This is an awesome stat. I really hope it gets posted 50 more times this week and 100 more next time there’s a new world number 1.

If people keep going to LIV, he might last 30 more years. Spieth is a headcase and it turns out, Justin Thomas might be as well.

Yes, I think Scottie is better than Bryson

Yes, I think Scottie is better than Cam Smith

Yes, I think Scottie is better than Dustin Johnson

Yes, I think Scottie is better than Jon Rahm

But, you keep adding these guys over and over to LIV, there has to be an asterisks

    Loool

No one touching tiger that’s for sure. And I love Scottie

Tiger could win when he didn’t have a swing and was playing bad (by his standards). I don’t think we can say the same about any other pro golfer. He would get top 5s, top 10s, etc. driving like an amateur (in turns of accuracy).

His will to win and give it his all on every shot is just different from any other pro (and probably human being).

Scottie is playing insane golf and is on a heater. We saw the same from Rory when he was hot. Brooks, etc. But no one else (at least not that I have seen) can contend and possibly even win without their A game other than Tiger.

    That record is safe.

Enjoy what Scottie is doing without automatically comparing to Tiger.

The conclusion is completely wrong. Tiger’s record for consecutive weeks at #1 is 281. Scottie needs to hold on to the top spot for another 196 weeks to match Tiger, not another 11 years. Tiger spent a total of 683 weeks at # 1 throughout his career. Scottie does not need to hold on to the top spot consecutively to break that record. Both of those records are insane and Scottie won’t break either but the conclusion should be more genuine.

OP, you’re lying. 2035 is like 30 years away. Stop being a silly goose.

    Remind me! 11 years.

Me in 11 years: “Oh yeah the Scottie Shuffle, I remember that guy!”

who the hell is Tiger Woods? is that the guy who likes pancakes?

  9. dcwhite98

Why though? Tiger was great, had a hell of a run. Hell of a collapse too. But if golf, the PGA, PGA tournament announcers, etc. don’t start to pay more attention to the current and future players and less to Tiger, whose days are past, that’s not good for golf.

Lol yeah let that stat sink in omg

  11. HeuristicEnigma

Scheffler really also needs to goto Dennys to catch up with Tigers record…

We going to get this post every week now?

  13. Whoknew1992

For Golf media there’s a new hero every night of a major. And a new hero every time someone has a hot year. It’s how they make their money. Tigers mountain won’t be scaled anytime soon.

  14. drunkmunky88

Don’t post it then. Be the change you want to see in the world.

  15. Even_Section5620

That could be a record never broken…

I genuinely think Scottie will come close to that. His consistency over the last two years or so is fucking ridiculous and for all the talented players on the PGA Tour, he’s ahead of them all.

In the 2023 season he had 25 starts and was top-five in 15 of them with three wins, this season he’s had 10 starts and been top-five in seven with four wins.

He’s so far ahead of Rory in OWGR that it’s almost unfathomable.

  17. Bradcam3

Scottie in all likelihood will not surpass Tiger at all, but it genuinely wouldn’t surprise me if he becomes a top ten player ever. His game just seems so consistent, if he keeps putting this well he’ll keep winning consistently for years.
