aren I know you’ve been so excited for this you’ve had a tailor made driver in the bag for quite some time and I’m Mega excited about this as well guys you can’t be a good fitting video so today what interested as well this is a generic fitting day you can get across the country here in the UK and I’m sure you can get it us-wide and anywhere else as well so um you work for Taylor Maid and that’s unless you want to hit a shape yeah I’ll probably say the the right hand side red flag yeah perfect do you want to see a shape on a good one my ideal shot is like a a one yard draw ideally with driver I’ll be honest I try and I don’t try and do too much I try and keep it as minimal as I can with the draw of the fade just cuz I feel more comfortable but yeah I do like it in that little one yard draw so I’d expect that it might not move today is that what you see through the rest of the buag yeah yeah yeah I just try and keep it consistent with everything y good ball my hat nearly came off we’ve had a little chat bit obviously I know you all Rob and I’ve seen you a lot of golf balls and we’ve had a little chat about kind of what your goals are yeah um you know not unhappy with what you’re playing now not a in driver a ton on the golf course at the minute no and I’ll be honest I didn’t I was too impatient to wait for you to come to get fitted so I just ordered this yeah and it’s not bad I love the club but I know the shaft’s probably not right for me the Loft and like it goes all right I feel like I can swing it okay but I know it’s not compared to my firew that you fitted me for yeah you feel confident with I feel so much more confident with that so I just wanted to get fitted for something that I know suits me so I don’t think we’re miles away with what you’ve got but no you’ve mentioned the flight can get like a little bit weak it yeah it balloons a lot of the time I feel like I lose I lose a lot of distance you know and the conditions that that obviously we’ve grown up playing in don’t exactly suit that kind of higher flly no they don’t no you know the numbers don’t look miles away I I don’t think we’re far off being you know what you might say like optimized for carry yeah and but yeah ultimately it’s about getting it around the golf course yeah it is yeah yeah compared to how I know I can hit the fivewood I feel like I’m getting the most out of my fivewood but not out of this swinging it good mate yeah it feels all right I just yeah I feel like I know I can get more out of a driver yeah for sure what what have you got a Miss at the minute on the golf course or and we know the shape you like to see on a good one what what’s the bad one look like right so I feel like my my bad one is when I just get a bit you know behind maybe and hands up in the air and right and then not not going miles right but it I feel like it spins a lot in the air and just yeah that that for me is the bad one we we’ve mentioned obviously the wi today but the majority of these are falling a little bit right so yeah yeah it would be nice to get you something where maybe the shape fits your eye a bit more kind of fits in with the rest of the bag as well I I don’t see any reason why we can’t get this but kind of the problems you’ve described I don’t think that the setup of that is exactly helping with that we’ve got you know you got plenty of Loft in there is that set to 10 a half at the minute no it’s set to the lowest possible one so I don’t know if that’s eight if I know what would it be it be 85 minus two yeah so that might be where a little bit of that issue with shapes coming from the face is sitting quite open because you use that lower Loft sleeve setting so I think the thing we’ve we’ve got to start in is just something a little bit more neutral yeah just get you in a in a 9 degree head but set that to 9° see what type of shape we get from there and then probably start to fit you from there so I’m not bothered about seeing any more with that I’ll I’ll take that off you it’s fine thank you so what kind of numbers we get in there Rob how do you feel that’s gone so far I think it’s all right I just I feel like with the the ball speed that I get a lot of the time and you know how I swing it in general whenever I use other people’s drivers I feel like I get more out of it like when I’ve used yours I feel like I’ve got more out of it compared to what I’ve got out of mine so I’m really interested to see what I could get perect I think we’re starting that so that is 9° Max set to 9 degrees start majority of my fit in Max yeah we know the story of the drive this year stability on off center strikes through that highest Moi number we’ve ever reached before so if I’d always start a fit in this and if I can’t beat it with one of the other heads then why would we want to play something less forgiving yeah this is definitely going to be a little bit easier to turn over it’s more upright on your own driver 9 degrees again set to 9 degrees you haven’t adjusted that face angle anymore so I think that’s a bad thing and then just started in a shaft that fits more in line with the fairway wood that you play okay we know works really well