the defensive line not play that well into the playoffs I think they’re going to manage that a little bit better but I think Ed Oliver is going to be a star I think that he hopefully will get some of the recognition that follows the Havoc that he creates in the middle of this defense so yeah for me I’m I’m very excited on this group and it’s definitely a win because because of me and that trickles into something else later here I like it I like it um so at defensive end I’ll let you lead off this one we saw additions uh at the time we had Gregory rouso and Von Miller they brought back AJ panessa we obviously yeah Leonard Floyd walked um I assumed we were gonna lose AJ panessa uh we lost sha Lawson um we do still have Kings of Jonathan Cameron Klein but we brought in Casey twohill we brought we drafted Javon Solomon and we sneaky just this week added Dwayne smoo who previous last year he was coming back from an Achilles injury the end of the 2022 season week 16 he tore his Achilles he was working his way back from that last year he even started on pup so last year was not a good representation but the previous Four Seasons he had five and a half plus sacks every year five and a half or six sacks every year for four straight years he’s like a younger career version of sha Lawson a good run Defender but a legit pass rusher who can chip in and be able to play and that the $2 and a half million I signed him for is an interesting ad yeah he was probably my most excited when they announced that three was Claypool Dion Jones and everybody talked about Chase Claypool and Dion J the player who actually mattered was the one that most people didn’t know the name of was Dwayne smooth probably the most exciting of those but um I do I have this group as a needs better it’s right on the cusp that you can win with a lot of it’s going to depend on where we get Von Miller and what Von Miller returns and Miller do we get I’ve been an advocate that he that we were we really needed to pump the brakes on the expectations for Von Miller last year I think that I don’t know that the bills Managed IT great I think there was a bit of V pushing to come back and what how they managed that and putting him on the field when he wasn’t doing a whole lot it felt really bad and it created some bad optics for Von everybody was like all right I’m out on this guy he gets paid too much to be there he’s not doing anything but I do think when he finally did get back in those playoff games I encourage everyone to kind of go back yes they didn’t result into sacks and stuff but he he got some of that bend back he got some of that spark back and we don’t need Von Miller to be the weeks whatever one through six uh when we first got him and he was playing at alltime levels typical Von Miller vas City with Game ending sex yeah 75% of Von Miller and a part of a rotation would be real great for this team but this is a group of guys right now I like Greg rouso a lot but he’s not a game wrecker these are just a nice rotation of some guys and some of them can get to the quarterback sometime and they’re all pretty good run Defenders but they don’t have that guy and I think that’s what you need in the NFL is to have a guy you got an net Olivero and you got into dquan Jones in terms of pressures but somebody on this Edge needs to step up and until they do I think it needs to be better until we somebody proves that they can be somebody that can be reliable in getting to the passer I I think that’s about right I might have them as a two just because I think the floor is reasonably high so I’ll go with can win with um and also I think we’ve added so much that now I don’t think an addition here I think that H we’ve got eight guys who could make an NFL roster here because Kingsley Jonathan and Cameron Klein are guys who have been claimed not even could be they both have been claimed by other teams to put them on the 53 man roster Casey twohill now has a very uphill climb after adding Dwayne smoo and drafting Javon Solomon Casey two Hill is very likely going to be our practice squad veteran guy um and he had five sacks last year like that that’s not nothing like five sacks is a legitimate number in the NFL um so that top group epinesa vanon Miller Gregor Russo Dwayne smoo and Javon Solomon fifth round picks make teams fifth round picks make rosters and he was my favorite value of the guys in the draft he is built in the Von Miller frame of things you know you’re talking six foot and change 248 pounds you’re talking like a you know not as bendy and as uh tall as Von but crazy long arms more of a like if if he hits you’re talking about more like an Elvis dille type of guy like a small thick whirling dervish guy with long arms that can do things um so I think the guys we have are here we’re gonna see which four I I think it’s probably five um DeShaun Williams is also a guy who depending on what you could debate him in either position group and I know um I think he’s on the outside looking in but I’ll tell you Joe Marino thinks he’s going to make the roster and is a big fan of DeShaun Williams and I obviously respect um Joe’s you know uh opinion of players y so I think that between those five defensive uh tackles and honestly I’ll even take off Cameron kleim and Jonathan King Kings of Jonathan six more defensive ends that’s 11 guys who are like NFL roster caliber and Klein and K Jonathan have a pretty good claim at it we have 13 guys on the defensive line who could make an NFL roster this year that’s a great problem deal with I don’t you know you could debate the high end of it what version of Volo do we get Ed Oliver and Daquon Jones leading that group maybe we see a big step forward in year four from Greg rouso like we