well I can tell you that I do believe there is something in this I’ve been ringing around senior figures within Formula 1 people who I know are close to Adrian yui to see if they can stand up the claims first made in the German media that he is set to leave the team that he has given them notice of his intention to leave certainly multiple senior figures I’ve spoken to have expressed to me that yes there is discontentment with Adrien yui and that he is certainly considering bringing his time at Red Bull to an end but what I can also say is that I have been in in in touch via official Channels with the red bull Team themselves and they have explained to me that they are unaware of any official communication from Adrien yui notifying of his intention to to serve notice and to to leave Red Bull Racing with whom he has had a a an association uh for pretty much almost the last 20 years um and what I can also say about his contractual situation is that he has contracted at Red Bull Racing until the end of 2025 and as I understand it would have to serve another year of gardening leave where Red Bull to holds him to the full extent of his contract which would mean he would not be able to work work for another Formula 1 team until 2027 Red Bull are also unaware as I understand it of of any formal approach from another Formula 1 team to Adrian yui and and the the one or two individuals I’ve spoken to close to Nei have expressed to me that if he is seriously considering leaving he has not made up his mind what future Direction his career should take he has expressed a desire to work with the likes of of Fernando Alonzo and we know certainly that Aston Martin would be very interested in signing him he’s also spoking spoken about his regret that he has never worked with Lewis Hamilton and Ferrari for for two decades have been pursuing Adrien Nei and with Lewis Hamilton going there uh certainly Lewis Hamilton fans were very keen on the idea that perhaps Nei would follow him there that together uh they would be able to to to bring championships back to Ferrari and Lewis would get that eighth World Championship but to be quite clear at the moment Red Bull uh the official channels there and and it is awkward to try and get a statement from them because Christian hoer has been on an aircraft today he’s been flying back from the the Formula 1 commission meeting in Geneva so he is just Landing now and I will try and get some kind of of comment from him if I can they are saying that there there has been no formal communication as yet from Adrian neui notifying the team that he intends to leave now I have been reporting for the last few months that the relationship the key relationship at Red Bull between Nei and Christian Herer has cooled there has been more of a distance between them over these last months than there has been previously and that has had to do with some of the friction going on behind the scenes at Red Bull that proed power struggle there and and also with the the fact that that that Nei on occasion given certain comments that have been made has had his his role within the team and his influence on designing these Championship winning cars perhaps rather undervalued uh with with some of the comments that have come out from Red Bull uh so we’ll have to watch this space but yes multiple senior figures from within Formula One telling me that that Adrian yui is seriously considering leaving Red Bull Racing but but let’s see how this develops yeah I I want to see how it develops for sure and and we’re not in the business of speculation but and I want to get this clear is this to do with the Christian Horna Scandal do you feel that this resignation might be as a result of what’s happened I think perhaps more to do with the the the power struggle which has been the background to the the Christian horer situation we have to call it remember the accusations against him by a female member of staff were dismissed by Red Bull’s independent investigation the appeal is is currently ongoing at the moment but the background to that has been something of a power struggle which emerged after Dietrich maitz died he was the billionaire 49% owner of Red Bull and very much the Hands-On figure head dictating Formula 1 policy and when he was no longer there there was this friction which grew between Red Bull Racing and its headquarters in Milton Kings which Christian herner has headed and has built up over the last two decades and the head office in Saltsburg which Oliver Minch is the the chief executive and essentially that is the individual to whom Christian Herer reports so there has been friction there it has been destabilizing we heard Jos F stappen Max fen’s father talking about how Christian Horn’s continued presence was pulling the team apart potentially I don’t think that was a the kind of environment which which Christian horer particularly relished working within so it will have it will have been a factor I think in in making him question to what extent his his future lies with the the team the other factor is that he is 65 years of age now uh for many years he has perhaps thought about the potential of working for Ferrari a little bit like Lewis Hamilton on the driving side if it’s not now then when so perhaps he is thinking now is the time to make one final move if he is to make it or it will be too late he is very much involved in the RB 17 hyper car project which Red Bull are undertaking and Red Bull and Christian hor have come up with a number of sidebar projects to almost indulge Adrien neui to to keep him happy to give him something to do alongside his formula one work but maybe he is asking himself the question given the turbulence at Red Bull given the fact that there is maybe one last opportunity to go and work somewhere else perhaps now is the time that’s what multiple people are are explaining to me that that Adrien yui is potentially serious about leaving but as I say to you having spoken to to senior individuals within Red Bull Racing this evening they are saying they have received no formal notification that he intends to leave and have advised me of his contractual situation which is as I say that he has contracted until the end of next year with an additional year of gardening leave to serve so it would not be easy for him to jump ship and and make an impact in another team in the short term

  1. As Christian said , nobody is bigger than the team . And that should include Christian . Since the accusations against him , so many people have turned against him . Seems there might be some truth to them .

