what’s going on jomes so this time of
year we love going through mock drafts
but also we love pointing out
malfeasance and deviousness and just BS
from the national media debron haircuts
now Bill Barnwell ESPN respect he’s one
of the most interesting in-depth NFL
writers out there uh really love and
respect his work but uh so whenever you
say you love and respect someone you
know that you’re going to them a new
a-hole with your next comment right but
uh Barnwell you know did up his annual
mock draft with all trades where he
looks at potential trades at every
single selection I think it’s great I
think it’s a very interesting and
thought-provoking exercise and the
Vikings of course with two picks in the
first round but also of course they they
look to trade Justin Jefferson which I I
I don’t understand it so like the
national media is just like obsessed
with trading Justin Jefferson but we’ll
get to that in a sec but uh going down
down in an earlier round o do you have a
trade for one Trevor Lawrence ah nah uh
commies no no so the Vikings uh get on
the board at four here so it’s a
three-way trade with with the Vikings
and the Falcons blah blah blah blah blah
blah blah uh so not overly interested in
this but the Vikings uh would get the
fourth uh number four pick as well as a
fourth rounder uh the Falcons uh would
be getting 11 from the Vikings
which would kind of be ironic
uh but also I mean the Falcons are going
to get taxed because of the uh because
of the tampering hopefully but the
Vikings at the end of the day they give
up uh 11 they give up a 23 and they give
up a future first round pick to get up
to four so uh through fits and starts
and at the end of the day they end up
with the number four pick for
essentially three three ones it’s what
it is not not really too interested uh
in that especially if it enriches the
Falcons cuz F them uh but the Vikings
then get on the board of course at 11 uh
so also there’s talk about the Vikings
moving up one spot boxing out the
Broncos and the Raiders but the Vikings
here at 11 uh so it’s a potential trade
down and the Vikings would move down
four spots with the Colts get back into
the third round now if the Vikings don’t
move up into the stratosphere and they
see the board as relatively flat where
the caliber of player they get at 11 uh
they can still get at 15 I would be okay
because I would certainly love an adore
getting back into the back end of day
two but this is what Bill writes I’ll a
more deranged trade for the Vikings
later
on uh but let’s consider a scenario some
Minnesota fans may not want to imagine
well if your favorite team can’t
successfully trade for a quarterback
certainly possible there is a universe
in which the Cardinals and Chargers
insist on drafting much more needed wide
receivers uh much needed wide receivers
at four and five before the Giants take
their post Daniel Jones quarterback by
Landing JJ McCarthy at six even if B
Nicks or Michael pen Jr might be a
plausible p b option for the Vikings uh
taking one of them here would be two a
right so let’s be realistic and try to
recoup some of that draft capital of
Vikings sent to the Texans to land the
blah blah blah if the Broncos Raiders
aren’t going to aren’t going quarterback
which is a big if uh they could each use
help in the secondary uh the Colts could
be looking towards quarterback two and
while it’s uh a little atypical see
Indie GM Chris Ballard uh both trading
up in round one and targeting position
he typically doesn’t value it’s a clear
point of weakness on a promising rooster
this could also be moved to jump up
ahead of the Broncos for impactful tight
end Brock B so I mean if the Colts are
motivated I mean it might cost you more
than three can we talk about two but it
could be a spot where the Vikings uh get
back into day two again if they see the
board is flat so say at 11 Byron Murphy
is still there and and it’s a spot where
uh Murphy could slide through the
Broncos the Raiders the Saints and then
get to 15 and if the Colts say are uh
motivated to move up for Taran Arnold
the qu of Mitchell or whoever ever the
Vikings can pick up an extra third round
pick by doing that no mus no fuss have
no issue there so Billy B Billy Barnwell
he hasn’t gone over the boil yet uh at
23 uh so
now here’s where the meatball gets a
little bit too spicy and I’m Korean and
I like spicy and this meatball is too
spicy for me anyways but uh here at 23
the Vikings trade with the Patriots so
the Vikings get number three overall
which is fantastic great good great
grand wonderful and the Vikings give up
23 and Justin FR and Jefferson now this
would roughly value JJ as two first
round picks plus because in this
scenario the Vikings would still hang on
to 11 so they would have 311 Amber is
the color of your energy uh and the
Vikings would take the quarterback of
the future at three and go in a
different direction at 11 hell maybe
Roma dun gets to 11 let’s get in that
all right so here’s Barnwell trying to
explain this uh let’s be calm for a
second and talk through this I don’t
think the Vikings want to trade
Jefferson uh and there plenty of
examples in which organizations have
waited to get a deal done with a player
and then eventually got them to sign on