for you so it’s going to feel a little firmer than yours but it won’t feel unfamiliar CU you already like it in your Fairway would anyway real thank you start a new average it sits really nice one thing I couldn’t believe when I tested it cuz for how big it is it’s got no right to look as good as it looks has it no beautiful this has been like the most kind of pleasantly surprising product for me this year we do some Ambassador at the start of the year so a lot of the kind of guys around the area who play the product had a like surprising amount of success with this match it was really really good that take away a little better better yeah if you see a couple missing a little left to start with that wouldn’t scare me at all but to be honest that yeah might not felt like my best swing but that flight already it felt like my other one would have gone I don’t know if we’re looking at the clouds I feel like it’s gone kind of the first you know that middle layer of cloud I feel like my Al one would have gone top layer kind of just way up there I mean the the numbers you know tell the story you see on the golf course anything that you you spin right goes a long long way yeah so like the first ball you hit the day was 2887 total the last ball you hit with yours was 22.9 just cuz you spun both well all the ones in the middle you’re not breaking 280 because we’re spinning those shots at 3,000 3,100 3,000 and 2,800 so if we can get that spin closer to even just like 2500 and then maybe get the the flight a little bit lower just for it to suit your eye that would be amazing yeah what was that Rob I missed that one sorry I’ll be honest I never saw it but it felt good yeah they’re going a little left to Target it’s kind of what we expect to see the flight’s good just get the start line a little bit left yeah so I’m I’m not going to change anything yet I just want you to carry on kind of getting used to that and maybe trust that you can start that a little bit more neutral yeah if not even a little bit right to Target and you’re not going to see it fall off right yeah may be a little bit of instinct with your own is to try and start it on the left side of the course yeah it probably is yeah if you were if you had let’s say Fairway W or three in your hand now and you want to hit it at that right flag I felt like you would start it at it or a little right of it yeah so a bit more of a confidence way yeah well good swing that it felt really nice yeah it felt really nice if I’m being over picky the the flight’s still a little on the high side yeah and if we’re going to make a change today I feel like we’d rather if anything like the good one was a little bit on the flat side yeah and I could always ask you to hit it higher so let’s let’s start to make a bit of a change now you’ve ped that that was 13.3 LS 2700 2716 carry and and coming out at 286 total not5 yards off line which is great ball speeds a little bit up from where we started today but I still feel like we want to flatten that flat for a bit more so won’t waste any time I’ll make that change now thank you so I don’t see any reason we need to change head yet I’ve still got I’ve got another two degrees of Loft adjustment I can do in this head so probably go another one and a half lower for now to see how that comes out and we know this will sit a little bit more open than it did before yeah but I’d still say a lot more neutral than your own driver yeah so that was [Laughter] sick I just appreciate cool things like that how do you feel with with the look of obviously that looks like I would assume a lot less LOF than what you used to playing yeah uh I’ll be honest it looks mint good I I like a driver that when you sit down it just sits nice I hate it when you have a driver and you lay it down and it does that or does that and you have to like manipulate the grp I like it when you can just sit it down and just grip it and then yeah you you’re in the same place every single time I think your bad one almost comes from if we’re talking about like the balloony one or even the one that falls off a little bit right comes from you like trying to keep the flight down the setup of your driver I don’t I don’t really like I would rather we had something that was a little bit on the flat side and you’re trying to swing it to get it in the air it’s a much more positive way for you to swing driver for sure yeah definitely keep it in some with that yeah it feels like I’ve had to sort of yeah manipulate it to try and keep it down when yeah I don’t like I don’t like doing that that last shot I don’t feel was your best swing of the day no no and yet is our longest ball so far all right okay you know ball speeds at 158 you’ve launched it at 10 you spun it at what 22 and A500 uh and totals come up at 293 not our longest carry CU we know the flight’s a little bit lower yeah yeah but we’re only well three yards off in carry as well so right that’s mashed so like that was completely different to where it felt like I was able to try and hit it up in the air but it the flat I love that flly it didn’t balloon on you when you do no it didn’t it actually rose up instead of just going