did in year four from ad Oliver maybe that’s what we see um but I I agree because we don’t have the higher end game wer guy at D end I think that can win with is probably at the the the best they can get and needs better I want just want to clarify for folks needs better can come from within right like has an ad Oliver year four breakout that is the better that we need correct yeah yeah this doesn’t mean that I need the bills to go work the trade and try to bring in somebody else I think they have enough guys at the tier point I love the depth I think they have a nice rotation and we know that they want to run it in rotation but one of these guys has to just be somebody that you can rely on in third Downs to get the pressure and get Patrick Mahomes to the ground specifically um so the next group is if defensive tackle isn’t the best position group group on the team it would be this one on the defense uh linebacker you know so we obviously already had Matt Milano TR Bernard this was uh we had Dorian Williams as a third round pick from last year this was the position we probably needed the least investment we still got a nice athletic guy in uh eduan Osio we added uh Nicholas Morrow we added uh Deon Jones both of those guys are like three or four years after I made a claim of really wanted him but we finally got my guy like we always say never wrong only early that’s right um I wanted both those guys we got them like three or four years after I wanted them but we got them we got Nicholas Maro and Dion Jones uh Balon Spectre is still kicking around um I’m curious with the new kickoff rules do we maybe keep a few more linebackers if we’re getting you’re seeing the league get more physical and the bills getting more physical do we keep a couple more linebackers I do think we especially what we saw with AJ Klein last year um I do think we keep six instead of five uh I’m not sure exactly where it come which group it comes off of um but I have linebackers as a firm can win with and I think you can make a case that you can win because of them yeah I I’m gonna make the case right now I have them as a win because of and part of it is because what I talked about in defensive tackle I think those two maybe more so than any two position groups play off of each other in terms of if you have really good tackle play in front of linebackers and can keep these guys clean we’ve seen it with mat Milano you keep mat Milano clean he’s going to destroy and wreck game sneakiest one there those guys are exstatic about Austin Johnson because before they felt it when dayon Jones came off the field yeah now always having a legit One tech in front of them they are going absolutely yeah and um it’s something the national media is not talking enough about when they talk about this Bills going into 2024 is the season that Terrell Bernard at like again the conversation we were having this time last year was like oh my God what are we going to do in the middle of the field like middle linebacker such a hole and to this conversation maybe it’s about wide receiver maybe it’s the one I’m having here about n uh and Edge players is just because we don’t know who the next star is going to be in the developmental system like we liked TR Bernard and we were hoping to get a look at him and then he had that camp injury and I thought he was going to be the starter I was worried about him being the starter yeah yeah yeah yeah and uh and I was intrigued right like maybe he can have a year and develop but he like came on and was the perfect pair if to exactly what you want next to Matt Milano right especially if you keep him clean so I’m projecting the high end of this I don’t think Matt Milano’s injury was one a broken bone isn’t a torn ACL or an Achilles or anything like that this is something he should be able to recover from as soon as he gets all that muscle back which he has at mini camp doing the workouts already there doing the workouts people leaping I had people ask oh we signed Dion Jones does that mean Matt Mila is not going to start the season it better not yeah one what Matt Milano’s going to start the season he’s going to play in training camp Dean Jones has nothing to do with that if Matt Milano isn’t going to start the season it’s not okay because we signed Dion Jones all right yeah no no and the depth at this position is good so that puts into win because of for me but yeah NOP I will take Deon Jones over ajin correct yeah I’ll take all these guys this whole list of dudes um yeah B Spectre if he can stay healthy I’d love to get him on the field instead of an AJ Klein uh Dorian Williams even though I was hard on him last year and I know there like a a weird Hive of like just play this guy even if he doesn’t know what he’s doing out there I expect him to settle in a little bit more and know what he’s doing this year and get his hand on the Playbook and slow down some of that processing so but on the high end of this assuming Matt Milano and Terrell Bernard are your linebackers day one and starting it’s one of the best linebacking units in terms of like what you want from Modern football especially behind the line that’s going to keep them clean so this is big time for me win because of both those groups 100% 100% love it uh how about for cornerback we have Christian Benford rul Douglas Taran Johnson with his new extension Kyer Elum probably the least added to position and I know our guy Avid listener Chris jankee uh is the number one Jamarcus Ingram Advocate out there um what are your thoughts on quarterback I have it as a winwith and I think it’s solid we’ve kind of been like oh it’s on the corner of or this or that I think this is a solid winwith group The vers Douglas trade was so beautiful