  2. Horner newey and max will all be at Aston Martin in 2026 they will follow the Honda powertrain and all the Honda mechanics that are currently based at redbull that will be at Aston Martin 2026

  3. Video summary: Adrian Newey continues to be a Red Bull employee and has not handed in his resignation. That's it.

  4. He is simply retiring, nothing more. And we will get to see how good RB can be without the best designer in F1

  5. I tend to agree with Horner… no one is bigger than the team… Newey is not a silver bullet and works with an entire team who all have added to the development of the Red Bulls over the years. The british always overhype their people like the are soley responsible for winning.

  6. all you do (the F1 skysports) is speculate and keep firing rumors and stirring the pot. bloody hell – how biased can you be?

  7. 1st time I’ve heard a news channel say they aren’t in the business of speculation @skynews !
Seems all do that to grow viewing figures

  8. By this time he gets to go to either Ferrari or AM both Fernando & LH will be too old to enjoy one of his designed cars..Gardening Leave etc 2027??

  9. Would be silly to comment on something no one knows anything about I don’t understand why f1 is like this maybe it’s cause they all have nothing to do with.. while max is winning with so much ease

  10. 🚨⚠️ Every single time this 🤡 opends his mouth lies are being told, this 🤡 only apears to spread BS to create controversy!! 🙄😮‍💨

  11. You guys should stop with all the BS to distract us from the fact that 2024 F1 will be a mirror or even more boring than 2023. Newwey and Max are not leaving Redbull for any reason. Stop the distraction and find a new way to keep the fans entertained. F1 sucks!

  12. Newey & Horner share the same PA.

The same PA who's appealed Horners actions,

If her appeal is upheld, which I think it will be given the circumstances & leaked messages,

That would make Newies position untenable and thus his gardening leave clause unenforceable.

Giving Newey and the PA a free pass to leave, with no admission of guilt/liability from Red Bull over the horner vs his PA.

  13. Maybe he wants to go and commentate with Crofty and all the others. Wow wouldn't we get some info then 😁👍🏻

  14. I think Newey wants a future in Ferrari but not only designer of Formula 1 cars, much more then that he wants to design Ferrari's new generation commercial cars too. So I belive one day Newey will join Ferrari its inevitable. Question is when?

  15. If he thought McLaren was disorganized in the early-mid 2000's he is in for a horrific surprise at Ferrari.
    Bizarre.

  16. So far this year…Christian Horner's been sacked, Max is leaving for Mercedes, and Adrian Newey now leaving RedBull. Can I have a job that pays a fortune with free global travel for coming up with an endless tissue of fantasy?

Can the Sky F1 team concentrate on facts, and relevant information? Rather than biased speculation, rumour and unfounded allegations.

And, can you please sort out the go-to-ad graphics which imply that Hamilton has actually won something in the last 3 years?

  17. He has had a huge yacht built . Was always leaving. In the documentary on the building of his Oyster boat. He clearly says his first trip will be 3 or 4 Countries … That's takes months and months

  18. No body really cares if where Newey goes or gets crashed by rock. Current Formula 1 season is boring and waste of time !

  19. Maclaren would love Adrian to help with the development of a road going NEOM McLaren Extreme E car whilst on gardening leave.

  20. Wouldn't be surprised if Ferrari give Adrian the chance of designing some form of a new super/hypercar. That way he still has the ability to do something other than just a new F1 car. Like he's doing with RB.

  21. ONCE AGAIN INDY CAR COVERAGE IS VASTLY BETTER THAN SKY F1 CAN MANAGE WHEN IT COMES TO F1

  23. He ain’t going to another team. He’s under a non compete. He has no choice but to quit for a few years or stay at Red Bull.

  24. Today, the Federal Trade Commission issued a final rule to promote competition by banning noncompetes nationwide, protecting the fundamental freedom of workers to change jobs, increasing innovation, and fostering new business formation.