straight up if I if with the start of the day I said I could build you something that you could feel like you’re going to hit hard and high and start it right at Target I think that would be ideal and I think that’s what we’ve got in our own now that’s all I’m going to ask you to do just get you uh keep swinging that with a bit more confidence that felt me that it really did that’s absolutely SM if I could yeah but I felt like I felt so confident that I could be able to do that like you know feel like low points there and hit up on it and that felt mint that felt really good I love that I do want to experiment with one of the other heads oh no yeah I think we’ve got to try him because I mean that last shot is it’s basically perfect um I’ll be honest it read quite a lot of run out on that so I’d probably ignore that one but carry number unbelievable 278.15 n.6 we know you swinging it with a bit more confidence now that’s another reason why that speed’s going up but again if we’re just picking that last shot as an example it was 14 Longs 2600 spin great numbers we we said we want to live on the low side I’m just struggling to obviously with the The Loft setting I’ve got that I’m struggling to get it much lower now yeah yeah again paired with one of our you know one of the lower luning chaft in the fitting kit I feel like now is the time where we’ve got to experiment with another head I love that again if if one of the others can’t beat it we’ll come back around to it let’s move into that core product now middle head and and just see if we can knock any more thank you flight off it so fun driv just judging you no I love no it has been it’s been very good it has been good but I’m ready to move on do you know Steve malb no I wish I did 9° yeah we’re going corad now I’ve started back at 9° obviously we’ve got a product to CG’s further forward a little bit deeper so we’re going to present a little bit less Loft so there’s a good chance we can play a little bit more Loft in this but still see a slightly flatter flat than we did in the other one okay the thing we’ve got to keep in mind all day is we I don’t want a driver that sits like a little bit open to you I know we I know we don’t want that in this club so I’m a little bit wary in this head um or if I go any lower and L than this it is going to sit a hair open for you okay um so I don’t I’ve started that on 9 degrees upright so you still got the ability to turn it over nicely we can spin it a little lower than we did the the previous maybe even gain a little bit more ball speed just out a quar in longer in length as well so you get us to that almost feels like wherever you kind of sitting at as well it still sits really nice like it just just sits perfect there’s there’s been a lot of you know a lot of work this year on the look of it and you know kind of the eyebrow across the top of the crown yeah is used for alignment we’ve had we had that in our Fairway Woods for a couple of years now it’s had really really good feedback just yeah helps you square it up oh definitely behind it it’s remembering as well that I can try and get that ball up in the air now yeah instead of yeah not not fear the right Miss either I hit it you know kind of hit it hard and up the right and yeah yeah definitely that’s a really good ball fight man yeah like yeah I need to remember that I can do that so that’s really promising to me that’s again 159.5mm if we hit a little bit of a wall with it yeah yeah that’s mashed ah yeah that’s basically identical to the last one that’s W fastest ball speed by a good 163.5 12.2 Longs 2300 spin 285 through the air 306 total little bit left to Target but again I don’t I don’t fear that for you oh no no so give us one more there try and start it a little further right yeah yeah yeah try try and hit me that try to hit me a draw onto that red flag yeah yeah yeah oh a little bit what high on the face that slightly yeah a little bit but like I just seem to be forever in the air yeah we dropped a little bit of ball speed we down to 159.000 that but log still at 14 and SP at 1700 so we we t a little high in the face yeah yeah little bit of gear effect creeping in but it’s still an amazing number these drivers do perform amazing at the top of the golf club yeah really really well at that well I can’t believe how far that went yeah just don’t Dave Harrison I’m not going to Dave Harrison it why do you say that every time I pick any go I could pick a putter up and he’d be like don’t Dave Harrison it you know you’ve been heartbroken with a mini driver you don’t forget well fair enough it’s funny how your confidence increases as well don’t it that’s absolutely that might be the longest so far close 16 1.8 ball 13.4 launch 2200 spin 2868 carry 32.9 tot well I want to try the the last I want to try the L but it’s going to be very very difficult to beat that but I would say that is better the previous I can’t how long that’s gone I can’t how expecting well you know I’m trying not to speak in this video but I’m really impressed how you know if people do just go and buy them off the rack what a waste of money cuz realistically you would have had no