what a good piece of work by Brandon Bean uh in season to pull that one off uh Christian Benford uh I saw a tweet out this year that really peed me off but from one of the I don’t know if it was PFF it was some of them talking about that cornerback class and and talking and people were like oh you know Kyrie elim wasn’t on the list but they had all these lists of like top corners from that draft class and they left out Christian Benford which I think he’s actually one of the he’s the top five from that class like he has played really well at the cornerback position started for a very good team um I think he’s solid I think he’s only getting better uh rul Douglas I don’t expect I think there’s a lot of concern that he’s going to hit this age wall I think the way he plays I’m not super concerned about that is not like a crazy turn and run lock down man guy any he’s incredibly smart and jumps routes and he’ll continue to do that for at least another year or two like at some point maybe that that his his stick of the foot in the ground and burst sure maybe he’ll lose that at some point I don’t think that happens right now I’ve seen no indication um from his play last year that I would expect that to happen and I’m really interested to see with Butler gone uh does Kyer elim with a a new defensive backs coach that wants to play more to the style Kyer elim was drafted to play how does that impact him I’m not out on Kyer elim I’ve said that all along like I don’t there’s definitely parts of his play that I don’t love but I’m not out on him and obviously everybody I don’t if I start talking about Taran Johnson we’ll go way over an hour here so I’m not going to go crazy about Taran but I I mean he’s one of the best nichels in the league so uh it’s a firm position group and you’re bringing back continuity which is huge in the defensive back field exact same and honestly I’m beyond doubting secondary play with this coaching staff and this team they ability to judge talent especially low investment cost Talent of late round picks low free free agent dollar spending they’re so exceptionally good at picking out what works in their system that I’m beyond doubting that so uh I have it as can win with I don’t think it’s a win because of I think that we I don’t know that we have a high-end lockdown guy but I think we’re good across the board and maybe KY elim rediscovers what he had before and we see more from him uh the safety group I’m still can win with I think you can make a case that maybe we still need better I think that we have uh Cole Bishop is like the hope that we get more than that I think that Taylor rap Mike Edwards are guys who are both they’re best play was as the third safety for a good secondary and now we need one of them if not both of them to start until Cole Bishop is ready um cam Lewis I think is a roster caliber guy but not a guy you want out there playing Demar Hamlin I think is a roster caliber guy but not a guy you want out there playing um so I’m gonna I’d have it as a two out of five but again this team has shown a great eye for defensive backs specifically safeties and they thought they needed to trade up to go get coold Bishop so maybe he by himself is the needs better rocket ship of what this could be getting that kind of highend talent I still have it as a can win with uh but if I’m being honest it would probably be a two out of five um right there maybe two and a half out of five like the for me the best case scenario in my brain at least when not knowing the NFL production would be a Mike Edwards Cole Bishop um safety tandem I I think mik Milano yeah I think Edwards well no I’m saying um those be oh you want them to start in rap is the third safety and rap is the third sa I’m not high on Taylor rap I’m really not I I don’t I think he one thing that really bothers me about the way he plays is the friendly fire that gets received when he he’s so reckless he does Rocket people a couple times um and I don’t like that type like I like the way Taran plays Reckless with himself and like not concerned about hurting himself Taylor rap is like not concerned about anything and that’s not great and that gets him in trouble too in terms of pass interference and calls after the play and he gets a I don’t know he he’s not great in coverage I don’t think he’s a necessarily Big Time cerebral player which I think you need in this defense to me Mike Edwards is a perfect fit I don’t think he’s the best athlete in the world I don’t think he’s the best safety in the world but he’s the kind of guy that I think with this defense and Sean mcder they can get the most out of his skill set and I’ve thought that since he was a draft prospect Cole Bishop the definition of can win with as a guy with two Super Bowl rings because obviously you can win with him yeah yeah he’s not going to be a major liability for you and if if Cole Bishop I don’t know if he can I really I had him uh very high on our power rankings he was my number one uh in the power rankings of draft picks I I his sealing I don’t know where it is especially with sha mcder especially with this defense we saw how excited Brandon Bean was to get his hands on this pick even talking about potentially trying to trade up for him because not sure if he was going to fall they had him locked in had their eyes on him Bobby babish must have wanted him too that makes me think they see out a role for him early on and if that’s the case I’m interested to see that and so there’s a lot of potential here um but you know if it is Taylor rap and Mike Edwards and bishop’s taking a little bit of time to get going I like Demar Hamlin uh too but so I think the room as a whole fits this bill’s defense you have some good depth um