so we’re here at West Midlands and I
wanted to share a real simple tip with
you because with students that I work
with generally speaking I know if I can
help that golfer tidy up their back
swing position it will make the game and
the swing way way easier and what often
happens with lots of golfers is you’ll
get the real fundamental Basics wrong
and what we’re looking to achieve is
You’ have probably heard it before but I
promise you you need to double check
this sort of stuff for yourself is Step
number one is alignment now the best way
to make sure that you’re aligned up
correctly is ch something with inside
your peripheral vision so if I’m going
just in the center of that t box in the
distance there I choose a divot which is
just with inside my peripheral vision I
make sure the club face is pointing in
that direction right that’s step one
then what you need to do from there is
you need to make sure when we take this
club back although the club is going to
work on an arc what we don’t want to do
is we don’t want to be you know really
sort of making the club work on an arc
really early in the swing we want to get
a feeling in the sort of Zone which
let’s say is about let’s say it’s about
two let’s say it’s 2T right so we’re
going to go 2T to 2T on the way through
or a foot and a foot and what you got to
try and do in that stage is you got to
try and make sure that club and that
club shaft are traveling in a straight
line so you’re trying to keep that club
face nice and stable and that club shaft
nice and straight and stable let’s say
for at least a foot either side of the
ball or if not as a feeling two feet cuz
if you can get that club traveling in a
straight line it’s going to give you so
much confidence holistically with every
part of your game so I’m going to get
myself set up now I’m going to go a
little bit left of my original div cuz
it was a bit too far to the right so I’m
going to go to this divot here going get
my club face aiming in that direction
get myself lined up and then all I’m
going to do from here is just make sure
that I get that see the way I’m just
taking that club nice and straight back
for a couple of feet and then I’m going
to get the same feeling as I swing
through a couple of feet through and if
I can do that hopefully I’ll hit a shot
pretty much where I want to be going
there we go little bit clean in contact
perfectly straight in terms of Direction
work on it let me know I’ll see you guys
again really soon

  1. Somehow, golf lessons always seem more “genuine and authoritative” when delivered by a guy who sounds like he could be talking to you from Troon or St Andrews

  2. Mo Norman said 22 inches behind the ball to 22 inches past the ball. This guy says about 2 feet. Mo was very precise, that's why he was a better ball striker than this guy! But I would settle to be as good as this guy!!

  3. I am now doing it your way turn lift arms ,chest over ball ,and I to ,hit it thin ,goes alright but not shifting far enough towards target I presume but many thanks for the hard work you have done to get me playing better.