idea which drivve you would pick which one one you like the best don’t you yeah Bas yeah looks wise yeah that’s always what I say to guys who come in is that we’re we’re not really to not to sell anything like if you are going to buy stuff I’d just rather you bought the right one you’re going to be happy with it yeah well it doesn’t it you’re better off spending yeah but you are you better off spending like I’ve I’ve not wasted money on that but I guess I have essentially because I should have waited and got fitted cuz now I’ve bought two drivers instead of one so just get fit just get fit car this LS 300 well that’s going to be this I don’t I I think there’s a good chance you could break maybe 290 through the air with this but then we’re weighing up hard this it’s like how much of a difference do you want to see you’ve got to wait what kind of your goals with the driver we’ just built one that is obviously like basically perfect for numbers yeah but he also very very very easy on the off-center strikes yeah not that this is an unforgiving product we’re trying now you know it’s still a it’s still a massive Step Up For Us in stability from previous years but we’re going to sure it’s not as forgiven as the previous one was so yeah uh I think you’ve got to do you’ve gotta kind of weigh up the positives and negatives yeah absolutely that’s everybody can hit their longest drives with our lowest spinning products yeah that obviously doesn’t mean everyone’s average is going to be further it might mean your bad ones aren’t as good which which is a really important part of it so let’s just watch you it a few with that let you get your ey with it but I think there’s a good chance we could get I mean I might be able to get the that core product over 290 through the air maybe if we knocked another 7 five of a degree off it there was yeah depends which way you want to go with it that was a very poor swing I’ve just put on that what was that a little bit toey yeah very yeah so impressed to the dispersion it’s not it’s not missing by much is it no no yeah but but if we’re being honest that is the one that’s a perfect example of the possible negatives if you play in this driver ed is yeah that that offc Center strike is just in you’ll be more in dis verion than distance so ball speeds at 158.3 the numbers have come out well right you know you get a bit of like a low spin knuckle ball there it’s kind of rewarded as in the numbers the carry is only down at 274 but it’s just the distance Offline that that last shot was 47 yards left so yeah that’s going to get us in some that’s going to get us in some danger now and know we we’ve we’ve said all day we don’t really fear that left miss too much for you but no it’s just an example of one we’ve got a little bit on the off center strike there and you’ve been punished a little bit more for it yeah this one feels yeah a lot easier to turn over but I don’t know if it’s a a good thing or not yeah because I can stop that I can stop that quite easily yeah again it’s it’s long uh it’s spinning a little bit low now definitely low and you know in terms of maybe making that’s another reason why we’re seeing like sharp a sharper shape on these golf shots yeah sharper yeah I just I can’t really see any positives in that now cuz I’m what I’m going to start doing now I’m going to start trying to fit this to you yeah when we’ve already got something that works quite well let’s say you came in for a fit and and for for whatever reason we had to play this LS product I think we could make it work yeah you know we we’ve got the option to adjust face angle lie angle movable weight in the head but think I’m doing a little bit too much with it there that’s probably if I was going to describe the benefits of that LS that I’ve seen this year is is that is a little bit more fitable so if someone’s got maybe a like a more extreme directional missing we’re really really trying to eliminate one side of the golf course for them but as I said at the start of the session if we’re going to like if we’re going a little bit less forgiven as we go this end in the case why would we move out of that Max product if yeah if we don’t H that any better in the same here whereas this was amazing so I wouldn’t make it any harder work by moving into that for you I think we just go back into this and that that yeah that felt felt great that one just to be a little bit greedy I’m going to knock another 75 of a degree off this it’s fine with me because I think there’s a chance that and we said at the start of the day we want the good one to be if anything like a little bit on the low side the numbers would suggest that actually was a little bit too low that wouldn’t be a bad thing for you at all as long as you can still it that draw shape come out quite flat it kind of yeah already kind of just not that that one didn’t sit nice but it just suits my eye I think a lot more as well this head there’s a little bit more head down there which is confence inspiring it’s bigger footprint and this is if you if you look on tour this year this is this is what’s dominated the toall plays bags as well this this middle head the