but if it’s if it’s rap and Edwards that feels like such a drop off from puyer and high that that feels a little bit needs better to me like somebody’s got to step up in this role uh and I think Cole Bishop will be that guy to do it but until I see that to me it’s right on the cusp of needs better but I’ll give it a win with maybe 2.5 I like it I like it um I’m not gonna pick it because I’m gonna go another Direction but this would be second on my list of hey it’s Trey white money time where would you like to see them make a move you can make a pretty good case that safe would be the most impactful upgrade um so I know Marcus here is mentioned it Justin Simmons is still out there um from the available guys Justin Simmons is better than any of the hey big spoiler alert here I’m gonna pick wide receiver Justin Simmons is a better safety than any of the wide receivers that are available to add so if you talk about the degree to which a player that’s available would upgrade the starting situation um you know you could probably add a guard but is there somebody who’s actually better than David Edwards who’s available now um you know there’s some available defensive ends that are out there but are they actually gonna come like the guys who are available are they actually better than what we are G to get from Von Miller or what’s out there right um so again I’m not picking safety but Marcus’s question here you can make a pretty good case that like maybe you should put that money into Justin Sim because then all of a sudden you feel awesome on the timeline for Cole Bishop it’s Cole bishop and or Mike Edwards alongside Justin Simmons Taylor rap is only a third safety dime linebacker guy like Jordan puyer was and now Demar Hamin does even can just be a practice squad guy off of there um so again I don’t I don’t think that’s where they’re going to spend the money I think they think they can get production out of this group um with the money that they’ve spent they tlor you can make a case you can make a case the bills seem like they seem much higher on Taylor rap than I am and uh Ron Beck in here says funny Joe Morino loves Taylor rap too I love Joe Marino um I don’t agree with him all the time um and I don’t agree with Brandon beaten all the time but they seem to really like Taylor rap so they see something uh and I to your point I do trust even when I don’t love a player I do trust their ability to see what they need for a defense especially in the defensive back defensive back especially defensive back okay so uh I’ll you know I already said mine not a a free agent because I don’t know that there’s any free agents I really care about at wide receiver my wish list would be Justin Jefferson trade do itend obviously Justin Jefferson um it’s a Tyler Lockett um courland Sutton uh one of the guys from Tennessee now that they’ve added Tyler Boyd and uh Kelvin Ridley um go get me a starting outside receiver doesn’t have to be special I don’t need special um Terry mcen would qualify as special um but you know if we had Courtland suon all of a sudden I feel way better about everything because now he soaks up all of the outside ones Ron even saying here Z Jones like I I don’t know that Z Jones is I I don’t being play kind of takes that I don’t know if Z Jones is better than M Hollins like yeah Mac hoens is probably as good as Z Jones and play special teams I would have taken Z Jones prior to chase clay poool it’s just like hey come compete for wide receiver like they’re the same guy like Chase Claypool Z Jones Quint cus they’re the same person um T Higgins we train I want better than that I want better than that I want if we make a move I would want it to be courland Sutton type of guy I would want it to be like hey this guy comes in and immediately is our starting next receiver we feel really really good about um we can go in and do those things Chris Chow like I’m fine if we take a flyer on trayon Burks uh for a day three pick but I also think he’s not terribly different than quintess cus Chase clayo or Justin shorter you’re talking about like big physical guys who aren’t freakishly fast and we’re hoping one of them pans out into something um so you know their safety and numbers maybe one of those guys can work out but I’m not really planning on much I’d love if they made a small trade for a veteran receiver from a rebuilding team which is why I keep saying courland Sutton because you know from a team like Denver where we just don’t expect a lot go get a a player from a team like that that can come in and be a good veteran in the room and really in my mind raise the floor from that fourth receiver spot like right now I feel like we have three guys who I feel good about and then a huge drop off of guys that I don’t even know for sure are roster caliber you know m hoens is roster caliber because it’s special teams Captain not because they’re receiver there is’t anybody else that I care whether they make the team or not I don’t want to feel that way give me one more so I feel better about that group yeah if I like both Sutton and lockit I almost like Lockett a little more like give them a chance to come win a ring cour suton 13 million and uh uh Tyler Lockett 4.6 million yeah and Lockett feels like a process guy like he’d come right in and be a locker room guy kind of guy you want Cole Coleman around Shakir around learn from also a different skill set like there’s a there’s maybe a little overlap with courin Sutton and Keon Keon Coleman yeah it’s different it’s a different skill set with h Tyler Lockett yeah and Lockett played with Russ at his Peak which people don’t love Russell Wilson anymore but the way he played at his Peak deep balls taking deep shots he’s able to track well