the down line I also saw the giant sign
Oda buam Jr insists that then we’re
going to trade him months after giving
him an extension and then do exactly
that at the very Le all right so you’re
comparing you’re comparing Justin
Jefferson with
obj great cool until the Jefferson
dealer gets done I keeping an open mind
about the star white out’s future okay
okay okay this is a deal in which the
Patriots and the Vikings can both
address their needs albeit in a
complicated away from the New England
side independent of what ends up doing
at quarterback the franchise desperately
needs to land a playmaker who can change
games a wide receiver Jefferson is 24 in
entering his prime whether it’s De Bron
brisket or another passer the the
Patriots would make a historic upgrade
in going from Devonte Parker to
Jefferson as wide receiver one I mean KJ
hborg can’t even get billing as wide
receiver one man and they have the cap
space necessary to sign Jefferson to a
market resetting extension uh they would
also be in you know who also has cap
space next year the Vikings uh
they would also be a position uh with
the number 23 pick to add an offensive
tackle ahead of the Cowboys and Packers
both of whom blah blah blah blah blah
blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah
blah blah the Vikings would notably be
holding on to 11 as part of this trade
blah blah blah blah blah blah they could
move forward with Addison and hackinson
the bulk of their receiving core uh o
hey we get trisan lucky Jackson cool uh
but would they want to draft
btj or
radun uh the Vikings could draft Drake
May at three in round him but two first
round picks a receiver Aaron Jones
running back blah blah blah uh this
trade would value Jefferson as being
worth something like the number seven
overall pick in a typical draft by the
Jimmy Johnson chart or the equivalent of
24 and 26 that’s probably a little lower
than the Vikings fans might expect but
it’s also a product of a draft class
that so wide out heavy oh oh no uh Adon
Mitchell and lb makoni are there so
Justin Jefferson is value less please
please at the same time the return for
number three blah blah blah blah blah
blah blah so uh again what is it what
what is the deal with the national media
always trying to trade Justin Jefferson
I I don’t understand it it’s it’s almost
like they want the Eagles to make up for
that or hey the Cardinals they could get
him or hey hey wouldn’t it be cool
wouldn’t it be cool if Chase and burrow
and Jefferson were around the same team
it it’s it’s like again it it’s the the
coastal media biased east and west and
they they don’t care about fly over
Country Minnesota and they they cannot
stand they cannot stand that Jefferson
seems to love here in Minnesota and the
Vikings want to get something done they
have the cap space to get it done and
guess what Jefferson has assed his
extension because it’s a deadline driven
league and also they want to see CD lamb
get his money first and maybe even Jamar
Chase and reset the market and get a
little bit more that’s exactly what
happened and the Vikings are motivated
to do it uh hence they have all that cap
space in 2025 because they budgeted
because they knew that this was coming
that’s why they’ve R they’ve rided their
books of those bad veteran contracts
over the last three years and clean up
that cap situation and now the Vikings
are going to draft the quarterback in
the future to p with Jefferson for the
next 10 12 years and bring home a dozen
drw bares in the next decade that’s what
they’re going to do man but it’s exactly
like Anthony
Edwards the media cannot stand that
Anthony Edwards loves it here in
Minnesota he wants to bring a
championship to the great state of
Minnesota he wants to be with the Wolves
a long time they they cannot stand that
a young Superstar wants to be here it’s
the same thing with Justin Jefferson and
it’s also why you the media coverage
with Edwards is very muted that’s why
hell it might be why Edwards doesn’t get
the calls you know that other uh you uh
Superstar players shouldn’t could be
getting like he he gets like a third of
the calls of SGA but it’s an argument
for another day come on like come on
like like Anthony Edwards right now what
he’s going to do in the playoffs it’s
going to be like uh late 80s early 90s
Jordan you love him man you love it but
uh again every single National media
drone person and their mom they they
can’t stand that Jefferson and the
Vikings are going to be together a long
time they can’t stand that the Vikings
are going to land their future franchise
quarterback they cannot stand that the
Vikings are going to have one of the
best young teams in the National
Football League woo that’s right maybe a
vik player should make a comeback for
the draft I don’t know who who who knows
man but I mean Billy you’re really good
at what you do but this one
sucks that’s all that’s all man but your
thoughts our thoughts uh Bill baral’s
annual mock draft with trades of course
JJ get shipped out of here I’ll let us
know your thoughts and our thoughts in
the comment section below subscribe for
daily Vikings takes once more the work
put a little something in the bedm but
till next time skull production value

