green and this is after 10 birdies
already on the day with his partner
Martin trainer TR he got that now to set
up Eagle and he would lag it
close and that would give Remy this
opportunity for birdie

so they would go into the clubhouse at
25 under tops to the leaderboard that
was at 309 Eastern

Time Roy mroy Shane Lowry out in35
birdie at the 10th now at the par five
11th yeah after a slow start on the day
really picked up speed in the middle of
the round berd’s at 78 as you mentioned
10 and then that at 11 that would get
them the 24 under their only one back of
the lead Patrick Fishburn Zack Blair
Fishburn now at the par 511 this is for
birdie yeah and this is after a double
bogey on the ninth hole hard 10 good
bounce back birdie there at the 11th
significant cuz it got him to 2500
they’re tied for the lead now with Ry in
trainer Ryan brm par 4 13th he’s
partnering with Mark
Hub and that is not a m hit that is
exactly what he was trying to do because
this is a short part four and he was
going right at the
green wow look at

this they would two-putt from there for
birdie that would get them the 23 under
their only two shots back of the lead
stay with brm par 4 13 this is for
birdie and there was a lot of highlights
coming out of Ryan brem today good ball
striking and making putts when they
needed it
that would get them only one shot back
and we go back to Roy maroy at the 16th
for
birdie a great look left to right oh
just drips it in Don’t stop believing
that would get them the 25 under a
three-way tie for the lead but they’
bogey 17 and they dropped the 24 under
they’re now one shot back meanwhile back
to Fishburn part 3
17 well it wasn’t the only B we saw on
the 17th hole it be became an incredibly
difficult hole for some of these lead
groups coming down the stretch water all
along the left forced a lot of people to
bail right which left very difficult up
and down they would finish at 2300 back
to Rory now par 518 this is his third so
important be Tak so impressive too can’t
take for granted that kind of pit shot
and the spin that he got on they would
finish at 25 under Ryan brm par 58 18
needs us to join what would be a
playoff

denied he can’t believe it moved
right on to the first by the wind indeed
Martin trainer part 58th this is their

third difficult leave in very grainy
grass just never caught the ball first
did not get the contact he wanted
meanwhile Rory maroy in a bit of an
awkward stance from this bunker this is
their
third awkward stance but a pretty good
lead at the front portion of this green
able to be aggressive towards that hole
location give himself a nice leave good
look for
birdie Shane Lowry now will have that
look for
birdie to win

outright so with that the focus the
pressure will shift to Martin trainer
who must make this putt to

Lowry here’s a look at the final
leaderboard you can see the way it’s
settled out some really good golf was
played there look at some of those
scores on this final day but for Rory m
KY and Shane Lowry when they finished
Steve Bowski caught up with
them bonus golf needed for Rory and
Shane to get the job done a birdie on 18
in regulation a force the play off a par
good enough to get it done what was the
mentality playing 18 twice in the last
45 minutes yeah well I think um in
regulation we we knew what we needed to
do you know with from you know the
Boogie on 17 we knew we needed to to
make a birdie at the last to get a
playoff at at worst I guess we didn’t
know what the guys were doing behind so
to to play the 18th the way we did in
regulation which you know was great to
get a four there um and you know we were
you we were a little fresh or a little
sharper I guess going into the playoff
Martin and Chad had the weer on for for
ours to to to play this playoff hole and
and we were coming right off you know
right off the back of our R so feel a
little bad for them but at the same time
we we played a great run to golf you
know this Al alternate format is is
really tough and to to play the last 11
or 12 holes the way we did when we knew
we needed to to get to
um to get to a score that was um to get
to a score that was what was posted you
know we knew we had there was a Target
set and the fact that we got there I
thought was was super impressive little
bit of slow start out of the Gates Again
what were the challenges trying to build
momentum knowing there was work to be
done in the tougher format uh yeah we a
slow start but like we played uh number
seven number eight very well all week uh
you know we knew 10 was going to be a
Chance 11 obviously so we knew we had
chances coming up you know we we knew uh
if we just kept doing our thing you know
the way Rory drove the GOL golf ball
this week it’s like it’s an absolute
pleasure to play from his second shots
uh and you know we knew we were going to
give ourselves chances and I think we
played the last you know I a PTI shot in
17 but you know I was just trying to hit
up the right side of Green the wing got
hold of it and we made a bad bogy there
but you know we we knew we could bur the
last get of the playoff and you know we
knew when we get the playoff we could
win it so uh yeah Rory said to me going
down to the playoff he said was the last
time you were in a playoff I was like
2009 so uh that was nice it was nice to
get a win and you know to do alongside a
great friend is just yeah it’s very
special you’ve won all around the world
what do you take the most pride in first
time here doing it with a great
friend uh I think I you know we kept
each other positive the the entire way
this week uh even when things weren’t
going our way for a little bit we um you
know we we we kept our heads held high
and you know there was a couple of
struggles early on in the runs
especially at the weekend there to to
get through those and and get some
momentum going um yeah you know we play
so much golf at home and we’re so
comfortable in each other’s company and
um to be able to to do it out here when
it matters and and produce similar golf
uh is is really cool job well done enjoy
guys thank you thank
you Paige what do you think the
significance is when Rory just told
burko that we kept each other positive
all
week I think that was important and when
you look back to kind of how the round
started they kind of downplayed how
difficult it was of a start for them in
trouble immediately off of the first te
and I think back to what you may say to
yourself versus the difference of what
you may say to a teammate in those
moments uh it’s easy to be down if you
put yourself behind the eightball early
on but when you have a partner standing
next to you I kind of get the sense
based on what Rory said that he’s
talking up his teammate in a way that
helps the team and stay in a positive
frame of mind perhaps in way that would
be different than how he would talk to
himself so I think that aspect of the
team golf is really interesting and in
in how they work together especially
being so close and amongst The Spoils of
course for Shane Lowry he’s now going to
get in the three remaining Signature
Events that’s big and I think you know
even just it even though it was a small
short putt on the very last that was a
significant putt for him to make he
missed several throughout the week it’s
been something he struggled with this
season it’s going to draw a lot of
confidence on being able to perform in
big moments uh it may be a team event
but even as an individual you can take a
lot from those kind of uh moments and
certainly this win yeah maybe it’s an
early birthday present for Rory mroy he
turns 35 years old on this coming
Saturday he’s also now the 12th all time
to have won 25 or more times on tour and
four or more Majors thanks for joining