like that feels a little more intriguing to me but I like both um but I would love Brandon Bean to get a little crazy here and pull some levers and do something crazy and I don’t know go after one of the big guys you know get the fan base excited you got a stadium and psls to sell let’s get us excited sell some jerseys you know I like it I like it all right this is why I’m not GM Greg I’m so irresponsible with spending irresponsible spending you you are a lot more uh financially prudent in your personal life than you are with the with Terry pula’s money uh honestly I’m like super conservative with bills asset acquisition and stuff like that but like right now I feel I like I feel like a Stefon digs type trade if you’re gonna do something like I don’t want to just add to this room it’s a room that needs something go get what it needs yeah I mean if you all of a sudden insert somebody made the comment earlier I apologize it’s a uh I don’t remember who it was this is a group where if you did all of a sudden insert a like let’s not do Justin Jefferson because of course Justin Jefferson makes everyone ridiculous but let’s say it was czy where I don’t know for whatever reason Washington yeah Brandon or Washington actually did make Terry McClaren available sure um and you insert that all of a sudden I it’s like oh hey this is a thing like this is real this is actually we got something happening here um now all of a sudden you’d feel a lot better about it so I I don’t expect that to happen I don’t sells tickets Terry I’m just saying yeah hey um I I guess guess Cliff brought it up here you know I I guess T Higgins is not like if all of a sudden maybe that’s what we want compared the whole time just put one on each side and just have the two of them go out there I don’t know I don’t know if I love that because I feel like Coleman answers like I would have been on if they ended up with Xavier worthy and they that was who they drafted and then you put Higgins with him then yeah but I don’t I don’t I think having one Keon Coleman type is okay I don’t think the NFL’s trending towards two of those guys maybe let’s go get let’s it we’re on the same page let’s go get Tyler Lockett I think that’s a out of all the reasonable examples that’s the one to go get or save save him and have him come there’s something weird with the way that the Titans have gone out and added so many other receivers maybe DeAndre Hopkins is actually available like I it’s I’m ready to get back on dehop watch I’ll do their whole setup is weird I don’t know I’m ready to be hurt again dude life of a no doubt about it I’m ready to get hurt again no doubt all right guys um so tonight we we did our recap starting next week we will start to breakdown week by week our position previews we will go through everybody on the roster their salary cap situation future contract situation uh guys you know we’ll make our predictions of who’s going to make the roster and who’s uh fighting for a bubble spot or maybe a cut down day trade candidate um in years past that has actually been kind of boring um last year was maybe the most predictable uh spot of anybody on the roster here and this year we have way more competition the defensive line you can make a ton of arguments wide receiver we just went over you can make a ton of arguments there’s a lot in offensive line the the end of the linebacker um competition uh starting spots at safety like we have a lot of a lot more competition this year for where it is so these position preview groups are going to be really interesting and the biggest pitch I always give to people is if you have people in your family who have been kind of like casual fans but like they want to be able to talk more at family events or the water cooler at work or whatever it is this is the way to dive in and learn more about this team and really understand all the guys that are there so um that’s the biggest way you can help us out to be able to uh you know share more of what’s going on tell them now is the time to jump in and be able to help out and part of what they’re jumping in for is our new partnership with William matar Law Offices they’ve been awesome partners for us great sponsors of the show uh listen to the man himself here Bill he’s been awesome to work with he’s been fun to interact with on Twitter I’m looking forward to even maybe having him on the show uh but listen to what they can offer you uh in the community around Western New York if you’ve been in a car crash you should know this at William atar there’s no fee until we win that means you don’t pay us unless we win your case if you’re hurting a car call William matar 4444444 also we got to get him on for some we were talking about wings at the start of this I hear he’s a wing con of sore I’ve heard I’ve heard rumors and so maybe we need his opinion on I like it I like itene that’s a way to do it anything final for the people I do I got one final thing um I we didn’t talk about special teams and I had it all as needs better Tyler bass needs to be better punter whoever punter battle needs to be better re Ferguson’s totally fine Reed Ferguson doesn’t need to be better everybody else needs to be better yeah he needs to chill out on the raising that’s just fried chicken and crappy crinkle fries other than that uh he’s doing a great job he’s a fantastic long Stamper they’re just chicken tenders yeah yeah all right guys thank you very very much we appreciate you all uh this was great the chat was awesome tonight you guys were fantastic uh we’re going to be here for you all offseason long uh but on behalf of our fantastic producer Chris Kepner and Aaron Quinn I am Greg Thoms set you’ve been listening to cover one Buffalo and we are out

