hey it’s Dustin Johnson captain of the
Four Aces I’m here at my gym hit it
great last day this is um you’re going
to get to watch me do my my pre-round
workout SL warmup um yeah excited about
the day feeling great so we’re here this
morning getting ready for round three
and this is a normal warmup for Dustin
so what we do is we call this a ground
activation and this basically gives your
body the opportunity to actually start
to do everything it’s going to do when
you get out onto the driving range
activate the lower body the upper body
all your nervous system starts to
actually work and allow your body to do
what it has to do when you get on the
driving range and he’s got a club in his
hand uh so that’s what you’re seeing
right now this is a normal routine that
he does every day before he goes to the
golf course
it all depends on what you describe as

FY so too like for people watching if
you do you
know you know doing a warm up I think is
really important before you go play like
you said to activate all the muscles and
get everything firing the way you want
to but what’s great about this place is
every person that comes in whether
you’ve never worked out before or you
work out every day you come
in we put you through an evaluation and
we tailor a workout specifically for you
where you’re cuz whether you’re in the
best shape you can be in or you’ve never
worked out before you still going to
have deficiencies like especially depend
on what sport you’re playing and so we
give you an evaluation then tailor a
specific program for
you which is how you
maximize you know your ability
chest
CS this time three B this time three
yeah on an off day like on a a week that
you’re not playing golf yeah and like
Monday Tuesday or like say yeah Monday
Tuesday Wednesday is the same we train
and then like play playing days when I’m
working out before I don’t want to 64
you know you maybe double we do about
half of what we normally do is that what
you said just
cuz burning so much energy on the course
I don’t want to burn it burn it all in
the gym and you don’t want to be sore
out there I want to be sore yeah just
want to make sure I don’t run out
a when we first started training like
obviously I would never recommend like
do work out on you know and then going
to play golf if you’ve never done it but
like when you do it at home like we’ve
been doing it for so long like I me I
can do full workout they go play it I’m
not sore or anything but it’s just cuz
my body’s used to it

so what he’s what what you’re going to
watch dusa do right now is he’s going to
actually do a split Dan upper body
rotation okay so the split stance is
great for the brain to talk and force
balance from the ground up and then if
you think about what this is mimicking
top of his back swing and then as he’s
rotating down towards impact this is
this kind of stuff that’s really cool
that tells the brain when we get on the
Range I’m going to start to go here and
then here so he does it with a little
bit of resistance the split stance
forces his balance to activate it’s it’s
a great upper body and a lower body um
movement for uh back swing follow
through and he does the opposite side
just to keep the body balanced yeah you
know you don’t see it that often but
there are a lot of players that’ll when
they’re warming up they’ll swing righty
and they’ll swing Lefty to get all those
muscles get Balan activated it’s funny I
was looking watching
SC never seen that yeah no no there
there are a lot of players that’ll swing
they’ll just take a couple of couple of
their irons right and they’ll go right
and left you if you’re working out you
don’t just work out one leg or one arm
you do them both right right I that it’s
like a golf specific work yeah

like always train I was kind of sporadic
with my training yep you know I do
really good for two months and then I
might take two months off
yeah I never I’ll never forget it was
like Saturday morning and Dustin and I
were in our place in Jupiter and we’re
sitting on the floor and we just
finished this part of the routine okay
and he goes we got to take it up and
enough I’m going to be number one in the
world and I’ll never forget it from that
time on he never stopped and sure enough
it happened
yeah I think it’s a I think this has
become a you know a really important
part of players development and where
they end up and you know everybody does
it now and I think it’s you know it
stands out that it used to be something
that was odd or they were afraid of and
now it’s become a staple they they do it
all the time it’s just as important for
golfers because there’s so many moving
parts and their bodies go through so
much so everything you see Dustin doing
he’s paying attention to every part of
his body and
you know for probably 15 years we’ve
been working with players at the tour
level and uh they do set the Precedence
for everybody like Dustin said at any
level whether you’re a beginner or
you’re the level that they play at this
is one of the best things you can do for
golf so it kind of started the Genesis
was when Co happened like we go in these
gyms like you can’t you can’t work with
him I’m like why not it’s been great to
go along with right you never really see
trainers coaches like working with the
players and it’s a pretty cool thing to
do
so you we started training whenever well
at home
we we like once he just started training
me yeah like it’s I’d rather work out
with him than just like sit there and
tell me what to do for
sure he made well he does the workout
but we do it together so it kind of like
you said it pushes we push each other or
whatever but so
yeah I’m been do in the garage it’s not
very big but it’s got everything got you
need it’s got everything I need to get a
full workout in like I got a cable
machine
dumbbells um a bench a squat
rack a bike I mean I got so I can get a
full workout and but it’s not you know
it’s in the I built one of my garage
Bays I turned it into a gem oh okay so
but I’ve got it it’s perfect that’s all
a pinch but to be honest I’ve had it for
like 2 months and I I go to the gym it’s
so but it’s just in case I want to get
one in you got to
do here’s the part you get fun cuz now
you looking at metric and numbers yeah
so I’m not going to let him he his
levers are so long but if you look at
the load
1,177 right it’s amazing that’s that’s
how much force is being created right I
mean he’s literally shaking this machine
no that’s he just he’s
this is amazing and then we we have such
amazing technology like that’s the one
thing that we like to say that’s
important about what we’re doing to
stand The Cutting Edge of golf
technology sure
yeah here’s where it gets fun right I
mean and cuz at one point working out
just working out is not just working out
it’s working out with the purpose all
right you ready for this right here’s
the thing yeah

yeah here’s where it gets F cuz I have
no ability to probably get there but I’m
going to try so what are you wait wait
wait before you do this what are you
aiming for like what’s well he just it
was was