  1. Bill Barnwell is crazy. The Vikings made their biggest error by trading away Randy Moss. They're not going to trade away Justin Jefferson for peanuts.

  2. If we trade him for a high pick or two we could draft Nabors or Odunze … not bad. Then draft a QB and an offensive lineman or two.

  3. We fucked up by trading moss and getting our biggest draft bust of all time. If they trade Jefferson the exact same thing will happen I guarantee it

  4. The media should be talking about trading Lamb or Chase too. But the Cowboys are loved by the media and the Bengals are also loved.

  5. Jefferson if worth at least 3 first round picks coming to us if he's traded anything less then that is everyone who gets less should be fired on the spot

  6. Talking about haircuts Bill could definitely use some help! News Flash !! We arent trading Justin Jefferson !!

  7. It gets really tiresome when the "NFL Experts" keep assuming the Minnesota Vikings organization is stupid. They aren't.

  8. They want him traded cause they hate the Vikings and when the best receiver in the league plays for them, then they gotta talk somewhat good bout the Vikes.

  9. This would be a completely meme trade but: Jefferson, #11, 2025 1st Round Pick, and a 3rd Round Pick for #5 and Justin Herbert from the Chargers. Then we hopefully go Marvin Harrison Jr or Nabers at #5.

  10. The media idiots get it all backwards when they want to trade Jefferson. This would be closer to a trade : NE would have to give up #3, #34, #68 and 2025 1st for Jefferson and #23.

  11. Crazy to think that we've had JJ on a rookie deal for multiple years and have diddly to show for it. Doubt paying him like a QB is going to help matters any, but gotta do it. We ♥JJ and The Griddy, so time to pay up. Waiting has only cost more $. Get it done already.

  12. Not only does this man look STUPID, he's proved it……he has no business having his job if he's this STUPID……trade JJ???? Absolute bafoon!!!!

  13. To not have seen my Vikings in a superbowl yet its really sad to hear Vikings fan who heard how we are going to be top 5 in salary cap and knowing were going qb early in this draft why trade JJ ? After he signs a 4 or 5yr contract our franchise qb contract be up for resigning and we move on then if JJ wants top $$ because our franchise qb is our best player not JJ but in 2024 JJ our best player our drafted superstar

  14. I don't blame the media for proposing it, as I've had my own similar thoughts but I'm just a Vikings fan. What's the hold up with a contract? Does JJ want a 4 year 160M deal with 100M guaranteed? At some point, you have to consider and weigh all of your options.

  15. Why is everyone getting so wound up over what some talking media head says? They all bounce around different ideas during the off season, just like Andy and other social media people. I'm about done with all the ridiculous emotion people are expending on these comment sections. It's just opinions and speculation folks, relax a bit and enjoy life. It doesn't last long.

  16. This guy doesn’t take care of his body and can’t even shave his balding head, yet people take his drafts seriously?

  17. Trading Jefferson is NOT a crazy idea and there is a history there IE Moss Diggs Harvin. But that compensation is NOT sufficient. Tyreek Hill trade netted KC a #1 #2 and two #4s and a #6. That is a base line for Jefferson. Arizona makes more sense since they need a WR. AZ Picks #4 #35 and #71 is fair for JJ. Of course we keep 11 and pick 23 also.

  18. I am so tired of them wanting the Vikings to trade its superstar. I was so sick of them wanting them to gid rid of Kirk Cousins then when they do, they wanted him to stay.
The media wants shine on the packer and lion. To a lesser extent da bear.
How come the media isn't bringing up the Chargers Cap situation and that they should trade Herbert?

  19. If you trade away Justin Jefferson, you trade him for what the Vikings gave up to the Cowboys in the Herschel Walker deal. You don't trade JJ unless you receive that kind of compensation.
It was Three 1st round picks. Two 2nd round picks. A 3rd and 6th round pick.
Thats what the Vikings need to do in order to trade JJ. If they got that compensation then i would welcome a JJ trade.
If you are the Vikings, why would you trade Three number 1's and JJ just to get a QB who hasn't proven he could play in the NFL yet?

  20. You mentioned CeeDee Lamb. Why isn't the league talking about him getting traded? The Boys are in Cap Hell but Lamb isn't on the block to these biased media jackals

  21. Seriously though, why hasn't their been talk about Ceedee Lamb being traded?

Justin Jefferson's market value projected contract: Four years, $117.6 million ($29.4 million annual salary)

CeeDee Lamb's market value projected contract: Four years, $115.4 million ($28.8 million annual salary)

Ja'Marr Chase's market value projected contract: Four years, $104.5 million ($26.1 million annual salary)

  22. It should be noted that Barnwell loved Tom Brady and their for he has an affinity for the Patriots. He would love to see the Vikings stupidly trade JJ for nothing to NE. Look at what the Cowboys got in return for the trade of Herschel Walker. That's where you begin trade talks especially since a running back isn't prized like that any longer.

  23. Who makes these 🤡 's experts? Same with fantasy football? These 🤡's need to get some 🐈 and Relaxxxxx!

  24. It’s a week from the draft and people are still being delusional and putting Jefferson in trades. Crazy !!!

  25. I don't want to trade JJ either, but how about JJ to AZ for the Cardinals' 4 and 27, plus their second round pick, #2. So we get 5 of the first 35 pics…either May or McCarthy at 4…skip the drama of JJ's 30+ million a year contract…and get lots of cap space for impact free agents this year or next..

  26. …actually the Cardinal's draft at #3 in the second round, not #2. But either way then…who do you want with those other 4 picks? I'm guessing wide receiver, offensive tackle, edge rusher, run stuffer on the d-line, shut down corner? Heck of draft, and just the early part. The whole thing is sort of a reverse Trader Rick move…because he'd be trading back for lower draft picks!
