It’s Cassie vs Dad again, with a stableford format today.
Cassie and Coach were out on a late one last night so today the stableford format will be able to enable a fun match without worry of the odd bad hole!
Recently due to our regular range being closed and Cassie having a lot on at school, practice has been limited so some of the new drills are not quite locked in yet but let’s see how things turn out.
There are a lot of good golf shots on the match.
Coach is getting 6 shots and Cassie is getting 15. It should be a tight match.

Cassie today we’re at Gold Coast and
we’re playing a stable food match today
coach dad is off 6 I’m off 15 and uh I’m
playing off the red teas today because
we’ve both had a bit of a late night so
bit tired but
um conditions are good today so let’s
get into it okay so this is the par five
it’s
a tricky one to start off with wi the
first sing of the day easy to leave at
OB left or right Cassie’s hit a fairly
mediocre one there but it’s found the
middle of the Fairway so no
danger again another solid shot not
spectacular but she’ll have something
like a seven iron left
in um this is three wood and I’ve let it
leak we are riding the wind to
OB just about going to get away with it
Cassie hitting low squirter there she’s
going to do the same she’s about a few
inches from OB I’ve been able to take a
drop and then just popped one right up
in the air with my sand wedge came down
right of that tree so I put myself in a
bit of a a
bother but we’re there on the Green in
four and Cassie she’s taken her drop off
the um off the road and she’s hit a nice
solid
pitch
in so we’ve both got par chances to
start off with mine a little bit further
outside normal range than uh desired but
um this is a chance for Cassie’s first
part of the
day she’s been putting pretty nicely
that’s pretty solid and uh I managed to
scrape out my six made a bit of work out
of that we both made bogey on that par
five both of us were L inches from OB
but fortunately didn’t go in and uh two
points
each so if you check the right side of
the screen I’ve put the yardage and the
stroke index for each hole I’ve popped
that one up short and it’s in the
bunker Cassie on the
Reds I think she was taking a iron here
she’s done exactly the same as me with
both in the bunker very hard sand cuz
it’s been raining heavily this week and
pretty happy with
that puts us in a chance for a par
Cassie very good at bunkers and no
surprise there when she puts herself
solidly in the middle of the
green par puts to
come and um she’s got about four 14
ft and uh see how she does she’s been
giving a longer back swing and a nicer
through stroke so she’s been getting the
pace a lot better that I mean that was
cutting into the hole then straightened
up so decent bogey I sniff the edge of
the hole as is normal but uh two Bogies
for us
there this dry on this par 4 I always
let it slip out to the right and I’ve
done that once more Cassie she’s got the
sort of like low hooks going let’s call
it a strong drawer it’s worked it nicely
into this
hole I’m on the the the whole next door
all I can do is pitch out and try and go
to the green on my next
shot Cassie’s got about 200 it’s
slightly outside of her range and what
happens is when she’s got a bit of
pressure right distance-wise she tends
to go too fast and catch it thin so I’m
next door Cassie is filming me through
the bush um just about make me out I’ve
got just a sand wedge here though the
wind catches it and it dumps me just
short left of the green but I’ll take it
from where I was Cassie’s in her 60 yard
pitching Zone
she’s hit a nice Tempo shot there giving
herself a chance I’ve got my release one
Dan gre’s shot and I stick it in nice
and close that’s a tapping so I make my
five this is Cassie’s par part another
really good roll and she’s got that tap
in for five so she gets two points there
I get the one I don’t get a shot on this
hole so you will be keeping the point
score at the bottom there so you can
follow each hole and also what the
totals are I took three wood there
because I tend to drive my driver to the
right and there death there so I took a
simple shot to the middle but longer
second Cassie quite a lot further
forward than me so I’ve got five iron
here at 190 I’ve played it to the middle
right of the Fairway of the green it’s
all good there Cassie again you see
she’s gone a bit fast she’s flipped the
hands and delivered the blade so it’s
gone low it’s okay it’s only you know
about 20 yards short of the green
but sometimes that’ll come and bite you
we’ll see later if it does today that’s
her low punch run shot it’s not bad but
you see you need to have a lot of green
to be able to get it to stop in time I
um have my first birdie part of the day
it’s about 28
yards and so actually not too unhappy
with that giving myself a three footer
left now this is Cassie’s Sand Wedge
playing the release one Dan Grieves and
she’s put that in nice and close made
her five
again and uh I finally put a ball into
the hole for par so we I get we both get
a shot there and I get three points this
is again Three Wood just to make sure I
don’t
over play the hole Cassie was talking
about playing hybrid cuz she’s at the
front but I said just play the draw