  1. Spencer Brown had surgery this off season. We have no info if that was his shoulder, knee, back, etc. Love the dude, but concerned about his health.
Too bad Ryan VanDermark or Richard Gouraige weren't RIGHT tackles. Both seem to be LT only guys. Lastly Tommy Doyle is hurt too much to keep him around, IMO.

  2. Trading down yielded not only Dewayne Carter, but also several pick swaps/moves up the board, which helped get players would we not have gotten otherwise. The draft went as well as I could have hoped. Got Coleman at a cheaper salary, plus Carter and move ups.

  3. Josh Allen… win because of but also will single-handedly give multiple games away each season.

Let’s not pretend that KC’s defense was so much better than Buffalo’s. The Bills defense surrendered an average of 18.3 points per game and KC surrendered 17.5. Less than 1 point against separated the two teams.

The 6 game winning streak that got Buffalo into the playoffs had the Bills defense hold 4 of those last 6 teams to 17 or fewer points.

  4. Shakir is the same size as Digs…is he really though?

No…. Shakier has 29 inch arms compared to Diggs at 31 1/4. Diggs’s wingspan is much larger than shakier’s…

Keep in mind, there’s never been an elite boundary WR or even a very good one… with sub 30 inch arms. That guy doesn’t exist.

That’s why shakier has been primarily lined up as a slot for the majority of his career.

  5. This team got real young in one your, and will get younger next year. This is the start of the second team with Josh Allen. We need to find a star to pair with Josh Allen and our defensive closer.

  6. Shout out la hacienda Brighton. Also 100% the best wings are all from little pizza places NOT sit down resturaunts

  7. Having the worst receivers in the nfl is just us following the chiefs model to success like they did last year lol
