so Gary McCord was on TV talking about this Putter and how it was the greatest thing and the greatest putter ever he said it would be the only putter he’d ever have in his bag David Frost started using one got a lesson from the inventor four days later he won a tournament Aaron battley and other PGA and LPGA professionals were using it it was supposedly the best putter technology in history and it was all a lie or was it in this video you’re going to get the quick story of the Yar [Music] putter so in 2012 Aaron Bley who was at that time and still is perhaps one of the greatest Putters in PGA tour history he was amazing and he was making everything using a putter called the yar putter Gary McCord was on TV bragging on it so much that his co- announcers asked him if it was an infomercial and it wasn’t in fact at the time he was being paid by Tailor Made golf yet he was on TV openly bragging this was the greatest putter ever it was the only putter he would ever have in his bag David Frost was using it a couple of LPGA professionals were using it the putter got so much attention uh off of the Golf Channel and and Gary McCord’s statements that they sold over 90,000 Putters in one hour of Gary making those comments on TV crashed their website they couldn’t keep up with the demand the putter is called the Yar gx1 also known as the Oracle gx1 or Oracle Yar putter it was famous for several years here’s the story and Gary MCC said he had confirmed this said he had spoken to fourstar generals at the Pentagon and it was all legit but there was a female doctor by the name of saay Vanderbilt and Dr Vanderbilt which Gary McCord named or nicknamed Dr V was supposedly an brilliant MIT graduate scientist she had worked for the Pentagon she was actually an astrophysicist she’d worked with NASA and the Space Program helped develop the B1 bomber and she had applied all of that technology to Putters she claimed that she had invented a putter with zero moment of inertia which was the opposite of what everyone else was doing most putter manufacturers were using carsten solheim’s um thought process of spreading the weight to the side and therefore for raising the moment of inertia she said she wanted zero moment of inertia because that would prevent the putter from twisting offline which is exactly what modern Putters that do in fact have zero moment of inertia such as the lab Golf Putters or the whole new putter that I use that’s exactly how they operate Dr V claimed that she had invented that technology ahead of time and people bought into it big time uh people were saying oh the putter works it’s amazing PGA Tour Pros were saying yeah it really works it just feels I don’t have to fight this putter when I swing it’s just so smooth and the ball magically rolls in the hole they even had an engineer shoot slow motion high-speed video proving that the Y putter was more stable on impact than other Putters couple of other cool Fe features of the Yar putter you don’t have to bend over to pick up your ball or anything like that in fact so the putter actually places your ball Mark for you there’s the ball mark and it picks up your ball so you have to bend over so that’s pretty cool but here’s the problem Dr sa Vanderbilt didn’t go to school at MIT she didn’t graduate with an MBA from work she didn’t work for NASA she didn’t help design the B1 bomber she didn’t work for the Department of Defense and even though she was described by one as an absolutely stunning 6 feet 3 in tall gorgeous redheaded woman she wasn’t a lady at all was a man named Steve croll who turned out to be a trans way back in before that was the popular in Trendy thing to do and Dr V or Steve whatever you want to call him ended up in a long-term committed relationship with an LPGA professional and ended up committing suicide so it’s really a a sad and awful story and suicides pretty common among people in the trans community sadly whether you’re into that or not this isn’t a political statement just facts the reality is that it’s a sad story but it’s also an illustration of how so many people buy into hype about this golf club or that club without researching things but the question Still Remains all that it was all built on lie but the question Still Remains does the Y putter have zero moment of inertia does it actually swing and not try to rotate and twist offline let’s find out right now I have device invented by the lab golf folks which is what they call their revealer and you set a putter in the revealer and most Putters try to wobble all over the place let’s check out what the Y putter does of course it rotates some but check this out as you’re swinging the putter there’s very little movement so it has a certainly a lower moment of inertia than most Putters but it’s not like say a lab golf putter or the whole new Putters that I use so the claim was that the Y putter had zero moment of inertia like a lab golf putter or like my hu and you notice I pick it up it doesn’t move I swing it it doesn’t move which means I don’t have to do anything with my hands or arms to keep the putter face Square it’s not fighting against me every other putter in the history of the world that I’ve ever tried in this device is wobbling and swinging and swaying everywhere this is a device where the putter can spin
