the Slick how seriously are you taking the Knicks in the East very seriously which is just I was just it was weird for me hearing you introduce them and say the Knicks multiple times and see that Jersey up there at this point in the postseason this is a little of out of- Body Experience on this but no I have taken them seriously since they added OG Ani uh and going 25 and four with him finishing on a hot streak to finish second in the Eastern Conference I feel like the Eastern Conference is wide open this year uh I know what the history is when your best player is an undersized guard that’s generally not a championship formula very difficult to do but this team has uh a a degree of magic to it whether it’s the Villanova guys being reunited uh the ad the addition of OG anobi I think that they have all the pieces not only to uh to beat Indiana but to be a dark horse in terms of getting to the finals and and upsetting the Boston Celtics so um this series is going to be decided by Pace it’s going to be decided who controls the pace because Indiana they’re living up to their Pacers name they’re second fastest team in terms of how they play uh over the course of the regular season New York Knicks dead last and they tibs plays his starters like 40 minutes a game they can’t be going up and down with those racehorses they got to keep it at a normal Pace but if they’re able to do that and I believe they will be then I see them advancing and playing in the East the Knicks in the Eastern confence finals strange well that would be an incredible Eastern Conference Finals the NBA would love that so keep speaking that into existence Celtic snicks yes I’m very excited for for this series I do think it is going to be a Styles make fights so we’ll see how this ends up and what kind of adjustments to make cuz we we know his coaching Style very specific so is he going to have some wiggle room when you have the Pacers running up and down as they were throughout their entire series they didn’t miss a beat with that either they won two of their three games against the Knicks during the regular season Brunson also averaged 36 points per game in the three games against the Pacers this season but I don’t think OG played in yeah I don’t make too much of regular season robon was out what did it matter in the in the sun Timber Wolf series like nothing at all so you can you can look to that I guess you know probably for to if you want to pay attention to a few of those things but I don’t think it matters much right now especially the way that both of these teams are playing in the postseason so I’m with you this is going to be a a match of styles and we’ll see who can make the right adjustments once the flow of the the series starts but I think you have to take the Knicks very seriously and particularly because of the way that brunson’s playing when your stars are playing at a high level yeah you got to pay attention to that James how seriously do you take the Knicks very serious and if there’s any team in the Eastern Conference that’s thinking about playing with the Knicks you better think again because the Knicks the way they play basketball number one I understand Pace but watching that game last night in Philly the hardest playing basketball team was the New York Knicks all series long they got to every single loose ball third fourth opportunities turned into at least 25 points and that game came down to one possession the Knicks play the way that you are supposed to play the game of basketball they play extremely hard they know exactly who their star players are they know exactly who their Shooters are they know exactly who their Defenders are they know how to play the game of basketball and they are doing it at a high level teams should be very scared and when I say teams I mean the Eastern Conference teams and that’s Boston that’s Indiana they should be very very scared because this team right here the Knicks is a very good basketball team the Nicks are the Knicks are an N are are a James Jones type basketball I take Serious but if I’m the Celtics I’m Not Afraid no if I’m the Celtics I’m not afraid of the Knicks but but I do take them seriously yeah to be doing this without Julius Randall it just shows you how good of a player an animal that Jaylen Brunson is the like he singlehandedly is willing the Knicks to Victory but you brought up a point the Pacers play Fast the Knicks play slow that Series against the Sixers the Sixers want to play Slow also because of be coming off injury yep you can’t play Josh Hart 46 minutes per game like you just did against the Sixers you can’t play Brunson 44 minutes a game like you just did against the Sixers OG I think averag OG averaged 42 minutes per game you do that against the six I mean the Pacers yeah it’s over because those dudes are going to be gassed in the fourth quarter and tibs has a history is from his time with the Chicago boyss his Starters play Heavy minutes you do this against the Pacers at the pace that they want to play at y I don’t know if this gets to six games yeah how much they will have in the tank but they ask Josh Hart that question too though and Josh Hart say I play like this in the regular season though so I’m prepared for this I ain’t getting rest minutes you start playing every restes and rest games like LeBron and Kawai and all that so then now when you asking me to play a bunch of minutes out my back hurting hand me hurt knee hurt and all that that’s what I do saying at the end of the day the last time I checked your starters is supposed to be the ones playing the most minutes and doing their job no no it’s fine to play nobody’s saying that they shouldn’t be playing those minutes but how fast are they playing those minutes how much of this are they doing during those minutes it’s one thing if you if you’re you know if you’re playing this kind2 minutes listen I can’t wait to see it I can’t wait to see what the matchup looks like my anxiety is are the adjustments going to be able to be made because what adjustments you know historically speaking that might be something I have a little that’s the adjustment play the whole game harder the Sixers were eliminated last night and the Bucks were also eliminated by the Pacers but who was the bigger playoff disappointments like the Sixers or the Bucks it was the Sixers for me simply because I had greater expectations for them for this season um obviously I I did not expect them to win the series because Joel embiid missed two months and then he had one week in the regular season to try to get back in shape for playoff basketball I knew that that formula was not going to work against a team that plays as hard as the Knicks do and with both Mitchell Robinson and and Isaiah hartenstein and again one of the things that tibs will do is he’ll look at a guy like Joel embiid and go oh he’s not in shape oh we’re gonna make him work and that’s exactly what he did and so Joel was out of gas by the fourth quarter so I expected that but they were back on January 25th uh they were 29 and 14 they were in third place in the Eastern Conference uh and then Joel mbid got hurt and that changed the whole temperament of this te of of this s of this season for them meanwhile I just was never buying the Milwaukee Bucks from the