core product this looks like that’s always be yeah that felt a little Healy yeah but like if I was stood where James is now I and you know I didn’t know anything about the swing I’ve just put on it I’d have thought that was a great swing you know I’ve hit it really well I haven’t but like the shot’s still gone yeah gone really well so happy with that yeah we know the numbers aren’t perfect in that one but the flight’s still lower than what you came in with and on the CER line so pretty happy with that yeah but that’s that’s what I I want as well I want to be able to go oh I’ve not he that one great but it’s still down the middle and you know the really the good ones you hit with yours you’re happy with we are really trying to manone is the bad one aren’t we yeah yeah great yeah that felt me yeah that felt great that’s back to way you should be 160 ball speed 13.3 LS 2100 spin see like that when you got a good one with your own that the numbers weren’t far off that um we just didn’t see that number come up anywhere near as often no and then you’d kind of obviously you’ve you’ve got your head as good as you could by getting it on that that lowest Loft setting and this this isn’t far off that Loft setting where yeah 8.25 a versus eight and a half in your own but I think the main difference is a stronger level launch in golf shaft which has gained us a little bit of consistency as well your speed we’ve moved from you know like a a a stiff golf shaft that’s a little bit higher launching into into an extra stiff golf shaft that is also a little b a lower launching profile which we already knew well in the Fairway would I think the other than you know the upgrades in Tech this year where you’ve got a more stable driver in your hand here that still spins a little lower in your own even if we were to keep all those fitting factors the same I think the big thing is face angle just got something to like very Square rather than quite open like your own and you can hit the shape that you want hit definely that’s the thing I like most about it it’s going to help you most on the golf course is it that yeah but I think as well coming for a fitting like I didn’t I’ve learned lad just from listening to you and what you’ve said about shaps and face angle stuff like I don’t I didn’t know any of that before and I was you know I didn’t know what what Chef to be high launching and what it’ be so if you don’t you you’re buying something you know you could be buying something that’s completely wrong for you I I would like you to kind of know what you’re playing as well I that gives you a bit of confidence on the golf course but to he you playing one of your mates and say what what what what have you got I’d love you to be able to say I’ve got this and this is why I’ve got it and then maybe if you see a certain Miss in the golf course you’ve got a bit more peace of mind on what’s gone wrong and can make your own changes from there like when we built the fairway wood we know that the basically the sole goal was like eliminate the left side of the golf course with it because you’d seen that with your previous one and now you can go out play with confidence you don’t see that mission if you see want miss a little right well you kind of I know yeah I know exactly what what I’ve done wrong there you can change it from there it’s a little bit the opposite with the driver I won’t to it that confident draw shape and then yeah getting the numbers right from there is another story but that’s not difficult go give us a couple of hard I think for a bit of fun let’s hit a couple hard to finish you haven’t had one over 290 carry all day so let’s try and beat I think you your goal is to hit it hard and high and start it right of Target and you can get there quite easily feel like Rory yeah that’s always inspiring isn’t it well you laughing now there go on come on I’ll do oh Bobby tell I’m thrilled thank you well done thanks very much I proper enjoyed that like proper enjoyed that I love new golf club so Rob what have we ended up with we have ended up with can you seem happier about it please I you joking have just have you not just seen me smiling tell your face we’ve got a hazardous 6.5 60 60 G shaft in the qi1 core product call just the just the QI 10 the QI 10 yeah and it’s set up it’s the 9 Dee head okay set to Upright on the left sleeve and one click lower which comes out at 8.25 so 75 of a degree lower in Loft nice so only .25 of a degree lower in Loft than what you were currently playing yeah but we’ve got a lower spinning head in there we’ve got a lower launching shaft in there as well that’s also playing a little bit stronger and then just the way the angle and face angle sits lets you hit the shape that you want to see and we know generally for a right-handed player if we can if we can move the ball let’s say that we came in with a little bit of left to right shape if we can get closer to neutral even a little bit right to left generally we we see a lower spin number come out of that for for a right-handed player as well because the way you deliver it that isant perfect thank you very much thank you cheers that thank you
