from being born into a family of golfers to making his own name in the sports here’s the untold story of Bill hos let’s begin with where it all started and that’s being surrounded by amazing golfers growing up Bill was born in North Carolina on May 24th 1982 but he wasn’t just born into a normal old family leading a simple life in fact he comes from a well-known family of golfers many of you obviously already know he’s the son of the renowned Jay hos who used to be a professional golfer if you don’t you should know this dude has won on the PGA tour nine times in 2004 bill and his father won an unofficial PGA Tour event called the CVS care Mark Charity Classic his brother jayos Jr and his Uncle Jerry hos are also both former professional golfers who played in PGA Tours Bill grew up in the South Carolina town of Greer and he learned to play golf by watching his father play he was also always encouraged by his brother who’s a golf for too because of a lot of people in his family liked and were excited about golf he couldn’t stay away from it so he started playing golf when he was young and hey a father’s dream is for his son to continue doing the work he’s been doing his entire life right so his dad and other family members very enthusiastically taught Bill how to play as far as Bill’s overall education goes he went to the school close to his home and finished high school there as well but that’s the boring part the cool part is that he played golf for both his higho school and college teams later he went to Wake Forest University and joined the golf team there he then joined his father and Uncle as the third member of his family to play golf at Wake Forest University from here on out Bill’s career really does take off to a whole new level and of course like many professional players who grew up playing a sport it all started when Bill became well known after his successful college career all right back at 18 this one’s teed up for Bill hos not in a good way though look at this thing in the bsh had a lot of golf shots I never practiced one like this how about you Nota Raj this thing could go if it if it okay get ready because there’s a lot Bill hos ended up doing from here on out he was a first All-American three times an all ACC player four times and the ACC Player of the Year twice he was also the ACC Rookie of the Year in 2001 he’d won 10 college tournaments yeah I know insane and in his senior year he got the H Haskins award the Jack Nicholas award and the Ben Hogan award also after being successful he went into business himself in 2004 he played on the Nationwide tour before he made the official move of joining the PGA Tour hos finished his first year on the PGA tour as number 99 on the money list and made the cut in 19 of 30 tournaments this also included the wacovia championship where he finished fourth after missing the first 13 events of the 2007 season though hos fell to number 104 on the money list and stayed there through the 2008 season things could have stayed pretty dead from this point onwards but in 2009 bill made huge improvements to his game and finished at number 41 on the official world’s Golf Ranking list 61st on the money list and earned a total of $1.5 million that’s a lot of money and I know to a lot of us these must seem like numbers but let me tell you that’s a huge step up from his previous plays and this is also evident in the fact that bill hass’s total wealth grew a lot because of these things and the grind kept going he won his first PGA Tour Tournament at the 2010 Bob Hope classic in linaa California uh maybe a decent number uh just cuz right now the greens aren’t as hard as they can be um but if it the weather stays like they are on Sunday they’ll be like everybody rememb seeing on Sundays at the open they’ll be bouncing and rough’s going to be thick and uh par after this success he played in the Masters Tournament for the first time and finished 26th later that year he also won his second PGA Tour Tournament at the Viking classic in Jackson Mississippi Wayward drive hit an entire Bush out to the Fairway along with the golf ball and now has this to save par we break that much [Applause] just all of these things moved Bill hos up to the 20th Place on the list of the wealthiest people and made a huge difference in the total amount of money he made and when everyone thought it couldn’t get better he surprised Everyone by pushing himself even farther in the 2011 season he won the FedEx Cup and made a total of $1.4 million in prize money later that year he and Tiger Woods were both chosen as captains of the US team for the 2011 President’s Cup how feeling yeah feeling pretty good um you know the course demands accuracy off the tea and uh you know so far through two days I’ve I’ve been able to keep it in play and uh and when I didn’t I hit a hit one in the hazard yesterday and I even since then hos has won three more PGA Tour titles so at this point you’re probably wondering what kind of life does this insanely hardworking man lead does he even have time for girlfriends or even friends well the answer is yes in fact he’s actually married to a beautiful woman called Julie Taylor Arrington and yes before anyone asks they’re happily married to each other Julie was born in South Carolina on December 26th 1984 and it seems like her interests may be significantly different from Bill’s because in 2006 she got her bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of South Carolina and in 2007 she got her master’s degree from the College of Charleston so the question is how do two extremely different individuals with very different career paths meet well apparently they kind of met somewhere in their hometowns and started dating before this relationship there’s not really much of a record of of him being with anyone else the wedding took place at the farm in the old Edwards Inn in Highlands on June 11th 2011 on May 13th 2013 this loving couple had their first child an adorable boy named William hos they then went on to have two more children Harrison and Nora while all of this seems like Bill may have found his happily ever after the road hasn’t always been easy for him and he’s had to deal with a lot there’s one incident attached to his name which many of you may still remember and it’s the car crash he was in back in 2018 this Ferrari driven by his friend Mark jbello they had to be uh they had to rip the top off the car to get to them jbella was killed hos was not seriously injured no broken bones he was in town to play in The Genesis open at Riverside hos had an accident in Los Angeles before the Genesis open he was taken to the hospital but didn’t have any serious injuries so safe to say he got pretty lucky but sadly accident ended up killing ing the driver of the Ferrari he was in and it hurt the driver of another vehicle a spokesperson for the LAPD at the time said that the crash happened around 6:30 p.m. local time on Tuesday in the Pacific Palisades neighborhood Luke Wilson was driving a third car that was hit by the Ferrari the reason why this incident also blew up was that Wilson was involved if you don’t already know Wilson is actually a pretty famous actor who is starred in movies like Legally Blonde and the Royal tannin bombs the driver of the Ferrari who who died at the scene was a member of the family with whom hos was staying apparently bill was there because he was getting ready to play that week in the genus’s open at the nearby Riviera Country Club so even if Bill didn’t end up suffering many injuries you can imagine how shaken up he might have been because of this incident he obviously ended up dropping out of the Genesis open and went home to Greenville to get better he was thankful for the support of his friends family and the Golf Community as a whole during that time but the thing that’s still talked about today when it comes to this incident is how badly the media and news reporters handled everything that’s it for the untold story of Bill hos see you in the next one