you’ve been playing and it will work out
perfectly and that was exactly what she
did I’ve got seven iron here to
155 just take it nice and easy I don’t
need to blast it and uh
Cassie has an eight iron from
30 just pulls it a tiny bit left but no
danger there she’s short left this is
the right Miss cuz she’s got a little
bit of
uphill and if she leaves it under the
flag it’s the easiest part she can leave
herself so you can see a little bit of
Spin and check there left herself 4T
uphill I’ve got the downhill one which
is usually lightning it’s been a bit wet
this week so I could actually be a
little bit more aggressive so I tap that
in for my
par see what Cassie can do for this
one very good part and she makes her par
she gets two point uh three points there
she gets a shot we’re on the path three
the group ahead of us is letting us
through they’re on the green at the
moment Co hole I pull it to the left
Cassie hits an absolute
but with her I think it’s her pitching
wedge
110 this is a horrid Li I’m in I just
have to chunk it out there pretty happy
with that Cassie’s birdie chance
legitimate birdie chance here good
effort easy par and this is to save
par yeah great par from Cassie almost
got
mine Cass is doing well let’s keep going
so a relatively short par 4 but right is
all OB so you just have to take it down
the middle I take hybrid here pretty
much every time it’s reachable with a
driver but so much danger Cassie is
taking driver cuz she’s got a slightly
forward te and a different angle it’s a
lot easier from this angle and she’s hit
a great one down the middle there um
this is just Sand
Wedge just thump it up there and land it
the the front of the green it work its
way back it’s a very hard green so
Nothing Stops you need to sort of land
it about 10 yards or 15 short than you
want Cassie’s throwing it right up the
flag did pretty well actually to stay
that close to the back of the green um
that’s me on and Cassie just short so
she’s in good Nick she’s taking The Sand
Wedge chip and run release release one
Dan geves that’s another good short game
shot those are the ones she has to do
all the time and so she picks that up
for par I’ve got my first really good
chance for
birdie and I just jab it out to the
right pretty poor really but another
easy par Cassie gets two points I get
three points I get two this is now the
hardest
hole stroke index one I’m taking driver
cass’s Fairway forward much further
forward she’s taking hybrid just to put
it in the middle there’s water left and
there’s water long she’s done a good job
there okay K’s um played nicely in the
last three holes yeah that’s what we
call our scoring Zone the sort of um
higher stroke index made the three parts
she needed the score now we’re back into
a hard hole so we’re just taking it safe
and making should we get maybe a five no
danger okay she’s got 155 she’s taking 7
on to be safe but she’s really just
skinned it like we’ve had on a couple of
other ones just getting too fast I’ve
got a similar distance I’m taking eight
iron I’m just going to be left Edge
she’s taken a drop from the water not a
bad swing this one just gets a little
bit high off the face and so now she’s
Chi on for
four that was very
solid with her sort of lower trajectory
that she has to just chip to the front
so this is for
double oh awesome now we were quite
happy about that we talked about that
partt just playing it for itself rolling
it down there if it’s a seven it’s a
seven so happy with a a double there but
um there’s different types of doubles
that was a good one this is for B
birdie get in in it
goes hardest hole on the course birdie
pretty happy and I get four points for
that pulls me back level with Cassie as
we go down the ninth hole now we’re
playing a short right island green and
I’ve just done the Cardinal sing of
letting that out to the right and I hit
the water to the right Cassie is
hitting a very nice swing I really like
that one was a great drive it was out
there about
200 and um that put her in the position
where she had 160 to carry to the green
and she can make that shot but anxiety
again when you’ve got that anxiety
you’ve got to learn to take the shot and
she comes out slow low and spinny I’ve
dropped I’ve got an eight iron here
150 just make sure I put it onto the
dance floor and I do that now this is a
penalty so she’s playing her fourth
she’s only got about 50 yards but we’ve
got that water right in front of us and
uh we’ve seen a couple of low skinny
ones from anxiety and again she kind of
throws the club at the ball and that was
water at the back so now she’s put
herself in a bit of trouble here this is
number six
on this par five it’s a solid shot um
still about 10 ft left to try to save
the double this is
for my
birdie amazingly enough I’m on
regulation comes up a little bit
short can we make another miraculous
double good P but um that’s going to be
the triple it’s a pity really and this
is for my
par and just leaks away okay after the
front nine we’ll check check the score
down there for
stableford I think Cassie might just be
leading the way pity about the last two
holes but uh she shot 45 on the front
nine the tricky nine so let’s see if we
can score a bit lower on the back check