beginning and I know that they had a tremendous record they had even better record they were 31 wins right but they had also played the easiest schedule in the league and I just did not believe that defensively they were anywhere close to what they needed to be I did not I did not think they were contenders and I thought that the 76ers I thought this was their year for the way the Eastern Conference was constituted the way Joel embiid was playing at the beginning of the year Tyrese Maxi had taken a step you’d gotten rid of the whole James Harden distraction Nick nurse I believe is is that was one of the best hires last summer yep like you had all of the things to make this a special year for the Philadelphia 76ers and it did not happen yeah I got to go to the Sixers and the Bucks didn’t have Giannis and they didn’t have Dame for four of the six games so it’s it’s disappointing that they weren’t available and they weren’t healthy but we knew Yannis wasn’t going to play this series and it was going to be an uphill battle for them from the beginning maybe had a little faith in Dame but then obviously Dame misses time so it’s disappointing that the buck series ended this way but not suris in the Sixers has got to be more disappointing it has to be especially when you consider lost in the Eastern Conference semis 2018 lost in the Eastern T semis 2019 lost in the first round 20 semis semis semis lost in the first round the process is processing guys process it’s been processed like it’s glitching still like it’s like you got that spinning you’re like mixing the the the batter like enough all it’s so I just I feel for Sixers fans because it’s like when are is this ever going to come together like it’s always feels like this is the Year this is the year and it’s not so that’s got to be I mean and I understand Health matters but Health also matters like being healthy and available is is a big part of how this all works so it’s just it’s just a really it’s another disappointing playoff Run for the Sixers and um and they were competitive in that Series so that’s the other thing too I mean two of those games you know I know you like to say that Lakers games could go either way but two of these games literally the one game two they should have won right my goodness and then and then last night we call the foul the foul they call the foul the foul they win TJ who’s more disappointing I mean for me as by default it’s the Sixers they’re they’re the most disappointing you you can’t Giannis didn’t play the entire series Dame missed two games g one game and Giannis is he’s the top three player in the NBA and so when one of the best players not only your on your team but in the entire NBA doesn’t play you I didn’t expect when Yannis didn’t play yeah you have Damen I didn’t expect them to win without Giannis I I didn’t think they had a chance and so for me MB did play he was hobbled um and I and I thought the Sixers would beat the Knicks I I really did tribute to what the Knicks did but for me the biggest disappointment because MB did play and he was pretty much scoring 30 points per game first quarter they have to be the disappoint yeah he just kind of wore out you know yeah I mean and to me that was to be expected so the the Sixers losing I’m with you I thought they they they had a chance in that series but I expected New York to win and I expected Indiana to win the series against Milwaukee even before Giannis got hurt because of the way they play they matched up during the regular season Milwaukee just couldn’t defend fast team no I’m telling you Giannis was healthy you were picking the Pacers still Pi I thought it would go seven and Dame were both healthy for the entire series and and the and the Bucks don’t make it out of the first round I was still picking Indiana it was an ed pick to see that I would have likeed to see that I’m taking the Bucks because I thought the bucks even with Dame Lillard especially before he had got hurt I thought they could have a better chance of beating the Pacers than the Knicks I mean then the Sixers have with hobbled and beid beating the Knicks I I didn’t think that that was even possible even embid was 100% healthy I thought that that was a tough field battle I thought Dame could possibly get this thing done uh round number one with the Indiana Pacers but this is just a disappointment in the playoffs and in season right because we talking about firing Darin ham well they let the players run the ship too because they had arguably what the second best record in the NBA when they say we don’t like the what the coach is doing and how he talking and how he walking and how he looking and all that type stuff and you got the coach out of there and then you bring Doc Rivers in there and and it was a huge disappointment to finish the season and then your best player gets hurt going into the playoffs and now it’s a bigger disappointment in the playoffs so for me when Dame Liller got traded to the Milwaukee Bucks and I speak for myself I said man if they could stay healthy this team is going to the finals that’s that’s just how it’s going to be them in Boston Celtics in the Eastern Conference Finals I don’t know what’s it going to look like I don’t know who’s going to win that’s that’s what I thought once they traded for Dame and then now to be out in the first round who I thought Dame Lillard could at least get this series one done and now they are going home to me it’s a bigger disappointment for the Milwaukee Bucks even with everyone injured even with everyone injured because Dame missed one game he came back I thought Dame Lillard was going to get this series done and to be honest with you you’re high on the Pacers I wasn’t the Pacers was fighting in the play in for a long time I wasn’t really really high on the Pacers so I’m like if Dame Lillard can get this one done Yiannis come back second round I thought the Milwaukee Bucks would win this and then especially the way they look game one winning by 20 like oh they going to be just fine with Dame L this is a disappointment seeing Milwaukee go home like to be honest with you when they made the Dame trade will we be more surprised that they been went home round one or Philly oh for sure the Bucks that’s what I’m saying but that was jannis played play and we know D was compromised he he just showed a ton of heart and will to show up for his teammates but he was compromised yeah I think with I think them healthy in the first round ex like talking about would be uh that would be CRA would be dramatic but he I have I have to especially because the Sixers like the Bucks have a little bit more Equity to me I think they’ll come back they’re healthy next year we’ll have a little bit more belief in them the Sixers I mean what what what do we expect from the Sixers at this point they they it’s it’s been years it has I will say that they do have the wherewithal to improve this roster in a way that Milwaukee does not Milwaukee had Milwaukee came in as the oldest team in the leag and and all guys Chris Middleton Brook Lopez Dame like all of them are on really big contracts I don’t know how you can you can fix that Philadelphia has some room where they can add a piece and I think if they get the right guy then then the process will process
